Worth a stay

- Location is definitely one of the strongest points of the hotel; very close both to the train station and the city centre; absolutely fantastic - also close to shops and pubs;
- Staff is very friendly and willing to help you have a lovely stay
- As already mentioned by other people, the beds are super comfortable, as are the pillows
- Cleaning takes place every day; lovely cleaning ladies
- TV works great, as does Wifi
- Lots of hangers for your clothes
- Nice large windows
- Large desk
- Nice thick curtains
- Very clean towels and bed sheets
- Quite a big bathroom compared to other similar hotels
- Good value for money

- The greatest disadvantage was the air con; we stayed here in January and the room was very cold; kept it on 26 degrees (maximum), but neither I, nor my parents were completely comfortable; at some point we even felt that even though the thermostat showed 26 degrees, it was actually blowing cold air; also - no instructions whatsoever for using the thermostat (there were several buttons on it that we had no idea what they were doing, had to Google it)
- The lighting system is...well let's keep it to 'strange'. It is absolutely the strangest lighting system I've ever seen; Very poor lighting (the poorest I've seen in any hotel thus far), lots of switches, some of whom operate the same light (?); no central source of light, just some lamps and one bigger light on the wall, somehow near one of the corners of the room (?). All in all, really strange.
- Quite small for a triple room
- The view was really poor
- The bathroom would benefit from renovation; one of the walls was quite chipped
- Very small trash bins
- Had a triple room, so one double bed + one single bed; there were no plugs near my bed (the single bed)
- The check in process took longer than expected
- The soap dispenser was a bit dirty

The hotel is situated opposite an NCP car park which gives discounts to guests of the Jury's Inn but I prefer to park in the Q car park a couple of hundred yards away.

Check in was relatively quick but I'm still amazed that you cant just sign in without lots of questions and form filling - especially if you've stayed before and have a loyalty card.

The room was a good size with a casual table as well as a desk but the armchair/easy chair was so uncomfortable that I preferred to sit on the more upright chair with the desk.

The Wifi was free, easy to connect to and seemed quite fast and I certainly had no problems with emails etc.

The main issue with the room was the lack of lights - reading in bed was fine as there were a couple of spots on the bed but trying to read by the desk was difficult as there was very little lighting there.

The bathroom/shower were fine with soap etc in a dispenser rather than small individual portions.

The bed and pillows were perfect for my tastes and I had an excellent nights sleep.

There is an excellent selection at the breakfast buffet and the hot food was reasonable quality but there were no teapots so tea had to be brewed in the mug.

The room was cold. After standing outside for a while for my sons graduation. Needed to get warm. Reception fixed problem from there end at the desk. I went for dinner hopefully to come back to a warm room. Still cold. Manager eventually came after a visit from one other person. I told her side light kept flashing on and off. And other light not working. I didn't want to be moved at this point as I was warming up inside the bed. So they offered to bring a heater in which I accepted with thanks. Room eventually heated up..by about 9 o'clock pm. I was more dissatisfied with not being asked if everything was ok with my room at handing over my key on departure. As I clearly wasint 100 percent. 70 odd pound a room a night. Alot of messing around after a very stressful journey up and day. To not be able to just relax in a warm room. No discount. Well my own fault as I couldn't be bothered explaining to new staff on in the morning. As just wanted to go home. They did do there best. But lights was annoying. Surely they should check the rooms before another person is due in.

Left feeling slightly disappointed with my visit. The good points are the staff are very friendly, helpful and greet you with a smile. The decor and room looks good when you walk in and there's plenty of parking nearby, but then that's kind of it.

The bad points are that the fan/heater in my room was broken and there was no radiator in the bathroom, which meant it was like walking into a freezer to take a shower. The water pressure was very weak and I had to remake my bed when I pulled the cover back to get in. The food was ok but the pizza I had was undercooked, at breakfast the fruit wasn't anywhere near fresh and the yoghourt was just mush.

It's not a bad hotel by any means but it needs to address one or two issues to make it a great hotel

I attended a RLA seminar at the Sheffield Jury's Inn recently and the course was excellent. Focussing on what Jury's Inn provided the conference room was comfortable and well equipped. Stationary was provided in addition to course material of high quality. The course was all day so included a morning snack and coffee break which was excellent. The lunch time meal was in the restaurant, buffet style, with a great selection of types of dishes catering well for all the delegates. Nothing is without hiccups and when one of the coffee machines in the break out area went offline it was quickly and efficiently restored to working order. Again the afternoon snack was lovely and very much welcomed. All in all a great experience.

