They were very kind to my Mum went she went in and asked if they had room for 12 of us and our big dog. Unlike another place in town that shall remain nameless. We were told we could move tables around and get comfy and to shout if we needed any help. So far so good!

The rest of the meal continued with absolutely delicious beautifully kept ale. Squid rings that were to die for (thick, juicy, tender) and a lovely burger. The rest of the group all enjoyed their meals also. We were looked after brilliantly by a well mannered waitress.

If I find myself in this part of the world again I shall definitely be popping in for a beer and some squid rings. Thanks for having us in \\u003d)

My wife and I attended the Old Custom House, Padstow today, with our Great Dane Dog, and it was late Sunday afternoon. We were made very welcome and opted for the Rump Steak. It was to die for, really tasty and like steak used to be. The quality of food and presentation really prompted me to make comment. It represented excellent value for money. All thee staff were really pleasant and the place immaculately clean, but still had charm and character. We shall certainly be attending there again. Our dog is always well behaved but we appreciated the pub allowing us to bring him in. Service was excellent as was the food. Can only highly recommend.

Visited Padstow for a day and went into the Old Custon House for lunch and being what I call myself connoisseur on fish and chips, we decide to take the plunge and dive into this establishment and try, whilst it was,nt cheap this food was exceptional, and at the end of the meal the price was correct 'YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR' and we'll done to the Custom House and staff, and anyone who reads this review make sure your friends and family when paying a visit to Padstow visit the Old Custom House.

Great pub in the heart of Padstow good selection of beers and cornish cider food is typical pub grub not restaurant quality but it's good value for Padstow and generous portions. It can get very busy with the tourists because of it's harbour side location but it's a big pub and does tend to thin out pretty quickly. Bar staff are always polite and helpful nor matter how busy it gets, really professional. We spend more time in here than in the other pubs.

This pub doesn't know how good it is. That's the charm. It looks like any other pub really, it has open fires, nice chairs and tables and is very large inside. However, when you speak to the staff you're greeted with a very warm welcome. You might notice the quality of the alcohol on offer as well. Food is good too, if I'm visiting Padstow I'd definitely come back here to warm myself by the fire with a nice drink and nibbles!

Lots of great beers on tap, good value food. Just a minor grumble, when we ordered and paid for something for dinner and it took ten minutes to be told that they actually didn't have any of what we ordered. A refund was processed immediately however, so it wasn't a big problem just a bit disappointing the message took so long to get through to front of house. Otherwise, a nice dinner at a very pleasant pub.

Good food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. This large corner pub in the heart of Padstow is always high on the list of places to visit every time we're in the area. The food is well cooked, tasty and comes in very generous portions! Probably the best chips I've ever come across as well - so crispy on the outside, fluffy and tasty on the inside. Definitely don't miss it for dependable, great pub grub.

Had a few drinks at The Old Custom House with family. I was very pleased with the experience.
+ Good selection of local beers (mostly from St. Austell Brewery)
+ Great location at the front of the harbour
+ Dog-friendly
+ Clean and nicely decorated

Unfortunately we didn't stay for food or accommodation, but I'd definitely recommend The Old Custom House for drinks.

I have wanted to stay at this hotel since I first visited Padstow 5 years ago. We arrived yesterday. Staying in room 8. I asked for a room with a view and that is exactly what we have. Beautiful. I love it. Cannot fault it or the rest of the Hotel. Yes you have to pay for parking but so What. Padstow isn't built for cars. The hotel more than makes up for that

Isn't it a shame to watch how hard the staff work to make your time here fantastic for the few inconsiderate to say the least who use the toilets without asking utterly rude condisending and think that good manners was never heard off and this in such a beautiful place why don't all tourists treat it as such or don't bother to come here

We came to the Custom House for dinner, the restaurants interior was modern and clean. The service given was fantastic however the four stars are for the mussels that we ate, the mariniere was very salty, however this could be because it wasn't on their menu and they went out of their way to create a dish for us, so props to them for that.

