In (attempting) to book this hotel directly from their website a duplicate booking was created (clearly a mistake by their subsidiary M&C Reservations Services Limited). Once a charge was confirmed, all further requests were denied by the fraud department of the credit card. Upon booking my assistant received two emails. The first email stated that the booking was confirmed. The second stated the booking was pending and to contact the hotel. The bank was contacted first to see what took place and confirmed that the hotel was attempting to double charge for the room and the second charge was being declined. My assistant then reached out to the hotel via email with this information. The response was that the reservation would be canceled unless a 'valid' form of payment was called or faxed in. My assistant again directed the staff that a duplicate booking existed. The staff disregarded this information and continued for nearly a week to threaten cancelation, request a duplicate charge and ask for another form of payment even after submitting screen shots of a confirmed charge. It took NINE days of requesting that a manager resolve the issue that was clearly on the hotels side of the transaction. Just as I had my assistant prepare a listing of alternate hotels and report this hotel for fraudulent business a 'reservation manager' got involved and confirmed that their system was attempting to double charge for the room due to duplication. A simple apology was offered with a room upgrade - How quaint - Normally, I would strongly suggest to my clients to avoid situations such as this as it rarely turns itself around. However, I will proceed and provide a follow up FULL REVIEW on this establishment. #hotelreviews #millenniumGloucesterHotelLondonKensington #London

A tired, faded hotel. I arrived late (11pm ish) and my prepaid room 'was not available' so I was given an obvious backup room. Extraordinarily tiny it was also plainly not used much. When I entered there was no heat in the room (none, it was freezing cold) and the thermostat was off/broken. Initially I was told to wait for maintenance but I left the room to complain. I was given another room which was better (larger, had heat) which then made me ask why I wasn't given that room originally? I was offered a free breakfast for my trouble. The new room was probably a 4 star room at some point, perhaps the late 90s, and was in dire need of repair. Carpet was so stained I left my socks beside my bed so I didn't need to walk on the carpet barefoot. The blinds were torn in the middle such that light from the street and in the morning came in. The heating rack for towels was broken with a sign beside it that said 'this isn't a heating rack'. There was a piece of furniture missing (you could see the imprints on the carpet). The walls had significant damage. The bed was clean and fine though. That and the location are the only items to move this hotel to 2 stars. Lots of better options in the Earls Court area. Will not return.

When I walked into the hotel, I was greeted by some staffs at the door and in the lobby. They are so friendly and smiley and I felt delighted to see them which an image I think a renowned hotel should have. BUT when I walked to the front desk, it was a vast different. To have a set of staffs at the front desk who do not seem so welcoming is really ironic and sad. The lady who checked us in, Ms Maria, is a total disappointment. When I enquired if there is a possibility for me to have a twin size bedroom (which was already assigned to me which I didn't know), she turned me down immediately, citing that the hotel is full. She should have listened to my request and check, cos it is silly to turn down a customer's request without even bother to listen. While processing the room key, she sighed loudly right infront of me and my travelling companions. Is it a sign of fatigue or she is so tired serving in the front desk. There are some other body language and gesture that told me that she is simply not interested in delighting the hotel guests. I sometimes wonder how these people are being selected in representing your hotel and if your organisation do give them sufficient training in customer services .

Stayed here about 4 times, but felt this time standards had slipped, no information in rooms, no information on phone to ring down to desk (we had very noisy guests in Next room, laughing screaming, shouting, up until 5 in the morning!!!), no waste bin in bedroom, mould around the bath, and big lump of hair behind telephone on dressing table, but most of all in the bar downstairs you used to be served at your table, not anymore (well certain people are) you have to go to the bar yourself, no problem there you might think but!!! you are charged service charge, I thought you only paid this for a service eg restaurants, cafes etc, tables were left full of dirty dishes, and glasses, we had to ask waiter to clean our table as it was full of croissant crumbs and used napkins, which he did rather begrudgingly, never in all the times we've been have we experienced anything like it was this time, I was really looking forward to returning as it was a surprise present from my family, I came with my daughter as usual, but used to have my late mum with us also, so the hotel has very happy memories, so come on Millennium, go back to your great standards so we can keep recommending you to others

This is not a 4 star hotel.

