have stayed couple of nights in this hotel, let me talk briefly about the pros and cons during my stay.

First of all I will talk about Cons:

1- After checked in I found out the room has no mini bar and I have asked for it and they bring one next day and they place it on inappropriate place even it has a better place where it should. 2- They don’t offer amenities in the toilet not even a slipper and I asked for it and they bring one.
3- They don’t offer a complimentary water, at least during check in as most 4 star hotels around the world!
4- They don’t change Bed Sheets every third nights as said on their official website, they don’t care of the quality of the toilet cleaning nor the new bed sheets cleaning where I notice some spots on them, and they don’t refill tissues daily.
5- The disturbance of housekeeping in the early morning make it uncomfortable, plus the doors has no soundproof.
6- During night Christmas the fire alarm goes off on the middle of night, and I don’t receive any written apologies for inconvenience!
7- They don’t have Room Service actually, all what I notice they transfer the call to “Bar” and they have “Tray charge” which cost £5!
8- Last night after talking with some receptionist about my stay, once I leave she was saying to her colleague that “This guy want everything straight...” well I found that some of them need training as they don’t know how to deal with guests.
9- The shower stream is so low, and the room lights is not adjusted as it should.

Now let’s talk about Pros:
1- The Hotel is new and modern.
2- It located in a great place near from malls, shops, bus stations, train station, and river.
3- Kindness of some staff/ receptionist and bartender.
4- The bed is comfy.
5- The warm DT cookies.
6- Late check out.

We stayed here on 28th October after we got married. We arrived around midnight and greeted by a lovely receptionist. Was given a warm cookie on arrival which was a nice touch. The room was lovely and the bed was comfy. When we woke up there was no tea making facility and we were gasping for a cup of tea so we called down to reception to send one up to us. Half hour later it had not arrived. By this point we felt totally dehydrated so we called down again and it finally turned up. When we arrived at reception we were charged a tenner for the tea including room service charge. Dont think we should have been charged the service charge as we had to wait for so long. All in all though it was a nice stay in a nice looking hotel with a great location.
On another note I have been looking at responses from the management for reviews left which werent too great. All the management seem to say is that they are looking into the issues flagged up. It would be more appropriate for the management to speak to the people who left the review and to offer them a reduction on their next stay. Obviously my beef was just over a cup of tea but other people seemed to have had a bit of a bad time in the hotel

I arrived at 10:45pm long drive.... hotel was lovely and although new feels warm.

My sleep was great although I did wake up once feeling guilty that I was resting whilst the lady I met on my arrival at reception was so tired and fed up hence my 2 stars for me it's all about when you arrive and the way you are welcomed and for me this did not happen - it's was 100% shocking a member of the team complaining how she just started her shift and was tired already first time at the hotel nothing explained , I felt like I was trying to make her happy which I did of course being a charmer and I hope she felt better when I went to my room but please hospitality is like Show business put on smile and make out that you are going to entertain like never before make people feel good.

Will I return no and I have stay weekly in Kingston and that sounds awful over something so basic but it's the little things not swanky light bulbs and polished floors it's about feeling like a customer that's it.

If I could have given Hawkers Bar & Brasserie 0 stars I would have, but that wasn't an option.

There was NO GREETING on arrival.
NO SERVICE at all for 45 minutes after arrival (for a booked 'Alice in Wonderland' Afternoon Tea for my daughter's birthday).
… there was NO DRINK offered, NOT EVEN WATER, in that time.

When the finally offered drinks there wasn't any 'normal' ENGLISH BREAKFAST TEA as they had ran out of it … ONLY earl grey or fruit teas were offered!

The sandwiches were hastily made as the chef wasn't aware of our afternoon tea booking!
(Cakes, not home made, ok)

We drank champagne with the food as the tea didn't arrive till we'd virtually finished the food.
We had to ask for glasses, plates and cutlery!

It was AWFUL experience all round - definitely NO magical Alice in Wonderland experience at all.