Popped in for a drink with our dog. Dog friendly in the bar area. Decided to stay and have some food. Very good and reasonably priced. Will return! Further to previous, we did return for more food. Was fantastic. Had the sticky toffee pudding for desert, prob the best I've ever had! Recommend a visit if in Padstow. Easy 5 out of 5.

Pretty average to be honest. Bar maid not the most helpful... Buying meals for a for a family of 5, apparently pizza is only an option to take away... Daughter had to settle for a slice as part of a (pretty small) kids meal ? Then 4 meals turn up, had to chase for the 5.. Overall not the greatest dining experience!

The food was delicious, I had the lobster burger, the beer was also great. The service was good except they took over ten minutes to clear our table despite our plates bring stacked ready for collection. In the end we left rather than buying another round of drinks as the table still wasn't cleared.

Being a big pub, and located at the edge of town and the harbour side , it was not as jammed pack as the more centrally town pubs. It does take a bit of time before u get your orders and drink due to the volume of visitors on a rainy day @ peak season time.Otherwise customer service satisfactory.

Nice pub right on the harbour. Part of the St. Austel brewery chain with good selection of local and international beers as well as the usual wines and spirits. Does food, with pretty much something for everybody. Fairly large place, but would imagine it gets quite busy at peak times.

Enjoyed a very nice lunch here. Initially sat down in the busy, casual part of the pub, then moved through to the restaurant area which was much quieter, with table service. The game tagliatelle and scampi were both very good meals, large portions and reasonably priced.

Ate in the now oyster bar and grill. The food is good but it's let down by the service. There were only 4 tables in use but it took a long time to be served and we had to ask 3 different people, 4 times, over the space of 15 minutes to get the bill and pay it.

Located in central Padstow near the harbour, the large venue has both a pub and separate restaurant, both are decorated nicely and there is a good friendly atmosphere. Drinks are reasonable for the area, and we come back time and again for the views and the people.

Lovely pub great decor friendly staff. On the night we were in the atmosphere was loud and lively. Menu was good (No vegan options from what I remember) and the food was hot and tasty. Cocktails were good but overpriced. Overall I would recommend.

Very nice pub with a good selection of beers, ales and food. The mussels were excellent and very fresh. The pub itself is nice and welcoming with a. Ice open fire and very friendly staff. Well worth a visit for lunch, not expensive and very good.

We were with a friend who is a wheelchair user and it was easy to access with a toilet - not easy to come by in Padstow. We had cream teas which were served beautifully. The only criticism - the scones slightly doughy. We would visit again.

Visited on a Saturday night for a drink. Bar staff are very attentive, place is very clean and tidy. Nice calm atmosphere. Excellent local ale selection with good gins as well. The location is great with fantastic views of the harbour.

Its ok but the main bar area was dirty with a lot of empty tables with dirty dishes. The place was not that busy. The gents toilet was disgusting with soaking wet floors and toilet paper all over the place. Will not be rushing back

Dinner for the family with the dog, whilst on holiday. Lovely surroundings; very good, friendly service; food well presented, reasonably priced, waiting time acceptable and very well cooked. Would definitely visit again / recommend

Order and pay at the bar. Food and drinks were above average. It was busy when we went on Saturday night with open seating, so it took some effort to find a table. Staff is not very involved but very nice and helpful when asked.

Had coffee here. Cost about £15-£17 for 2 lattes, 2 pots of tea for 2, and one chocolate Schmoo milkshake.. Not the cheapest, or the cleanest/tidiest but the coffee was ok. Dog friendly, which was quite important at the time.

Food was all cold and tired.
Personally my hunters chicken was dry and didn't have much taste although a member of my group said the oysters where perfect.

Service was good but not great.

Not a cosy 'pub' - but very convenient & comfortable for a coffee or quick refresher when in Padstow. Also one of the few places which has an area where families can be more relaxed with children.

We popped in for a quick bite to eat. Menu had lots of choice with seasonal food and reasonably priced. The food came out quickly and the service was very good. We have been before and would definitely go back.