First the bad...The bed is crooked, it slants to one side. The carpet is extremely dirty looking. The shower fixture is broken. It works but pieces are falling off, and the cleaning staff just keeps placing the broken pieces on top of the fixture, but not attaching the pieces or fixing it. Our tv turned itself on in the middle of the night so we called the front desk to ask how to fix that and the lady was very short saying that when you push the power button on the remote it doesn’t turn the tv off and that we had to manually turn it off on the tv itself. Fine. Maybe TVs are different here. Not five seconds after I pushed the button on the tv it turned on again. We called again and she was even more rude, really acting as if we were just stupid. She told us to call the manager. I’m not in the mood to make an argument with anyone, we just wanted to know what we should do. Anyway we unplugged the TV.

Now the good...The gentlemen at the concierge desk are very helpful, and the breakfast which was included is very nice.

The price is very good for London, from what I hear, but don’t expect a 4 star. It’s just not.

nice hotel in an excellent location near gloucester rd station but needs an upgrade. the furniture is worn on the bedrooms. other than that i was very happy with my room. it was larger than most hotels in london. the bed was huge and comfortable. the fridge was not crammed full with mini bottles so i could store my juice and water. there were two tables for writing and eating and i could move around. the bonus was that there was a bathtub! the hotel room i stayed at in 2015 was very small and there was no tub. there is a lot of walking in london so it was good to be able to soak at the end of the day.

there was some confusion when i checked in as the woman who checked me in initially before 2 pm did not realize that I was to receive at 15 pound food and beverage credit each day. when i came back to pick up my key after 2 the new person behind the counter realized that i was to receive the credits and wrote my coupons while i waited. i used my coupons for breakfast and was satisfied with the breakfast options.

overall i had a very good experience.

Been here for many leisure trips to London over the years. Great location close to Gloucester Road tube, bars and restaurants, and tube from Heathrow, nice staff too generally. BUT the place is overrun with young Arab males in summer staying for what seems to be lengthy durations. I couldn't care about that were it not for them banging doors at all hours, talking loudly and phones going off in the corridor and rooms in wee small hours when wife and I trying to sleep. They seem truly nocturnal and it seems like its away from home and 'party time'. Been getting more of a problem over the years we've visited. Not convinced management are intent on really sorting it out (after repeated calls to reception to no avail and me getting the 'we are guests too' from them when challenging them directly) given the income stream they must generate for them. Won't be back, which is a pity given it used to be fine.

For a large hotel with a diversity of customers, the Millennium Gloucester delivered a consistency with staff friendliness and helpfulness including the restaurant hostess and wait personnel, reception, concierge and maintenance staff. We stayed for a week, and our room was exceptionally quiet and functional. The housekeeping supervisor came to our room to inquire about our satisfaction. The features that particularly impressed us were the fast-responding elevators, the large, plush bathroom towels and the very generous breakfast choices. Of course the proximity to the Tube - just a few steps away saved much time and energy. Also having Waitrose and Boots around the corner gave additional convenience. Other reviews have focussed on the aging appearance of the room decor, but that is rather insignificant in exchange for the great value this hotel offers.

Absolutely disgusting service! This was the worst hotel experience I have had in a while. My work place booked the hall for an event which included a buffet and free soft drinks. A friend and I helped ourselves to desserts like everyone else and half way through our meal a manager came over, shouted at us and accused us of being greedy. He yelled 'there is certain etiquette you must follow at a buffet, you can't possibly eat that many'. He snatched our plates from our hands and reserved our food to other people at the event. I KID YOU NOT! Not only was he disgustingly rude by publicly humilating myself and my friend but he completely disregarded health and saftey by reserving our food to new comers. Seriously this place is a terrible decision! There are many better hotels in London! I will advise my company to never use this hotel again.

I barely ever leave a negative review, but in this case, if I could leave less than one star I would. One of the worst events teams I have ever come across... To name a few reasons: they are unpunctual with their communication, and when theie replies do finally come along (several days later), their replies are riddled with more coersive language than actual feedback to any inquiry a client sends along. They spend most of their time trying to convince clients they're busy and that the client risks losing a space than they actually attempt to upsell their own services... Having spent a good chuck of my years servicing an array of international clients, in the capacity of an event designer and branding consultant, I would never recommend this establishment to anyone looking to hold an event in London .