Absolute top address and recommendation on the square. Here it is a 'by Hilton' but here everything is as you expect it.
The hotel is central but not in the middle. On the edge of the center of Kingston. No 5 minutes to the center. Also right on the train station. Here you can have bad luck with the room if it goes directly to the train path.
Otherwise top. Room clean and modern and comfortably furnished.
However, there is a star deduction for paid WiFi access. Although there is a free but the is underground.
And if you get a room with a shower that is stylish and at ground level, there is a risk of flooding here. Apparently a design error. Can also be an isolated case, however, was the bathroom under water after a shower. Unfortunately, this also leaves stains on the light gray tiles.
Should I rehearse again in Kingston then surely in the Double Tree.

Most Unprofessional treatment of the guests on the Christmas day 2017.

Fire alarm forced me out of my room at 9.30am whilst I was in the shower and when they let us back inside the hotel at 9.45 they said they won't be serving breakfast after 10.00am because they had to prepare for Christmas lunch therefore forcing me to have breakfast in my pyjamas.

When I complained to the Kitchen manager he showed no remorse just start giving me a lecture about fire safety but at 9.45am there was no food in the breakfast bar because all the Cooks have gone out due to the fire and they made us wait another 15 minutes for the food to arrive.

Ruined my Christmas, an owefull experience

In my second week of staying at this hotel I have noticed an increase in professionalism in the restaurant staff, serving diners with more speed, effectiveness and dedication, the wait is already shorter and even the friendliest treatment, simply admirable change and effort of the staff in such a short space of time.
Even the laundry service has improved, I have not had to re-order new bags or forms at the reception every time I made a shipment, finding enough bags and forms in the room for the next few days.
Congratulations to the staff for the work they are doing, continue in that line and they will have guaranteed my respect and that of future clients.
A cordial greeting.

Didn't stay at the hotel- had a Groupon voucher for brunch and a glass of prosseco for 2. The restaurant and facilities were very clean. The brunch itself was very good and nice variety of items and that part of the deal was very good.
Now for the bad bits which totally ruined the experience - the waitress could barely speak English let alone understand it. The place was virtually empty yet the service was slow and lacklustre. Had to request butter and then milk and sugar be put on table. Wrong drinks served and the prosseco was worse than pomagne. They then compounded the poor service with getting the bill wrong. The venue was good, the food was good - the service was awful.

Fantastic stay for 3 night stay for work. Brand new hotel so rooms are immaculate and very well finished. My room had some imperfections where the sockets had dropped slightly but overall room as great.

The “fitness room” in the hotel is small and any frequent gym enthusiasts may have to get creative using the dumbbells and cable machine.

Hotel staff were extremely helpful and welcoming when I came into the hotel.

Breakfast was included with the stay and was just what is needed for a quick in and out breakfast to start the day.

Would recommend the hotel and will be suggesting to any of my colleagues visiting the site.

After complaining to Operations manager about horrendous service at restaurant the night before, went to room to find housekeeping had not cleaned floor, found trash under the bed, left dirty spoon as a stirrer. Restaurant have me white distilled vinegar instead of malt vinegar and said that's how it's done. Also offered Cesar dressing instead of tartar because ' that's how it's done.'

Everyone apologises but nothing is fixed! Terrible! Won't stay here again. Was not offered free drink or refund on points. Total disaster

Clean and modern. Upgrade on arrival as Hilton Honors member. Very polite friendly and helpful staff. Good location towards the main car park opposite bentalls Centre (near TGI Friday). Only negative is there is no hotel parking. You need to use the one opposite and pay for overnight stay - downside there is it is shut between 10pm and 7am so if you need an early start with your car, be aware and you'll have to move your car to the street. For us this was a minor issue as we had a late start on the Saturday so it didn't spoil our stay. Would stay again!

***edit: the pate gave everyone including myself food poisoning. Avoid!***

Attended a function of 100 people. The staff worked very hard but the food and speed of the meal was dreadful. The food was cheap, and sparse. Very loose pate for starter with the smallest piece of toast. Dry, overcooked salmon for our main and randomly sized slices of lemon tart for pudding with strange tiny dollops of cream. We sat down at 8pm, we had our main by 9pm and we didn't get pudding until 10pm. Very disappointing.