Went here for the weekend to experience Gatecrasher classical at the town hall.

Upon arrival the staff were friendly and booked us in promptly. We were giving our key cards for the room and told relevant details about our stay. Reception area was very clean.

Room was a bit basic but fully expected for the price. Was clean which is the main thing. We could hear the people next door getting but it wasn't too bad.

Bed was very comfortable and enabled a very good night's sleep.

Hotel is well located within the city centre. The hotel's car park is situated about 5 walking distance away. Don't forget to get your token when you leave.

Overall good experience

We stayed here this week to attend a gig in the area. Very polite staff and very clean rooms.

I was a little annoyed as there is no parking on site which wasn't communicated to me before I stayed here. I only found out after going into reception. We were told there is parking not too far away. We ended up parking in a different car park which was a little closer.

I understand it's a hotel in the city, It's just hard work when you have to carry all your luggage to the hotel when you just want to get into your room. The situation would be been harder if we were staying with our kids.

Still a lovely night. I would stay here again. The location is amazing.

Had quite a negative experience over all. Receptionist was completely unprofessional and quite rude to us when we arrived. Loud extractor fan or air conditioning in our room was very noisy. It seemed to stop for part of the night but woke me at about 6.30. While at breakfast some workman started pulling up the carpet and caused clouds of dirt that caused guests to start coughing. At check-out we were asked if everything had been okay. Our answer did cause genuine concern and we have been offered a free night in the future...but not sure we want to stay there again even if free...

The hotel is fantastically located and well appointed. We had a family room and all four of us had our own beds! The staff were friendly and efficient. For a short city break we couldn't have wanted more really. Only 4 stars because the decor is looking a bit dated now (the hotel is currently being refurbished but they obviously hadn't got to our floor yet!) and the prices were a bit inflated in the bar, not stupid but definitely more than you'd like to pay - OK for a business person on expenses but a bit steep for a family! Overall I'd recommend this hotel.

I stayed at Jurys Inn for just the one night but would happily stay there again and next time I'm up in Sheffield will try and book it.

The inside of the hotel feels far more modern and trendy than the outside leads you to believe it will be.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. I didn't eat an evening meal there but the breakfast was pretty good with a large selection.

It's in a great area. Clearly Sheffield is spending big on regeneration and it's working. Lots of bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk.

Am currently in one of Jury's Inn Sheffield's rooms, attempting to lie down because I have a headache. So far, this hotel has only made it worse. It is beyond the end of the working day on a friday and yet they think it's okay to be using what can only be a jackhammer of sorts on site with absolutely no consideration for the guests. I feel physically sick as a result of staying in this room, what an awful place - I will be advising the company paying never to use this business again as they clearly have no regard for the customer whatsoever.

Wasn't that impressed really... Room was very close to the lifts so it was very noisy, bathroom was tiny, shower wasn't really pushing out a good pressure of water and it was very difficult to get the right temperature; same goes for the tap on the sink..!
Had I been a little more fussy and so tired, I definitely would have complained and changed rooms..
Only positives really was the staff were very polite, check in/checkout was fast and the bed was comfy.
Expected better from a Jury's Inn!

Decent hotel, central location, easy to get to with discounted parking in the Moor car park across the street. Only a 5-10 min walk from the very center of the city. Comfortable bed, good sized room and friendly staff. Only downside is the selection of drinks from the bar is limited and a bit expensive as is room service. Room service items are priced more or less as you would expect for a hotel however there is £4 approx delivery charge on top of the meal - £12 for a 3 egg omelet (£8 for the omelet, £4 for delivery).

Clean, modern hotel with friendly staff, and very quiet despite convenient city centre location. Evening meals in the bar were delicious. Found the large duvet a bit too hot, despite the welcome air conditioning. Would have been 5 stars if we didn't have to try and convince the receptionist we'd prepaid for dinner as well as our stay. Also I think this is the first hotel I've stayed at without a vending machine so had to skip the midnight snacks! Only had decaf coffee in the room as well.

