I have spent seven years avoiding going to the dentist as a result of a negative and very painful experience I had at my previous dentist. My upper front teeth had become loose and painful at times and this affected how I cleaned the teeth around them which gradually became brown and discoloured. I looked a mess and dealt with this by not smiling and taking pain killers and any legacy antibiotics we had in the cupboard from previous illnesses to deal with abscesses.

This continued for over 7 years and I would not go the dentist an irrational and almost phobic dislike of the thought of having my teeth scraped with what I would refer to as medieval like picks and spikes was my self justification. I used to rail to my family about why dentistry had not moved on from the dark ages and even identified that in some countries they had laser cleaning that was pain free yet when I googled it there were no such advertisements for dentists offering this service in my area. I kid myself that if there was I would have acted sooner, who knows the fact is I didn't and I remained true to my course of non dental intervention.

I then watched a programme on TV all about people who had embarrassing problems with their teeth and how it was affecting them socially and I fully related to their situation. The people in the programme were all treated successfully and it appeared to be pain free with conscious sedation used in many cases. After another year had passed and my teeth were becoming more painful I read an article in my local advertorial newspaper about a woman who had travelled from somewhere in the south of England to Queensway to have her treatment. This struck a chord with me and I resolved that I would call them after I returned from holiday (note this was a suitably long period of time for me to come up with further excuses to bottle it).

However I did call and explained my trepidation and the reasons behind it. I received an appointment with Paul Averley and duly went along fully expecting to be disappointed. Think again, from the moment I met Paul and Jade, Paul's dental nurse, they put me at ease and explained my options clearly. Paul made it clear that there was no need for me to have suffered any pain in the past and assured me that this would not happen if I went ahead with my treatment plan. Paul explained the benefits of conscious sedation combined with anaesthetic and that if I ever experienced pain he would simply stop and we would together reassess the procedure. This inclusive approach meant a lot to me as I have previously felt that dentists I have attended were very much stuck in their ways and the treatment was something done to you by them and the only option you had was to choose to turn up or not.

I have had the treatment recently and I can say Paul was true to his word I had six teeth removed and all my teeth were cleaned and look superb. I have now committed to quarterly visits to see Sally the Queensway hygienist who once again made me feel completely at ease stating that I should not feel any pain and if I do she will simply stop the process.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Queensway to anyone who like myself may have had a negative experience in the past and is living with crooked and discoloured teeth rather than go through it again. These people are progressive and different to anything I have experienced previously and I would urge you, in your own time to pick up the phone and give them a call. Don't wait seven years like I did everyone, I am very grateful to Paul, Jade and to Sally for restoring my faith in dentists, thanks.

Well what can I say.....Everything it says on the Website and More!!!
I have had a partial denture for Four Years now. Firstly, an NHS Plastic basic one - which was great looking but it felt like eating and talking with a small plastic saucer in my mouth!!
A couple of years on from that my dentist suggested a lighter metal one with clasps so freeing up my pallet a little more with a bar across the roof of my mouth but largely open giving me more of my mouth back! A Definite improvement but I was unhappy about the amount of Metal Showing :-/
So I persevered 18mths on with this denture but I really didnt like looking like 'Jaws' when I smiled (and it was sharp!!).....Well... that is where upon googling 'Clear Clasp Partial Denture' I found these Great Guys at Queensway Dental Clinic.
From my first phone call to Leanne, who talked me through everything. I was very excited :-) . They could do it for me without me spending a small fortune and so it was arranged to happen over Three Days just Two weeks after my initial phone call. No scary stuff at all and Everyone was lovely. Dr Ian Lane and John Blenkey Prosthetics Manager took everything into consideration that was bothering me and came up with my fantastic new Denture which looks and feels fabulous. No Metal at All, No Bar across the roof of my mouth even, My pallet is completely Free, Just my Missing Teeth with some soft Clear Frames hugging my Gum that I hardly know are there!!!
I will be back when I have saved up for my implants :-) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED & Thank You all So very Much for looking after me. Z

I'd wanted braces for ages and a few friends had recommended Queensway so I decided to seriously look into it. Unfortunately, after neglecting regular dental check ups for a few years and not really liking my family dentist, I knew I had to bite the bullet and see if my teeth were healthy before I could consider orthodontic treatment.

