Cosy pub and good beer, friendly staff. Food however was horrible. Baked Camembert was stone cold and congealed with garlic paste ‘injected’ into it. Fresh Crab pasta bake was pasta with cheese and grated crab stick (£15) Casserole was gloopy, tasteless and looked like it was from a tin. Burger was ok. The choice of food is vast for such a small dining area and the restaurant was half empty on a Saturday night so the clues were all there I suppose. If you’re looking for a pub for a beer by a fire on a winters afternoon this would do fine. If you want a good meal; avoid - take a 3 mile drive to the queens head in West Chiltington. I was told the ownership might have changed here recently, possibly to the detriment of the food.

I'm marking this mainly on the B and B aspect. The rooms were functional but very tied and unloved. Generally not very clean, headboard was badly stained as was the lamp shade. The room smelled of damp. It's a shame with the rooms being in the old Forge building they have the potential to be very quirky and a novelty if presented right.
I found it to be rather expensive at £85.
I've marked it up mainly due to the great staff and the excellent food. It seems a popular location. If I was marking it just on the pub and food I'd mark it 5 as the staff are great.

Stopped of here on the off-chance of decent meal and found real gem of a pub! Friendly bar staff, excellent selection of ales and wine and above all really good food. I had mussels here as a main course and and without doubt they were the best I've tasted in a long time - proper rich colour (no tastless grey ones) succulent in a lovely sauce - believe me I've eaten in a lot of top restaurants and so called 'gastro' pubs and the food here impressed me with it's quality, attention to detail and value! Well worth a visit.

Had a nice meal a few weeks ago and rang to book a table for a Sunday evening. The lady who answered the phone responded 'Battersea Dog Home'! then corrected herself with 'Selsey Arms'. She then said she could not hear me and asked me to redial. I had read a review concerning drunkenness of the staff. I had no intention of ringing back. and I shall not be visiting The Selsey Arms again.

I had a lovely meal with my grandmother one Sunday after hearing the pub was under new management. The staff are fantastic, especially the leading lady, and they have refurbished the pub really nicely. Food wise, everything was tasty, beautifully presented and reasonably priced. I will definitely be going back when the normal menu is available as I want to try everything

This place totally went above and beyond service wise for us and we are eternally greatful.

Our kids were very hungry and car sick so we made a stop here just hoping for some sustenance and to stretch our legs. They opened the kitchen early to feed us and talked and played with our kids.

Such a beautiful locals pub with kind friendly staff. ❤

New owners, a few teething problems but food was delicious and reasonably priced. Complete refurb so much improved. Going back this weekend for a double check Update, had a very good Sunday roast, wasn't disappointed, it was excellent. As an aside, really pleased that paper straws were offered to the children.

Popped in for lunch when driving past and was thoroughly impressed. Friendly service, good choice of food which was well presented, in good sized portions and for a reasonable price.
Would certainly visit again!

Friendly service, good quality food with good sized portions and reasonably priced; for seven of us with drinks, starters, mains and deserts it came in at around £25 per head. Will definitely go again.

Good food and drink. Recommend booking or turn up as they open though you may still be disappointed. The pub is locally known for thier sea food.

Lovely pub. Great food and well kept local beer especially good. Friendly welcome and service too. It felt slightly overpriced by about 20%.