I’m so torn about this hotel. I’d probably give it l a 3.7. The location is amicable because of the closeness to the UnderGround. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and the price was right. So stayed two nights so I dealt with the cold room and street light outside my room window (no black-out curtains). I wondered if my son and I were just given the worst room in the place and maybe all the others were much nicer. I’d say the lobby and first floor business area were the most updated and attractive areas. The bedroom furniture was so outdated. Drawers slanted, furniture chipped and carpet corners lifting. Very in need of a makeover/renovation. In summary, if just a couple of nights and like me you are looking for a deal on the stay...go for it! If aesthetics matter to you then maybe not.

Having attended a corporate meal today I am astounded by the lack of professionalism and piss poor planning demonstrated by hotel management. There was an alarming shortage of food for an exclusive event which resulted in guests not receiving desert, due to this a manager decided to come to my table and remove a colleagues plate after telling her she couldn't possibly need that much food. She didn't have too large a portion and it was buffet anyway so there should have been more than enough food for everyone. How a manager can come and reposses a plate of food and serve it to other customers is beyond me and surely goes against a number of health and hygiene laws. Staff seemed unmotivated and untrained. I would definately not recommend this establishment to anyone.

I stayed here on May 3rd, 2018 as my last night in England after spending almost 2 weeks touring the country. Worst hotel of the trip! They spent money upgrading the lobby but the rooms need a complete facelift! Paint peeling on wall the size of my hand, extremely outdated furnishings right out of 1970's, and there was hair in the tub when I went to shower. Shower curtain had actual chunk of some dirt on inside I found when starting to wash! If I hadn't been completely exhausted and it wasn't my last night before flying home, I would have complained LOUDLY. I just wanted to sleep and go home at that point! I'd skip this place if I were you. Not being rude, just truthfull.
Had great experiences in other hotels. This was the only stinker!

Nice enough Hotel, but absolutely ruined by the way their Car Operator works. I visited the Hotel for a conference. The payment machine was not functioning correctly and I tried to pay at reception. This couldn’t be done. I tried to phone them from the number on the machine and via the web from the car park. No luck. On returning home I contacted them to try to pay again and the automatic notice on sending them an email was they would be in touch in 2 days.

Two days later I received a mail saying I would receive a letter. This letter was a demand for £100 with a reduction if paid immediately.

Absolute scoundrels ... abusing the system to price gouge customers.

These guys are the best. Yes the Hotel is elegant and is perfectly positioned in Kensington but what sets them apart is after arriving at 640AM a wretched night in a sleeper car from Edinburgh where the mattress was shedding fiberglass so that every inch of me itched and my AirBNB did not open until 3pm, these folks answered the phone at 5 AM while inbound on the train, confirmed a room would be available for a 7AM check in and gave me a rate under $200 to boot. They were kind and understanding and I slept the day away. This is what customer service looks like. Front Desk staff was aces!

Friend's birthday party celebration. Had drinks in one of the reception rooms downstairs which was super roomy. Then moved to the second floor for the actual bash. I wasn't excepting the room to be that nice but it was beautiful. Super high glass ceilings and glass walls. It was late in the evening so not sure whether the glass walls and ceilings are see through. Dance area a bit smaller than expected but I suppose it depends on the number of guests. Bar to the side and great service from waiting staff. Reception staff and Porters super helpful and polite.

Buyer beware!
This hotel offers very low quality customer service and accommodation.
The air con doesn't work in any room. The decor is very worn. The fridge is empty and not cold. Room service doesn't show up. The heated towel rails have a sign which says they do not heat.
There is no fresh cooked breakfast, or good quality coffee. The waiters/waitresses don't speak English.
If all the above sounds appealing then you're in for a treat. If not, then you'll be better off elsewhere.

It was a good place to stay, but the rooms could use a little renovation and could be cleaner. On the plus side, our room was quite spacious.
My other main issue was that the internet was a little on the slow side. I was getting speeds of roughly 250kb/s. Also, the quality of the room service food was disappointing.
The staff was generally nice, but some of the from desk people were a little rude during morning times.
I think with some upgrades, this could truly be a gem located in a fantastic spot in London!