I booked in for an initial consultation with Dr Paul Averley who was fantastic. He really put me at ease and gave me a tailored treatment plan to get me back on track. Fortunately I only needed a small filling which I got done there and then (fear of the dentist overcome!).

The next step was then to see the hygienist Sally who again was brilliant! She was really friendly and informative, giving me loads of education on my oral hygiene routine and how to correctly brush, floss and the best tools to use. After a couple of check ups I was given the go ahead for orthodontic treatment and haven't looked back!

All the staff at Queensway are excellent and so helpful. I'm now really proud of the health of my teeth and even with braces I can't stop smiling.

Would highly recommend :-D

As I was coming to the end of my orthodontic treatment, Guy asked me if I had considered renewing my implant crown to further complement my new smile. I booked an appointment with Dr Will Carter who fitted my implant 5 years ago. After an assessment, Will suggested that I have a new implant crown made along with composite bonding to my lower teeth as some were worn due to my habit of clenching and grinding in my sleep.
Richard in the lab took the utmost care in ensuring the shading was the exact match to my natural teeth, which had been treat to a whitening course, and fit perfectly into the space which had slightly changed due to the orthodontic brace treatment.
I was absolutely amazed when I looked at my teeth in the mirror for the first time after Will and Lisa had completed the treatment. The Queensway team had produced a smile that far surpassed anything I could have ever imagined. I would like to thank everybody at Queensway for their vision and professionalism during my treatment. I would not hesitate to recommend the practice to anybody.

I strongly recommended anyone who is frightened of the dentist and putting off going (like I did) to visit Mr Averley.

On my first visit I was an emotional wreck due to fear (very bad childhood experience at a dentist), Mr Averley could not have been nicer and acknowledged my fear immediately. He talked me through all of the options I had in order to reduce my anxiety. Together we came up with a treatment plan, and whilst I was still nervous on the day of my treatment I should not have worried.

I opted for sedation due to having to have an extraction and two fillings (the reason I put off going for so many years). I honestly did not feel a thing let alone remember much of it which was amazing and so good for my anxiety.

I went on to have braces fitted (with Guy) and regular check ups with Mr Averley, who by the way always remembers that I am an anxious patient (no where near as bad as I was) and he puts me at ease each visit.

My teeth are amazing now, I just wish I had of found Queensway sooner.

Absolutely fantastical : ) Just over a year ago, i had an initial consultation as I was HIGHLY self conscious about my teeth but didn't think there was anything that could be done about them as I'd already had braces as a teenager. They were uneven, overcrowded, discoloured and I had a tooth that was twisted on its side...

And now, I have teeth that are perfectly straight (thanks to Queensway Orthodontics - Guy, Laura and team), cleaner (thanks to hygienist Sally) and they are now beautifully whiter (thanks to Paul) who will soon finish treatment with composite bonding to address the enamel erosion on my front teeth.

Every single member of staff have been absolutely incredible and have made the whole process so much easier. They've always been on hand to answer any questions I have and they're so positive and encouraging every step of the way. A special shout out to Jo who has been amazingly supportive!

I COMPLETELY recommend! I never thought that such a difference was possible : )

I am a very anxious patient and really dislike having dental treatment. I have been a patient with a dentist at this surgery for over 15 years and this dentist is aware of my anxiousness, and has constantly strived to reassure me throughout any treatment. The last visit I have had has been no different. The care and compassion shown by this dentist and dental assistant has been outstanding. They have definitely gone the extra mile to ensure that i have had the best experience possible. This is not a single occurrence and is one in which happens whether I am attending for a check up or for more lengthy treatment.
I cannot find fault at all with the service I have received and would recommend this practice and its staff team to anybody, who like myself was once terrified to even have a check up because of past experiences at other less helpful and accommodating practices.
This is most definitely a team who encompass the 6 C's in all aspects of the practice. Many thanks and keep up the excellent standard of practice.

