Very busy spot.
Went here for a lunch with a friend and it's the type of place that everyone goes to for good food. But that's the only reason why they go.
The staff behind the bar are loud, before the lunchtime rush I was the only person in there so the need to shout at and over each other was unexplainable. But didn't make for a fantastic working environment while waiting for friend.
Next, upon arrival, I sat at one of the 30 odd free tables to be told it was reserved. I went to move to another and was told again that was reserved for a big group. Third time lucky not quite. I just asked the waitress where she wanted me to sit because it shouldn't be that difficult.
A little thing but, the lemonade was out of syrup. Judging an establishment by how it serves a soft drink option is an essential to me. It's fairly simple and easy thing to check on and do. You have gas cylinders which pumps carbon into the drink, and boxes / bags of syrup which gives the drink the sickening sweet taste. I never ask for ice because it's often cold enough and makes the drink flat quicker and then I can't actually compare. But the syrup had gone.

Maybe if the staff weren't shouting at each other and paid more attention to the simplicity of checking pumps and quality before service I would have nudged this up to a 4.

We were looking for a Thai pub that has real ale / cider and cocktails, found this and thought it ticked all the boxes. We were right! Unfortunately the ale selection was low, and the cider was fizzy. The cocktails were fantastic, and their signature cocktails drop to a fiver in the evenings. I had the lamb shank massaman curry special, which was delicious. I also had a pitcher of Pimm's to myself, which was strong and tasty. The cocktails were of a good quality. The pub was quiet during the afternoon on a sunny Saturday, but filled up with locals in the evening. There were no tourists I could see, despite having a B&B attached. The staff were very friendly, and the service was impeccable.

Just stayed in room 2 in the newly refurbished rooms and it was wonderful. Beautiful decor and very large size rooms for what you pay for. If you are looking for someone that has character and is not another boring chain hotel, this is the place to come. Service throughout was perfect: we were met by the really friendly and welcoming manager in the pub downstairs and we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We had supper downstairs (brilliant atmosphere) the food was delicious, plus we sampled some lovely draught ales and they even do some great cocktails - what more could you want from a traditional pub in central London (EC1). We will definitely be returning before it gets fully booked!!

Positive experience: room size, helpful staff, cleanliness, wifi. I would recommend these rooms for those who need to be in the area for business or training (etc.venues, The Hatton are 3 min walk) as it is located further away from the main tourist areas, which was perfect for me. It took me though only around 25 min to walk to the theater district and Covent Garden. Check-in and check-out are nothing complicated - just contact the staff in advance if you plan to arrive late (after 18.00) or leave earlier than 11.00. The pub itself is very popular and the food was delicious.

Spent a week at the end of May 2016, in a very comfortable room on the top floor. All amenities were available in the room including reverse cycle air conditioning, a rarity in UK pubs. We could not fault the room or service provided. We also found it to be conveniently located as we were able to walk to the Thames and the Tate from here.

We had several meals and drinks in the pub below and enjoyed great food, atmosphere and service.

I can honestly recommend this place to anyone visiting London.

Attended a wedding here on Saturday evening. What a wonderful venue for a private function, with the added bonus of rooms upstairs for those that want to stay overnight. The pub was transformed with seating by the windows and a dance area in front of the bar. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming (I had been there prior to bring the cake) and made it a very smooth run, relaxed evening. I would highly recommend this as a weekend hire venue, especially as the road outside seems much quieter than on weekdays.

Went here to watch mainly to watch a footie match. The place was lively but not overly busy, which was great for me as we got a seat. We ordered the sharing fried starters. The food was really tasty - very Asian inspired cuisine. There was a lack of match commentary at the start in favour of music but at the request of someone, the bar staff did turn the TV volume up but kept it low. Overall, good find for me thanks to match pint and would come here again to watch a match and to grab a bite.