Came to reception and no one was there, waited a few minutes as obviously they can't have people there all the time. No one comes so we call the number we have for the hotel, we are redirected and the phone next to us wrings in the empty reception. After a while we ask the barman and he gets a bell boy who books us in. When we get to the room, it's a king sized bed for me and my father, clearly not what we booked. The rooms are dark and all corridors in the hotel smell. The gym looked pretty good tho.

One of the best DoubleTree hotels that I've stayed in. I stayed in room 717. The room was new and immaculate. The lobby was small but low desk and welcoming. When checking out there was no one at the desk but I got someone at the nearby bar to get a staff member. The beer taps in the bar were not working in the first night. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The car park is a short walk away and provided by a different company but with no discount for hotel guests.

Reception staff friendly and efficient, restaurant staff friendly but very slow and manager seems to walk around plays with computers but does not notice or serve customers. He walked right past our table 5 times last night without serving us and we had to wait nearly 20 minutes to be served even though we had menus and had to be seated in a quiet restaurant. Menu was good and food very nice. Bad nights sleep though due to very noisy air-conditioninng equipment.

A modern and new building in immaculate condition. It's ideally located for access to Kingston town centre; literally a very short walk. Although the hotel could be described as contemporary it retains a certain warmth. I attended a wedding fayre there recently and was very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. I have no doubt that attention to detail I witnessed would produce a seamless and wonderful day for any couple.

Warm cookies on arrival set the stage for a great stay at DoubleTree. The room had a very large bed especially for one and the pillows a delight. My room only had a shower but a large one at that. Had dinner in the restaurant and the staff were very attentive and friendly, same at breakfast. Parking is off site but just across the road so only a couple of minutes walk. Overall, a very nice, clean, spacious, friendly hotel and in a good location

No on site parking which is a bit of a pain and instructed to park in a multistorey nearby which when you turn up has signs saying no parking overnight. Anyway, we ignored them and all was fine.

Room was way to hot for us and AC struggled to bring it down to a reasonable temperature (automatically turns itself off too after a period).

Decour was lovely, bed was comfortable and breakfast was good so not all bad.

I attended the DoubleTree in Kingston for a Work Event. The venue is lovely and finished toa high quality as you would expect. The staff were very helpful and friendly and did all they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was also of a high standard. As I suffer with Dairy and Gluten allergies I was delighted that they were able to cater for me and really looked after my needs.

As a local I am writing about the bar and restaurant. Waiter service is terrible here. They don't understand the menu, v.slow inattentive service and they are talking to each other all the time. It's a shame because the bar and restaurant areas are very well designed and create a pleasant ambience. Food is good but nothing to shout about.

Visited this great brand new hotel on Christmas Eve. What a great Hotel!!! Loved the lobby, and bar. Food is great too and the rooms are just outstanding. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in London. Beats Hilton Parklane and Queensgate by miles yet it's less money. It's a must stay hotel on my list. Well done Double tree.

Great location outside of London. Within a 5 minutes walk there are great places to eat and shop. Also, about a 5 minutes walk to the Kingston station that takes you to downtown London. They have an amazing breakfast bar with a lot to offer. The people here are very friendly and will be nothing short of amazing.

One of the best of the Doubletree brand around. Staff excellent, particularly in the restaurant. Rooms very good value for money, particularly the corner balcony rooms. Restaurant has simplified the menu and dropped in quality a bit recently, but still good food. Views are from corner room.

Brand new 4 star hotel, rooms very well appointed, beds comfortable. Restaurant a particular highlight - although menue options were restricted due to soft opening, the food that was served was faultless and the wine a perfect match.

Very well located for public transport.

Very good place for remote working. Great bar and coffee facilities. Very strong WiFi connection and comfortable seating area. Good place for informal meetings. The decor is very modern and stylish. Staff are also very friendly. Central location nit far from station and riverside.

This hotel is super! The Brasserie style restaurant was very enjoyable; I suggest the puff pie! The bedrooms were modern and the shower fantastic. The bed was really comfy and the room quiet. I'll be staying there again if I'm in that area.

Food was good but the waitress was terrible. Orders were slow and incorrect. Our plates didnt get cleared and our cutlery wasnt replaced after our starter. Once the manager stepped in it got better, we got free drinks and the service was much better
