A bit if a surprise this hotel, it’s around 10 minutes by walk from aldgate est station, and just 3 from the DLR station.
It’s very convenient for people coming from London city, few stops, 3 minutes by walk and you’re in the hotel.
The personnel is great. The breakfast was included and the buffet is fresh and with a lot of variety including a lot of fresh fruits, see the attached photo. Included breakfast is a big deal since breakfast can be expensive out there. Also in this case the personnel was super.
They have a gym, quite rare in the area, with 2 treadmill a spinning bike. It’s not big but for me was perfects.
Rooms are big, a lot of space, the bathroom was very clear. The shower is in the bath tub but this was not a problem for me, and I’m a big guy. The separation between the tub and the rest of the bathroom is with a pane of glass so it’s clean and nice. They provide a bottle of water for free and the minibar is empty for your convenience.
The surrounding are not fancy, but there are some good ethnic restaurants (Turkish, Indian etc) and anyway with a 10 minute walk you’re at white chapel that is full of fancy restaurants. Since it’s not city center the price of the restaurants are very affordable, and you can have a full dinner for 15£

Overall was a great experience, nothing fancy but definitely a good stay.

This is a very basic Holiday Inn. Clean and modern. Rooms are fairly large for European and London standards. Bus stop is just across the building and there are 2 metro (tube) stations. One is 5 min. walk and the other is around 10mins with good connections to central London in 15mins. Breakfast is not that great and unless you get it complementary then it dose not worth the 15£/person charge. Beds are so uncomfortable and the King bed is basically 2 twins joined together with flat pillows and hard mattresses. No electrical outlet next to bed! No kill switch next to bed to turn off all the loghts. Staff friendly and helpful. Royal Hospital of London is just behind the hotel and you can get there walking in 5mins. The area is not a typical touristic London. And for the price you pay you would find better alternative options central unless you are in this particular area for an event/business. The area has many Indian/Pakistanis Halal restaurants. Free wifi is provided as always to all IHG members and for non IHG members the membership is free and you can sign up at the front desk any time. If you are staying with points maybe, if paying cash then it is way overpriced for the room quality you are getting. Otherwise service is superb.

As a first time visitor to London, I was sorta at odds as where to stay and what to do while i was visiting that awesome place. Well, my stay at the Holiday Inn at White chapel turned out to be a very nice experience because of the people who I encountered. It would not do justice just to say 'the staff'... Ladies, please take a bow: Macarena, Adriana, Cristina,,Maura, Anda, Sonia and the rest of you Salah, Ayon, William Shaikul, Richard, Luigi..m I made sure I got acquainted with everybody's name for I believe in giving credit to whom is due...Hopefully, I did not leave any of you great people out...You All made a pleasure of a my stay. The room was tops and service as well.....I shall be back!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn. over Easter - from the 4th - 6th. and it was a great experience.

Very friendly staff! Very helpful, smiling and with a great attitude. Bilal and Estzer especially

Room was very nice. Good size, nice and clean with plenty of space. Shared a room with twin beds and it was very comfy.
No noise from the street or otherwise.

Had breakfast which was very good. Plenty of everything at a good price. Great service and there were nothing missing.

Only slight minus was a very late housekeeping but with a full hotel it's understandable.

All in all a great pleasure and will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hotel in east London with clean rooms, a lovely entrance with sofas and all in a modern design for an affordable pricing.
What striked me was the extremely polite and helpful staff that did everything to make your stay ass good as possible!
Also excellent is the free wifi which at all times had a great connection and availability throughout the hotel.
The only negative thing, and why one star is missing is it's suboptimal location. It's placed in a neightbourhood with lot of poorer people and/or with a lot of immigrational background. To get to Whitechapel underground i.e. you need to pass a soupkitchen...
But the hotel itself is excellent!

I attended the Holiday Inn Commercial Road for a work seminar. I travelled from Cambridge for the event. After a dreadful journey it was pleasant to enter a nice clean well organised hotel. All the guests I saw having breakfast looked happy. We had a small buffet and to be honest it wasn't great but after a complaint it improved by lunch. The business rooms are well equipped, spacious and have air condition. I would recommend this hotel for business events however, it's not in the best location and not the easiest place to get to. For me it was fine definitely a 9/10 for all the features you expect from a hotel

Stayed one night here. Upon arrival asked for the location of secure overnight parking for my motorcycle that I had previously been told would be available. When Joanna, the manager, discovered it had closed for the night she allowed me to park my bike in the hotel underground delivery dock! Now that is quick thinking and excellent customer service. Rooms are very comfortable and tastefully designed, staff all very friendly and efficient, room service meal was very good, on demand TV and movie system is excellent. Feels more like a modern boutique hotel than a Holiday inn! Will definitely stay here again.

Good customer service in some ways. Thank you to Salaah for helping me with run route options in the morning. However their customer service is bad in other ways. I asked for cab on departure. No one bothered to mention that their cab service that they use only uses BMW and Mercedes Benz. Not that u can't afford it but if you're using such a particular service, at least do the client the courtesy of letting them know this in advance so I know whether I'm comfortable with that.
Room was supposed to be quiet but the AC when off makes so much noise I couldn't even sleep.

On arrive the front desk the customer service was satisfactory. When going for lunch the waiter, did not ask me if I wanted my steak rare, done, or we'll done. She told me that the chief always cooks his food rare, so I asked her can I have my steak well done as when I cut threw it was streak it was still pinky/red, very poor customer service. The room, bed was nice comfortable, toilet had a blockage water flow could not go down as per normal. On departure the next morning breakfast was really nice, hot at all times.