Lovely, attentive staff. We took a chance and got here 3 hours prior to check-in and we were lucky that the front desk were able to check us in straight away. Hotel is very nice and cosy. Bathroom is a bit small but still nice. Only issue was that housekeeping knocked on the door (twice) at 9:30am which woke us up after a late night out on a Saturday morning. We only stayed for 1 night so housekeeping was not necessary. Other than that, couldn't fault our stay at all. Will definitely be back. :)

Good location, comfy bed. I give it 2 star due to a series of outrageous experiences with their housekeeping staff. They once knocked on all my colleagues’ door to ask when we will check out. Company has prior arrangements, for past 25 years with them and they should know better or check with reception before they disturb guests’ rest. Yesterday they made me wait for one hour for a room, they haven’t got a cleanup room. I will never come here by choice.

What a disappointment. Such a lovely property to look at, completely let down by the ineptitude and laziness of the staff. Two room changes and an hour's wait for room service (two sandwiches!). Please do yourself a favour and book another hotel for your stay. This may be a four star hotel in the brochure but the service is reminiscent of Fawlty Towers, except that it's not funny, just extremely frustrating. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Attended a 3 day summit workshop at the Millennium. The conference room facilities was quiet comfortable, room temperature was a little cold. It would have been nice if the toilets were much closer to the conference room. Staff were very friendly especially the young lady who attended to the ladies toilet beside reception (well done).
Lunch was delicious, staff made sure all my needs were met with top satisfaction

We had two rooms for 3 nights, both of the rooms had problems with A/C. We requested the basic right which is wether to change the Room or fix the A/C. They respond we know that the A/C is broken but we have nothing to do.

They did not even refund our money back

Further, they did not provide us any notice regard the A/C before we arrived and they didn’t agreed to put that in writing.

Only if I can give a lower score. This is a hotel doesn't care about their guests, hosting their event with loud noise even in midnight. If you can afford NOT to sleep at night, then you just stay with them. By the way, the hotel is aged, the facilities are aged, not even double glazing, shower and bathroom are aged. Manager will NOT deal with your request and you have to stop the noise by yourself.

I use this hotel as a meeting venue. It's convenient in London just next door to the Gloucester Road tube. The hotel itself is excellent value for money considering it's location. The meeting rooms I have used are perfectly fine for an internal meeting, they are abit tired As are the bedrooms but perfectly adequate. The staff are helpful but trying to find one sometimes can be a little tricky!

Located conveniently next to Gloucester Road tube station, this hotel offers a well priced room close to the city. Check in was fast and smooth. Staff friendly and welcoming. Rooms could do with a face lift but you don't come all the way to London to sit in a hotel room. The important thing is the bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean. Enjoyed my stay here and would stay again.

I booked at 8:30 pm having missed last Eurostar. I was upgraded, check in and bags in my room in less than 10 minutes. Large, immaculate room, fantastic mattress AND pillows, tidy refrigerator, big bath. Best night sleep in memory. A bit of a labyrinth with corridors. I am only intetest in very clean and very comfortable. Hip Hip is not my style. Rest, recovery and value are mine.

Had a really bad stay here, they didn't have the extra bed setup for us and we had to do it ourselves even though we mentioned it twice. The sink plug was missing in our room. The kids VIP extra I bought for my daughter went totally wrong and missed half of the stuff from it.. Someone else may have had the perfect stay but for me and my family on that day it was poor.

Went there for business trip. Great sized conference rooms for big or small events. Staff were always friendly and happy to help. Rooms were spacious and had all necessities in, although the iron was not a steam iron. Only downside was the food was not amazing, but this may be due to our team of 200 coming in. It was more like a posh buffet. Overall an amazing experience

Great hotel in a fantastic position. All the staff I encountered during my visit were polite and helpful throughout my stay here. The facilities were as expected and had everything I needed. The only slight downside from me is that the decoration and facades need in places to be updated, some areas, including my room were very tired, but still clean and fit for purpose.