I've been visiting Queensway for over a year now and have been so impressed I've moved my children here too. I have found the staff very professional and extremely accommodating. A cut above other dental practices I've visited. I can highly recommend both Guy Deeming and Paul Avery. My own dentist was actually in awe of Paul's work on a white filling her replaced for me recently. He couldn't believe how good it was. I can also rate the experience myself. I honestly never felt pain or discomfort during the procedure and was put at ease from the moment I got in the chair. I have also transferred my son over to guy for his upcoming orthodontic work. Guy's experience speaks for itself. He get's excellent results and I feel very condident that he will do a fantastic job. Special shout out to Guy's treatment co-ordinator Leanne (who goes above and beyond and her customer service is second to none)and also to Sally (hygienist) who also does an excellent job.

I was referred by my then dentist James in January 2014 because of endemic gum disease which he felt would be best treated by BDS. After a comprehensive examination including detailed x-rays by Dr Paul Averley, a partner of the practise, a treatment plan, with estimated costs was produced. Initially sceptical, I agreed to have my front upper two teeth replaced with a glued in implant. The result was so successful I agreed to continue with the full treatment under the care of Dr Mike Barnett and latterly with Miss Sally Rodgers, an extremely competent hygienist. My gum disease is under control, my dental health is now self evident and I'm very grateful to all concerned. I should add the reception and nursing staff are all very helpful and the overall atmosphere is very welcoming. I have recommended this practise to others who are also pleased with their results. Great service at great prices.

Thank you so much to Queensway Dentist, Dr Paul Averley and dental nurse Leanne Sowerby. I had quite a lot of treatment in one session and opted for the sedation as my anxiety levels were sky high and it was worth every penny. I went to Queensway dentist a very nervous patient but now because of the level of care and approach of the dental staff I have nearly over come my fear of going to the dentist. I am also back every three months to see Sally Rodgers the dental hygienist, who after just one visit to her, i felt so comfortable and relaxed, she answered all my questions and had time for me, I left the dentist feeling positive about my on going treatment. I could go on and on about my experience at Queensway Billingham, but too conclude if anyone out there has a fear of the dentist, then Queensway will look after you. Many thanks to all the team. Kind Regards Deborah Benn

I have been a patient at Queensway Dental Clinic for many years now and have always been extremely happy with the care I have received.
Recently, I developed problems with a particular tooth which required complex treatment. I was very concerned about this and it was more than likely that I would have to lose the tooth. My dentist Dr. Amanda Edge referred me to Dr. Tim Peach.
The outstanding skill of Dr. Peach undoubtedly saved my tooth. He showed not only great skill but also a thorough knowledge of that particular specialist area. I am certain that without his skill and knowledge I would have lost the tooth and suffered considerably.
I would also like to thank Dr. Amanda Edge and Fiona Secret for their continued excellent care.
Thank you to everyone at the Queensway Dental Clinic

I would like to thank all the staff at Queensway but especially Alison Powton and Dr Piotr Sztencel. I am a very anxious patient and have not had dental treatment for year's. My dear friend Ali work's at the practice suggested I come for a consultation, best thing she ever did, as it was a friend who made the appointment, I felt obliged to attend and I'm so glad I did. She booked me in with Dr Piotr Sztencel, his chair side manner was outstanding, he explained everything that needed doing going forward and suggested with my level of anxiety for the work to be done over 2 sessions with conscious sedation. I finished my treatment today and I am over the moon so much so I have already booked my 3 month check. You guy's are all amazing. Thank-you from the bottom of my heart.

I am a very nervous patient having been to many different dentists in the past with some very scary experiences along the way, leading to my becoming so anxious I have even absconded right before my appointment! Then a number of years ago someone told me about Queensway Dental Clinic, somewhere they felt was very sympathetic towards anxious patients and quite frankly I have never looked back.
My dentist Dr Paul Howlett and his team have always put me at ease and he has had no issues with giving me sedation for any treatment I have needed, including fillings, which has made my visits so much less stressful and manageable. For me visiting the dentist is no longer the major ordeal it used to be. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who is nervous about their dental care.