Decent hotel with clean rooms and friendly customer service. Great location and nice views.
Breakfast selection is good, even for a vegan: bits of English breakfast, bread, soy milk available, cereals, fruits
Very friendly bar staff!
Nice views and comfy beds.
No fridge in the room though.
Parking across the road in an Npc car park, with hotel discount £5.80 for 24 hours.
Free wifi very slow, premium ok.

Really happy with my stay. Asked for a quiet room and was on the 5th floor facing a courtyard. Very quiet, good air con, lovely bed and free water/tea & coffee, plus biscuits.

Breakfast offered plenty of choice - the only issue is the hot food didn't taste too good. Eggs & bacon were like cardboard. If the hotel could act on this and replenish the foods that sit for too long it would be a 5 star recommendation!

This hotel is ideally situated in the town centre. We received a warm welcome by staff at reception and given good instruction on car parking. The room was ready on arrival and fully met our expectations. It was very clean and comfortable. We stayed for two nights over a weekend and had no trouble sleeping. Our room was situated at the rear of the building, which possibly cut out a lot of Street noise. All in all, a great stay.

Food not good both my wife and I was sick after eaten the wings. The floor still had food on it from the dinner time. The food was priced. For what it was. The table we asked to be cleaned. Was wiped down with a damp cloth that was not clean. And was sprayed with a bit of water. I don't even think it had any cleaning detergent in the water. Very poor for a hotel with the amount of staff walking around

Easily accessed by foot, car park and bus/tram within a minute's walk. I attended a small 14 person training seminar in a function room (#9) downstairs. An elevator was available. Decently equipped room with a projector, flip chart, desks in a horseshoe pattern facing the projector, water cooler. Pleasantly surprised by refreshments being served! Helpful staff Manning the reception.

They lost important documents in the mail room. Said in a letter that 'THEY WILL PAY ME BACK', never did. The manager does not respond to my emails. The manager and team there are very unprofessional and all have attitudes. Treated the rest of the group I was in with no respect. They are known for losing mail and giving answers with gaps in the middle.

Sheffield Jurys Inn provided a solid, average experience. Nothing stood out as either exemplary or terrible. The room was comfortable, although for some reason had disabled facilities, so no bath. The walls were thin, so I could clearly hear next door watching TV at 11pm. Breakfast was exactly the same as a Holiday Inn or Premier Inn or any other hotel.

3 by Nanouk Harper Review source

Friendly and helpful staff, fairly central location, but the car park is across the main road and the rooms are starting to look a bit rough around the edges. Not quite up to the same standard as The Jurys Inn in Brighton which was newly refurbished, but not bad value for money if you can get a deal for around £70 per night.

Noisy guests about 4am woke us up.
Duvet cover torn
Toilet paper pretty useless- practically needed half a roll each time.
No black pudding with cooked breakfast...and this is in Sheffield!! Almost speechless. Hash browns have no place with a British cooked brekkie..need I say more.
Staff very nice though

The room was very basic even for a 'Superior' room. But it was very comfy! I had to collect my 'room service' from the restaurant and pay for it down there which defeated the point of 'room service' but... The food was lovely. Lots of ups and downs, but I would happily stay again!

Stayed here for my wife's 30th as we were going out into Sheffield, staff were very friendly and the room was absolutely perfect (and larger than most places I've been too) location was spot on too as all the places we wanted to go were within walking distance, would definitely recommend!

Not bad, bed a bit uncomfortable because one pillow was too low and both pillows were too high. And kept rolling together into the middle of the bed.
The room was a bit small but it was OK for the one night. If we were stay more than one night I'd want a larger room.

We stayed in the Jurys inn for one night whilst attending a birthday party around Sheffield. The hotel itself was very clean and a great price for the standard we we're met with. The location was fantastic too. Staff were more than helpful and the rooms were super clean!

I use the conference rooms on a regular basis, the staff are absolutely brilliant and extremely helpful, rooms are spacious and equipped, and it is in a great location surrounded by shops and plenty of parking is available nearby, although not directly at the hotel.

Lovely huge fluffy towels nice toiletries so why the very thin nasty loo rolls? Room is a good size very quiet and the bed is very comfortable. Breakfast has large variety but not very quick at replacing missing items on full English. Plenty of other options though