Location is fine
Rooms r fine
Staff is very helpful

In money they take below r big cons

No lifts in hotel which causes issues in luggae transfers and coming up and down

Still use conventional key on doors and no auto locking

Reception is inside bar which requires door of bar to be used every time to reach them which doesn't look good

Great drinks and atmosphere. Fantastic food and a service delivered with excellence, in particular a young lady named Marta who not only met but exceeded our expectations. Also a massive thanks to Siobhan who was very welcoming! 5 star!!!
I would not only return but also recommend it!!!

Thank you Clerk & Well, and thank you Marta & Siobhan!!!

Great room, beautifully appointed. Only thing is there could have been electrical sockets in more easily accessible places. Pub restaurant food very tasty unfortunately spoiled by cold bowl and member of staff who seemed to want to be somewhere else that than serving me. Will definitely be back.

The only place for miles around that has the football on Saturdays! Good, comfortable, busy pub. Didnt eat but others did, and it looked nice. Drinks just fine, tho mixed service - some staff quickly friend and helpful, others rather slow. Oh, and if it is open, pop into the magic shop opposite.

A safe bet for a bustling vibrant lunchtime and evening week day Drinks, always busy due to the placement near a lot of offices and can sometimes take a while to get served but they do a good lunchtime food and have a great selection of all drinks for everyone's tastes.

Went to watch the opening game of the season. They had three big TV so you couldn't miss it. We had a table and ordered food which was great. It also meant that we had table service for the rest of the evening. Bonus! Staff were great and efficient.

Decent pub with quite a good food selection. It's a good place too watch the football too and grab a bite to eat. Service was very polite and helpful. Would recommend if you are in the area. Or is not particularly big though and can get busy.

Good selection of beers and a Asian fusion menu which keeps you pretty happy once you've had too many of the beers. Also, I love a pun name. The pub is also a hotel, if you're looking for somewhere unusual to stay in London.

Very unfriendly staff. Moved us from table because they wanted to prepare for next day. Totally unreceptive to concerns . Said they needed to get some rest at 10.30. Not surprisingly pub was already empty . Don’t bother gong there

Lovely pub with friendly staff and quick service. On a Thursday night it was busy enough to have a great atmosphere but quiet enough to have a good conversation and not have to queue at the bar for hours. Will definitely be back.

Some nice Asian flavours and reasonable prices (for central London!). We had the slider burgers (nice, but the Asian flavourings were very mild) and fries (delicious, with a great spicy dip). Well worth a look.

One of my favourite pubs in Farringdon/Clerkenwell - service is always incredibly fast, complimentary rice crackers and a good selection of Asian fusion food. Rarely overly busy either, so perfect for lunch.

Cute hotel at a decent price. Stayed there a few times, had an issue with a lot of noise once, sounded like someone was having a party in their room and then a fight with the people who came to break it up

Tasteless food that we had to send back 2 times, on top of this, the manager had a very bad attitude by telling us that we were wrong for not liking it. Worst pub food and atmosphere in the whole area.

Food was excellent and priced ok. Wine was more expensive for the area, not sure about other drink prices. Went on a thursday and it was quite noisy. That did not bother us but something to keep in mind

Thai food served in the back of what looks to be a modern British pub. Nice surprise. Staff are always super friendly and food has always been good. Been there 4 times now and not had a bad experience.

Very nice rooms! Lovely repair, all clean and tidy. The only negative, no elevator and very steep narrow stairs. On the ground floor of a classy pub with a pan-Asian food. For the guests a discount)

Went here because we thought there was a pool table, only to find it had been removed. However the bar service was quick and we got a table on a friday night for the six of us in the group.

Good choice of beer but the place isn't the nicest place in the area. The food is really disappointing (supposedly thai). Avoid the mini burgers at all cost: they're really dry.

At the end of the work day, especially on Thursday and Friday, this place gets busy and service on the food side can slip. But as a pub that serves good food you can't go far wrong.

Restaurant only: Delicious Thai / Malay food for reasonable price (students's discounts available). Room for private functions also available (until late evening but not night).

5 by Stefan Fischer Review source

The food is tasty but not at all authentic - for example the egg noodles masquerading as 'ramen' and the bright green Thai curry. Service is often sluggish too.