My Son needed extensive Dental treatment ,he lost 2 teeth at the front through a cycling accident, when he was younger He has had numerous visits to Dentists through on going problems.,and in so much pain. He was referred to Dr Ian Lavery to discuss an
an implant. Because of bone loss a bone graft was required to accomodate the implant, i watched the most amazing surgey on 2 occasions i found it an inspiring experience watching the amount of work that was done ,all the instruments, that were needed, and the confidence listening to the Dr explain what he was doing in the most caring way, was so reassuring. We are so lucky to have people who can do this complicated and so invasive surgery. Cannot recommend Qeensway Dental and Dr Ian Lavery high enough ..awesome experience.

Having been told I would have to have a tooth & root removed due to 'absorption' I was very anxious about the whole procedure. The initial operation to remove the root was carried out by Dr Julian, who was absolutely fantastic, I was made to feel at ease and the whole process was carried out painlessly and very professionally. Dr Jane (Gosney) then performed miracles to make sure that my smile was as normal as could be until after the forthcoming holiday period when I can have a full and proper replacement fitted. I cannot praise everyone at Queensway Dental Clinic highly enough, from the minute one walks through the door until leaving for whatever treatment one needs, the whole team are superb. Thank you to all concerned,. Best regards John Armitage [LowerBillsForever]

Can't recommend Queensway enough. Will fixed my teeth recently to a standard I didn't think existed, I'm simply blown away.
I felt completely at ease at all times with both Will and Sally, the hygienist plus their assistants.
I broke my front teeth when I was so young that I can't remember how they felt before. But after getting them properly fixed at Queensway, for the first time in my life that I can remember, I can run my tongue along the back of my teeth without huge lumps or ragged edges that were there from previous repair work. I can't believe how perfect they are.
I am so pleased and will be continuing my visits to Queensway for my routine dental appointments. Thank you Xxx

We had our first visit this week for our little boy, as we required a second opinion to our existing dentist.
High quality customer service from the initial contact with the surgery, very efficient and patient centered.
The visit was extremely detailed and very informative, ensuring that we as parents has all our questions answered and were educated as to how we could help.
I honestly can not fault the service we have recieved and am blown away by how much time was taken to explain things in such a friendly and professional way.
Would recommned the surgery to anyone, an experience like nothing we have ever know... Fabulous!

Our 10 year old daughter had an accident at school tripping over and fracturing her front teeth.Parts of her front teeth snapped off and left the remainder loose. She was referred to Queensway Dental Clinic and we are so pleased that she was.For a 10 year old and us as parents this was very traumatic but the staff were second to none. The friendliness of all staff from the Dentist to the nurses was first class and we honestly can't thank them enough. She is currently still on with her treatment but thanks to all involved at Queensway fingers crossed things are looking promising. We are now going to register all the family here.First Class.

Came here after being scared to go back to my normal dentist. Straight away all the staff I dealt with from the receptionist, dental nurse to the dentist I was put at ease. I ended up having my tooth removed and needed one filled and I even went onto have my teeth whitened and my front ones refilled to give me my perfect smile. Just want to thank Paul Davies and the lady working along side him (I didn't get her name ) for the brilliant work and dealing with my nerves and my many panics! I even bring my little boy here now too, as I still have a fear of going back to the old dental surgery but feel completely at ease at Queensway!

Amazing from start to finish! I initially went to Queensway for braces and decided that it wasn't the best option for me. Then I met with Ian who suggested some teeth whitening and cosmetic fillings to improve the look of my teeth. I am now so soo pleased with the results and shocked at how different my teeth look - I couldn't recommend him anymore. I am really scared of dentists and Ian definitely helped me so much and took his time with the injections so I felt no pain whatsoever! Also the girls at the clinic were too helpful and any issues or questions I had they were always there to help and reassure me!

I have had extensive dental and cosmetic work done by different specialists at Queensway Dental Clinic. All of the dental work done by various members of the practice has been completed in the timeframe given to me. The procedure's were fully explained and were completed with no pain and minimum discomfort. The dental team were kind, considerate and gentle. The dental work they have done is outstanding, my family and friends are so complimentary now the work has been completed. Many thanks to a very professional team of specialists and of course an excellent support staff who arrange and plan your visits.

