Disappointing visit on Wednesday 12 July, to Bluebird cafe. At one point there were 8 dogs in the restaurant! One customer came in to order food from the counter. She had one dog on a lead and another dog not on a lead. The dog who was not on a lead cocked its leg and did a wee on the restaurant floor. My friend went to an employee to tell her. A waitress came out with kitchen roll, spray, and a 'wet floor' cone. The dog owner was still at the counter while this was going on. Personally I would have given her the kitchen roll and spray and said 'here you are, you clear up your dog's mess'. Surely health and safety should not allow this or so many dogs inside atestaurant. I am not particularly fond of dogs and to have so many dogs in a restaurant, and at one point they were barking in unison it was difficult to hold a conversation. It will be a long time before we visit the cafe again.

We travelled down from Oxford specifically to have lunch here. Pebbly beach and a very pleasant beach walk in either direction with the downs just a few miles away. All the facilities are good and in good order with recent updates such as the fresh coffee maker. You can expect to queue at 1-o-clock lunchtime and the car park will get full but come a little earlier or later and it will be easier. Extra parking (also popular) to the east along the shoreline (with fields for running about and flying kites etc). The fish (cod/haddock) and chips come with fresh salad, lemon and their tartare sauce are a treat. Very helpful staff and the food arrives freshly cooked and piping hot. We have been many time (all seasons) and have never been disappointed and will be back. It is a busy café but a more upmarket one with a good choice of food.

This place is a hidden gem right on the beach front. They have the best fish and chips I think I have ever had. I have been several times, and twice they had just stopped serving food in the cafe. Instead of telling me I could still get food on the other side of the building from a counter outside, they just let me go. That's the only downside, the service. It's not bad, just not great. So, if you go there and can't get food in the cafe, check to see if you can still order fish and chips on the other side. You won't be disappointed!

A busy and popular cafe, that offers indoor and outdoor seating. It also has a separate counter, round the back, facing the car park for take away drinks and a few snacks. Cafe is nicely decorated and offers a fairly extensive menu. This was my first visit for several years and I was impressed at how it had modernised and improved the decor and menu, will return again soon. It is perfectly located for a pleasant walk along the seafront either towards Rustington or Worthing or in better weather for a day enjoying the beach and swimming.

Staff were very forgetful. Had to ask for our change and we heard quite a few people complaining that the staff kept forgetting their orders. I asked for a bacon bap and large chips. The chips were not a large and they gave me a sausage bap. I had waited ages for it and didn't want to change it to the bacon I asked for coz I was so hungry by then. The next day I was admitted to hospital with food poisoning. That was the only bit of meat I ate all day, so I am pretty sure I got food poisoning from there!!

Great location on the seaside, though a convoluted drive to get there. The food was sublime - definitely deserves the 5 stars considering the price. Had a full English with some extra black pudding. It's very busy because of it - suggest ordering everything you want straight away (desert as well) so that you don't have to get up and queue again later. The queue never gets smaller on a Sunday.

Wonderful to find such a nice café on the beach where dogs are actually welcome, inside as well as out. Good food, served as promptly as staff numbers & demand allows! The reason I could not give it fifth star is because it seems to have become a victim of its own success & far too crowded in summer. Cannot imagine how it will be during school holidays. I'm a term time only customer!!

Love to come here when we are walking the dog along the beach for an all day breakfast.
We always ask for something extra for the dog.
The dog also loves this place, so much so that he runs back to see if there is anything else to eat.
prices are reasonable too.
Very busy with dog walkers & have never seen this place empty.
Keep up the good work !! (see you soon)

My family and I used to come down to have breakfast here but recently we have been disappointed with the availability of seating and the attitude of staff behind the counter. The food is still great but unless you don't mind eating standing up don't bother. We popped to Morrisons got a great breakfast, friendly staff at a good price, all without having to stand to eat it.

