If you drink Carling & like it in a Carling glass (as you would) don't bother! They've never got a Carling glass when I go there! Sometimes certain staff will have a look for one, some can't be bothered and it's the only Wetherspoon's that I know, that will not put Carling in another brand of lager glass, 'can't do it, against company policy'? They can put it in a real ale pot though and you can watch the effervescence drain out of it in 5 minutes?
I wonder if it' 'company policy' to watch customers walk out the door dissatisfied because they can't be arsed to wash-up!!!!!!

The food here was awfull. Ive given it a 1 star & if there was a 0 that is what I would of rated what was served up on our plates this morning.
We ordered 4 breakfasts.... 3 adult breakies & 1 for a child. Our food was stone cold when it was bought to our table, so we sent it back.
We then had to wait a further 15/20mins for the food to come out again. When the 2nd attempt finally arrived, it was hot, but the bacon was cremated! I heard other people complaining about the food to. Very bad food, It was a complete waste of money & we would never eat here again.

Good food at great value. The quality of food served is good. It's served hot and reasonably well presented. It's not going to win any competitions but I would happily eat here. And the food is very good value - so much so that I was surprised by how low the bill was. Service is not too bad either with friendly staff who are willing to help. I do recommend this place. There just is a missing something that stops me giving it 5 stars.... perhaps the clientele or the lack of... class... not sure what it is that is missing but overall good place to eat.

One of two J D Werherspoon locations in Stafford town centre. This one is more styled like a cocktail bar and tends to attract casual shoppers or office workers that are in the area. Food, service and layout on the whole is excellent. Staff tend to be friendly. It can be busy at peak times (lunch, early evening, weekend evenings) but there's much quieter times too. Pricing is excellent, a good place to meet with others or for a meal while out.

Nice decor and atmosphere. Staff always polite but seem stressed and overworked which sometimes comes across when serving you. Not their fault. Food usually reasonable but have not been up to standard on last 2 visits - fish in batter seemed stale and chewy - suspected it had been re fried; then breakfast which was on the cold side with rubbery eggs and burned tomato. Don't know if I'll go back but tends to be handy when I meet my daughter.

Really good bar service, served efficiently and quickly. The food wasn't of great standard, very dry chicken strips and the chips were too bland with no flavour. Also the lady who brought our meals and took them away was not very welcoming and seemed to be more interested in getting us out of the pub. The iced smoothies were lovely and the pub was a cool environment for the summer day

Went in for their large breakfast which has always been fantastic at other Wetherspoons pubs. Paid extra for black pudding which was burnt. They replaced it with equally burnt black pudding (it was crunchy). They also forgot my bacon which came later when I had almost finished. Disappointed as this Wetherspoons has a better atmosphere than the Picture House but this was poor.

This is a Wetherspoons establishment. The staff were friendly and helpful. The offering was standard Wetherspoons but saying that it was very good and very well priced. Coffee was from a machine but easy to use and you got as much as you wanted for a fixed price. The place was clean and tidy. Only downside was the toilets up some challenging stairs.

MOST of the staff are polite and welcoming.

Food is reasonable at a reasonable price.

The place is often over crowded and you struggle to get a seat especially on evenings.

Great selection of drinks.

( I wrote thus original review about a year ago. The menu has since been changed and selection is poor)

Given an off pint of san migal complained a very stroppy manager just said our pipes are clean its tastes fine even the guy next to me could smell it was off, told if i want another one i would have to pay for it, this after waiting 8 mins due to lack of staff on a busy night not a nice place to visit .

The place was busy when I visited with family.

The food i had was a Hotdog, although the picture i have posted of it looks brilliant the sausage was like a cheap one but look gourmet.

The drink variety in this place is amazing with everything you would expect of a Wetherspooons.

Its the only pub in Stafford (and possibly the region) which offers my favourite cask beer (Chimay).

Although a Wetherspoons it does have an individual character about it, hence a 4* instead of 3. I don't offer 5* to pubs without music, sports or games (such as pool or darts).

Not too sure about these places there are two of them in our town a lot of people go in mainly for the alcohol but the food is very good and very reasonable no immediate car parking it is wheelchair accessible and toilets for disability are accessible by disability key

I have been here 3days in a row now. Each I have tried a different meal. Couldn't recommend this place enough. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is child friendly and very accommodating for person's willingness allergies. Again great place for food.

Prefer to visit during the day when it is not so busy. The lack of soft furnishings means it can get quite noisy when the numbers are up. The 'prison cells' are novel tables for four. Like all other Wetherspoons they serve our favourite coffee, Lavazza.

So much nicer than the Picture House. Friendly staff. We'll cooked food. The best bowl of chips in town and of course the unbelievably low cost of drinks. A pint of great beer and a double gin and tonic for the missus for less than six quid. RESULT.

Two weeks running there's been no steaks on Steak Night.
Wetherspoons staff have told me various differing stories as to why but NOT the real one concerning the Food Standards Agency & their steak supplier Russell Hume .

Really nice place to go at anytime. Great breakfasts and dinners with brilliant selection of drinks and pitcher cocktails. Service always has been nice. Prefer this to the other Wetherspoons the other side of town.

One of my favourite places for food in Stafford. Food always cooked to perfection. Friendly staff. I love to go there in the winter time as there's real fireplace to keep you warm and cosy. Highly recommended.

Atmosphere is lovely. Unfortunately the food isn't.

Steak was over cooked. Chicken was really dry and the chips were undercooked.

Picture house is a lot lot better for a Wetherspoons

Food was lovely but wasn't what we ordered.
We did say to a member of floor staff but were told we were wrong. So I left it at that as I don't like to make a scene especially as it was busy.

Breakfasts are always good and quick if you're in a hurry. Foods great in the afternoon and evening, service is with a smile and everything is well priced for what you get. Always happy to come here.

Food was good. Service was good but the noise level was shocking. It was mainly due to the acoustics but the woman on the table near to us had a screaching laugh that was unbearable. Had to leave.

Wasn't busy when I came in. Straight to the bar to order. Fast and efficient service. Food at my table quite quickly. Served hot. All Day Brunch was a filling meal. Enjoyable atmosphere.

Nice pleasent friendly staff. Very efficient. The pub is a good size with a good sized beer garden but it could do with more seating. Some of the seats inside are rather uncomfortable.

Good food , lovely decor , nice place BUT terrible /awful staff and useless duty manger who couldn't be bothered to want to even know about minor issue , hence this review !

Great food, nice atmosphere and lots of space which means noise levels aren't too bad if you go with friends and want to have conversations without needing to shout.

Wetherspoons trying it's hardest to be a 'bar' rather than a 'pub'.

Somewhat successfully, but it's just not quite there.

Decent Weatherspoons. Only really come here for the odd meal every now and then with my little girl. Foods half decent. Can get busy at times tho. Pretty tidy.