I am nervous about dentist appts at the best of times so when I needed a more difficult procedure carried out my dentist recommended having it done at Queensway. I was very anxious but they were brilliant explaining what was going to happen and any complications that might occur at the consultation appt. When it came to the day of the extraction they were calm and reassuring and told me what was happening and what to expect as it went along. I couldn't believe how straight forward it was and how quickly it was over. I would highly recommend Queensway to anyone.

Having just finished my treatment, I would feel confident when recommending anyone to use this dental practice. In my case, my procedures were over a long period of time, involving treatment for gum disease, orthodontic, implant and some cosmetic work. In all cases the various teams, including the reception team, were courteous, extremely professional, and made me feel comfortable and at ease. Dr Paul Averley and Dr Guy Deeming achieved the goals we all set out to achieve, and I am very happy indeed with my teeth and smile. Thank you to everyone at Queensway.

AFTER HAVING SOME BAD EXPERIENCES WITH DENTISTS WHICH RESULTED IN HAVING A PHOBIA I OPTED TO VISIT QUEENSWAY AGAIN AND WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED MANY THANKS TO AMANDA AND HER ASSISTANT WHO BOTH MADE ME FEEL AT EASE AND EXPLAINED EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO I WAS GIVEN INTRAVENOUS CONSCIOUS INJECTION FOR A TOOTH EXTRACTION AND FILLING AFTER SUFFERING A VERY PAINFUL ABSCESS. WHEN I WOKE UP IT WAS ALL OVER AND THE NEXT DAY I HAD NO PAIN AT ALL EXCELLENT SERVICE I WILL CERTAINLY BE VISITING THIS PRACTICE AGAIN AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE TO ANYONE 100%.

I have been a patient at the practice for quite a few years and have seen it grow to what it is today.
I am an NHS patient and have just had treatment for fitting of two crowns.
And I wanted to point out the first class service I received.
From arrival at reception who are always polite and courteous to the excellent pain free treatment from my dentist Dr Piotr Sztencel who always kept me informed through out and who once again is the most polite and courteous person you could meet.
Thanks Queensway and keep up the good work.

A big thank you to Paul Averley , dental nurses and technicians for my new smile can only describe the whole experience as outstanding.
A very professional service from the receptionists finding you the perfect appointment times, hygienists helping to educate you in dental care to the first rate dentists and dental team providing you with the very best standards from the first assessment to the final result. Would recommend Queensway Dental Clinic for nothing less than fantastic dental work and results ! :-)

Had 3 wisdom teeth removed by Dr Dorman with IV sedation. Obviously prior to the operation I was feeling very anxious but as soon as I got in the chair and chatted to Dr Dorman, I was put at ease. Felt like 5 minutes and all 3 were out, absolutely nothing to worry about, it was a quick procedure, although I was aware of what was happening, I wasn't phased by any of it and I couldn't be happier that it's all done. Thank you to Dr Dorman and the team for their work.

My past experiences of dentists were of nightmare proportion. However, following a number of visits to Queensway centre would certainly qualify as a centre of excellence in my opinion as my treatment ticked all the boxes! I was treated with the utmost respect and understanding by all staff I encountered on each occasion. I feel much less fearful of further treatment in the future if required.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my gratitude

I can't recommend this practise enough. To say I'm a nervous patient would be an under statement but from the reception staff to the medical experts they do there very best to put you at ease, they are all very understanding and VERY patient. I've just had an extraction performed by Dr Moore and he was superb and along with the dental nurse (sorry I didn't get your name) made it an easy procedure for me. Thank you for a professional and caring service.

I am writing this on behalf of Karen Blakey who visited 12th September 2017

I have attended Queensway Dental Practice for approximately 7 years and wish to express my gratitude and thanks to all staff, but in particular dentist Paul Howlett. Mr Howlett is not only absolutely brilliant in his delivery of treatment, but also demonstrates superb people skills re: allaying my fears. I cannot praise him highly enough.

Once again many, many thanks.