The double rooms don't have refrigerators. There isn't an ice machine either but you can get a glass full from the bar. The elevator is super fast which is convenient. The location seemed a little sketchy at first but after the first day it was fine. They're are markets, stores and a 24 hour McDonald's very close. The tube stops are kind of a hike. I had problems connecting to the wifi but a guy at the front desk connected our phones for us. He knew exactly what he was doing like it happens a lot.

I stayed here for the first time after being familiar with some of the other Holiday Inns around East/South-East London, and would recommend this one as one of the if not the best of them.

The room which I had was clean and comfortable, with an iron & ironing board in the room. There was also a good range of items and juices available at breakfast.

The hotel is only about a 5 minute walk from the Shadwell DLR station, very convenient to get to, definitely will be staying here again soon.

Leannda was the most spectacular of all the receptionists. Even though all of the staff were friendly and helpful and generous on helping us find our way through London. I loved the service and professional quality service I received while staying there for five days. Every day I stayed I did not want to leave. Thank you for the professional service and wonderful hospitality.

The rooms and hotel were great. The car service they hired for us to take to the airport was very poor. We had two separate terminals to be dropped off at and once we arrived to the first terminal the driver wanted 20 additional pounds from the prearranged fare to take the rest of us to the 2nd terminal. I feel the hotel should know who they are hiring for their customers.

Area isn't that good but the hotel is right in between of the DLR line and Whitechapel tube which is perfect. There's a Tesco around the corner for some quick supplies.

Hotel room itself was super clean but averaged sized. Hotel mean was great and breakfast had an adequate.

Friendly staff and I was allowed to leave my bag after checkout.

Perfect place to visit the city. Is in the center so it has a lot of facilities to acces the public transport. The rooms are really big, clean and with a nice modern style. The staff is excellent, concretly we met Guiseppe a really friendly receptionist, really attentive and retailer and with the best recommendations of Londres. I strongly recommend this place!

nice room with big bed and window, close to bus stop and grocery stores. okay staffs, mediocre housekeeping. there is no 'do not disturb' sign you can hang so in the morning housekeeping just barged in when we were sleeping. the kettle was dirty and dusty. it sucks you can use internet with only two devices. radiator makes weird and loud noise.

The hotel was quite nice, staff were friendly. The only issues I have were; there was a noise in my room which wasn't constant and kept waking me up during the night, it was something like the aircon or pipes from above. Also there isn't much choice to sit and eat in a restaurant. If you're a fan of kebab/halal/chicken you will be sorted!

The location is good. When I entered I was greeted by a kind employee who leaded me up the conference room I was looking for. The conference room was featured with everything they needed: projector, computer, chairs, tables, water, glasses, pen and paper, all with their logo on it. The service at the bar was also nice.

What a wonderful experience. The staff were the most friendly and accommodating I have ever met. From the Hotel manager to catering staff to the cleaners they genuinely cared and went out of their way to look after you. The rooms were immaculate and well presented.

Thank you again for a lovely stay.

Been there in early 2014 when the hotel was quiet brand new. Friendly staff and a nice room for a reasonable price. The subway isn't that close but distance okay to walk. Just a bit curious that they can't tell you the dimensions of the room safe in advance to determine if the laptop fits or not.

The staff are wonderful. Honestly so hospitable and a complete pleasure to deal with.

Room decor and layout is great. Good value for money.

Only issues would be the pillows are not the best quality and there is no view. Though if i needed to stay in the area i would book again

Really nice hotel - would stay there again - great location close to the East London Mosque and food places - walking distance to Shadwell Tube and DLR via a market which reminded me of Only Fools and Horses - The Whitechapel station is not that far either. Really nice breakfast and service.

The hotel was very modern and the rooms were quite clean and spacious (a huge bed is always a plus!). I had a problem with the reservation my company had made and the staff really went out of their way to help me solve it. I would have given it 5 stars had it not been for the location.

Nice clean room. Comfortable bed. Neighbourhood feels a little dodgy but OK. Enjoyed the breakfasts. Fast, easy access to DLR at Shadwell, Overground at Shadwell, at bus stop at well (Watney). Wife and I enjoyed our stay. Staff were always polite and helpful. Would return again.

We had a fantastic time staying here for my wife's birthday, Hotel had a fantastic atmosphere, staff were very very friendly and always had a smile. Fantastic touch by suppling a free bottle of bubbly for her birthday, would definitely stay here again with no hesitation.

Typical holiday inn facilities which are good. The breakfast consisted good varieties of foods. The staffs in the cafe are friendly. However, the location is not that good. It takes 10 mins walk to the nearest tube station. Taking this into account, the price should be lower.

Helpful, friendly, professional staff....central location to our needs....great variety at breakfast, good room service choices! Comfortable, quiet, clean rooms in safe neighborhood near public transportation, also taxi service at front door....practically perfect for us.

Probably the best Holiday Inn in the UK. Fresh, large modern rooms, attentive staff. Basic facilities but as somewhere to eat and sleep it's as good as it gets. Excellent access to DLR, Underground and Overground rail. Shops, pubs and restaurants nearby.

A little gem in the heart of East London. So close to the city, and some great Indian food close by. Rooms are much bigger than usual London rooms with a cute bathroom. Service is good and hotel is clean all around. This hotel is quiet, which I liked.

Very expensive given the low rent location and surroundings. Pretty basic at this price and was given an accessibility room without being asked with a small bed and accessibility shower arrangement that wasn't the best for an able bodied person.