A fantasically popular cafe right on the beach. And rightly so. Especially if you are a dog walker. Huge car park or well worth walking to from either direction along the beach or even along the Ferring rife. Well run, easy on the eye and lots of variety on the menu. Plenty of room outside to sit and if it's busy inside you don't normally have to wait long for a table.

Great place to visit for a casual breakfast or lunch. Located just off the beach, it is an ideal place to walk to if you're in the local area.

The Bluebird is dog friendly and the staff are very friendly. The menu is good, the usual burgers, sandwiches, classic dishes and even some fresh seafood as well. Well worth a Sunday stroll down to check it out.

Limited disabled access. Slopes to promenade but single step into café. No disabled toilets.
Baby changing facilities.
Dog friendly.
Can get extremely busy. Could do with extra staff at busy times.
Excellent views, recently decorated in pastel blue seaside shades.
Freshly made food, slightly pricey but not excessive.

Having frequented this establishment on may occasions I have to say what a great beach front cafe, it is dog friendly with plenty of indoor seating and even more outside if the weather is nice, it does get busy at times, that's because the service friendly and the food is amazing, well worth a visit.

Went there today for the second & last time. £10.00 for 2 cups of very poor quality hot (lukewarm) chocolate and 2 dry buns is too much. Happy to pay if the quality is there, but it's not. Also driven to distraction by yapping dogs. Sad really because it's a great location. Sorry.

Really lovely café! Lovely food, huge potions! The sweet potato chips were particularly good. Perfect location as well. Love the fact that they had 'dog rules' on the table with the menus. Brilliant place, I would highly recommend it to anyone. Really good flat white too

Had burgers - three different types between us - and all were excellent. Great selections of cakes too, and my choice was also very tasty. Very very busy cafe but reasonably quick queueing and serving of order. Plenty of dogs but none of them were a problem. Excellent cafe.

brilliant location and excellent food. full of dog walkers and very dog friendly which as a dog owner makes a great difference.
If you aren't a dog owner but don't mind being surrounded by them it's well worth the trip as excellent walks along the beach

Food looks lovely even though I didnt eat there, the latte I had was nice too. The only thing I dont agree with, is allowing customers to bring in their dogs, I've never agreed with animals being permitted in an establishment that serves food, that is my main gripe

During peak times it's incredibly popular so be ready for a long queue. Staff work really hard but it still can take a little while to get served. My advice, go on a windy, wet, cold day. Then the beach is your own and the hot chocolate is *really* welcome. :)

Very helpful friendly staff! I find it very hard to eat out as I have food allergies. they opened to doors at 8.05 and I was eating my (dairy & gluten free) full English breakfast by 8.15 the views are good the music is pleasant and unobtrusive wonderful!

Very nice cafe on the beach. Gets very packed when the sun shines. Good food, good variety, reasonable prices and lovely coffee. Has nice clean toilets, car park is large but full of pot holes so take care when driving in. Dogs welcome, friendly staff.

We love this dog friendly cafe. The staff are really friendly, the food is great and they also stock Oatly Barrista so dairy free and vegans cab enjoy a great coffee. There could be vegan food options but they're willing to make substitutions.

Great beachfront café, filled with windswept locals and dogwalkers. Coffee is good, food too, but as ever in places like this, many young staff who don't know what they're doing, so service could be a lot better/quicker.

As usual the staff were friendly even though it was busy. I just love the fact that there is a serving hatch at the rear of the building that you can get food and drink from until 6.00pm. My relatives were so impressed by this.

Upsides. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great views. Good staff. Downsides Coffees always take forever to come. Sometimes longer than the wait for food. Struggle to get a seat at weekends and car park is full of pit holes.

Great food and drink right on the seafront. Dogs very welcome, which is great after a nice walk along the beach. Only reason not 5 stars is that at peak times the queue to order can be a bit slow.

A lovely spot on the beach with delicious food, lovely staff and very dog friendly. My dad would highly recommend the chips that came with his ham and eggs, he said they were perfect...
