I went to the beach recently with some family and we had lunch at this café, but it was VERY popular. Too popular unfortunately. While it had ample staff all working hard all inside tables were full (very cold outside as it was winter) and there was even a waiting list for the available tables! The queue stretched out the entire length of the café but was quick enough to get through. Don't get me wrong it was a nice place but a bit too busy. I had gammon, egg, and chips. It was all very nice except the gammon was extremely tough, and I was without a sharp knife. Even so it was an enjoyable day out.

The best beach front restaurant/cafe for all your needs. Coffee is delicious and hot. Food excellent, whether it's breakfast or lunch. They are not open in the evening. Large seating area outside. The staff are brilliant, the service quick and professional. Beautiful view of goring beach. Fantastic for kids and families and also the elderly. Home cooked food and home baked delicious cakes and scones. Dog's allowed in the outside seating area. Water provided for dogs. Toilets available and all a stone's throw from goring beach.

Great place to visit in summer being right on the beach . Always packed lunch time so beware , staff are young and do a good job they are loads of them so you won't wait long for your order. Table sharing is the norm so do ask as most tables are fours, it's not the place for quiet reflection. Food is very good and portions will satisfy most. Beware it's not cheap ! But the parking free and you can spend all day there. Down side I have to say are the toilets which aren't sea lanes .they are dank and horrible.

Our first time here. On arriving it was very busy and we had to be waiting 20 minutes plus to be seated. No one told us that once seated it wasnt waiter/waitress service so we then had to get up and go and order our own food after having been sat at a table for about 15 minutes. It all would have been a lot quicker for the cafe too, had we known that. However, the food was of good quality and very nice. Would highly recommend. If you can fit in a dessert - go for the Black Forest Gateau!

Had a nice pleasent experience here
Not to busy as the weather was not so good
so was able to get a nice seat by the window
Food was good but a tad expensive as had the sausage beans and chips & asked for an egg with it & was charged £1.50 for one egg but hey i suppose they have to make a living
plenty of friendly staff here so dont have to wait to long for food
Yes will eat here again, nice views and friendly staff.

Always busy here and you may struggle to find a seat at lunchtimes or during the weekends. You'll need to find a seat first before you order as they give you a ticket with an order number and will then bring it to your table. However, the food is generally of a good quality standard. Portion sizes for cakes are massive so if you have a sweet tooth then you'll enjoy the cakes. Service pretty prompt and attentive.

seating is not the best lay out',benches of 3 across 6 to a table, where a couple hog this space when this cafe is packed,a better table layout and design wanted but food, staff are very good and is a very popular cafe in a prime spot but the 6 seater tables, that are at times hogged are the only put off, even today a 1 off bod had the table to himself with just a cuppa and gentle folk do not like to intrude.

The scrambled egg with salmon on toast is almost perfection. And what a plateful you get to. Also breakfast no. 4 the sausage and bacon is gorgeous. On a sunny day like today the views of the channel and looking over to beachy head can rival anywhere. Service is quick and the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. The place is always busy which is testament to how good the place is.

Much treasured by locals, the Sea Lane Cafe can get very busy - however they are well staffed, service is quick and staff are friendly and helpful. The scones are giant and I recommend the cooked breakfast. This Cafe is very popular with families and dog walkers. FYI Not very accessible for those with mobility issues as there is a flight of stairs to enter the cafe.

A very popular, all year round, whatever the weather cafe right on the beach. Away from the town centre better for it and well worth the walk or drive. All bases covered ... Pots of tea, fish and chips, all kinds of hot and cold sandwiches, drinks for adults and kids plus ice creams, obviously. Free car parking. Dog friendly. Lovely views of the Sussex riviera.

Unfriendliest welcome ever. Matched only by the driest Belgian Bun. The staff inside were quite pleasant but outside, the ambiance was positively chilly and grumpy.

Great views and a decent Americano.

NOT dog friendly: luckily some kind customers offered to watch the dog for me.

I won't be coming back anytime soon.

Very popular cafe so you may have to queue for a bit.

Good portion sizes but the chips can be a bit 'dry' sometimes.

Lots of parking but due to its popularity finding a space can be challenging at times however there is limited on-street parking nearby.

Dogs welcome but not for the indoor tables.

Popular place on seafront with views Food is great and even at busy times is efficient Only regret is that it is not dog friendly inside Which doesn't matter in good weather when plenty of seats outside but means tend to boycott in winter period A shame they can't allocate one area inside for dog owners

Love it here. It's always busy no matter what time of year. Food not quite in the same league as the lobster pot in Felpham, but good enough no complaints here. Had to share a table because it's so busy and felt a bit rushed as the lad clearing tables tried to take my tray half way through my meal.

A 5* Cafe. Homemade Cake, great breakfasts, nice lunches n dinners and did I mention the cakes? (Big. Lots. Yummy.) Even a little ice cream beech shop underneath. Ample free parking, seating inside n out onto the beach. Busy, but deserves to be. A bit pricey but fair, worth it for the cake and Sea view.

Visited the cafe on a hot Friday afternoon. Good choice of hot and cold food. Attractively presented and served by friendly staff. Indoor seating area and plenty of tables outside. Sea view from the indoor and terrace areas. Car parking on site or on road parking (free). Highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere when sun is out anyway!
Good food and plenty of it. I had a well filled crab sandwich and my wife had jacket potato and prawns. Glass of wine each. Even found room later for a large slice of cake each. Goodness knows how I am going to eat my dinner tonight.

Fantastic venue for a quick bite or just chill and take in the view. Fantastic cakes and coffee.

The venue has seating outside that is wheelchair friendly, due to the steps you would need an able body to place an order and there are public toilets on the rear of the building.

spent a lot of my childhood summer months on the beach and in the sea, cannot recall the cafe there then. as an adult a great place too chill, grab a latte from the cafe and watch the world go by. very popular with all age groups, definitely fun for the children and dog walkers.

Great place not cheap for food but great view that's what you are paying for. Has a few disabled parking bays near the cafe and toilets. Access to top path by wheelchair should be better. Good promenade to Worthing good access and wide path area for everyone.

The sea lane cafe is very good. The staff are very friendly and efficient. They worked well and attentively under pressure. The fish goujons and chips were tasty and the Bakewell tart was out of this world. Will certainly go again!

Cafe seems an inadequate description for this place! Large outdoor seating space, plus booths indoors for a cold day. Huge range of cakes, great coffee and full meals. We particularly enjoyed the iced coffee and macaroons!

Good food, nice staff all round good place to chill..only downside was the lack of space for a que which ment people stood in front of the entrance. (But don't be put off by this, like I say staff n food top-notch!)

Good food here and big portions. It has a free car park but it can get busy. I recommend the cakes there is something for everyone. It is a good place to park have a walk along the beach then have a cup of tea and cake.

Expensive but worth it for a treat, nice to get a table easily when weather's bad. Good sized portions, the sweetest red onions and fresh salads. Cheesy chips good, hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows yum!

4 by Tracey Tunnicliffe Review source

Make sure you visit with a hearty appetite because the portions are large and very tasty - with a nice and friendly service staff. The cakes always look great too but I'm yet to save enough room to manage one.
