Nice cosy atmosphere(perhaps because it was empty?) let down by distinctly average food. Certainly not worth the markup for indulging in an authentic Iberia experience ...might as well go to one of the 'faceless' chains and yes I've sampled better at such establishments. Portions are petite as you might expect from tapas but are borderline 'stingy'. Some dishes were better than others, and others were just plain lacklustre. The aceitunas(olives) were disappointingly supermarket quality, unstuffed, absent of seasoning but 'con' pips and no doubt poured straight from the jar. La pan(bread) was mourish enough but ordinary in every way. The calamari arrived in spectacular sizzling style but was more onion than squid ...rubbery overcooked squid at that. Perhaps most disappointing of all was the 'albondigas'(meatballs) which crumbled into watery mush the moment you touched it - almost certainly freezer burnt. On the whole food just lacked taste and substantial quality. On the plus side service was pretty swift and polite - but I'm not paying for smiles I'm paying for great food. Not good value for money.

I visited this Tapas bar on a whim as I could use my Tastecard here, and I was in the area for an event that evening. I love tapas and Spanish food, so I'm fairly picky when it comes to judging the quality in such restaurants.

The initial impressions aren't great - the staff are indifferent, and chat to each other even when you try to get their attention. Thankfully, the food leaves a better impression. IT does have an outdoor seating area, but this *is* Camden, and the nightlife is slightly raucous at times, so I'd suggest sitting indoors.

We had a range of dishes, and what stood out particularly were the calamari (perfectly cooked, not a hint of chewyness), the albondigas (rich sauce, deep flavour to the meatballs) and the padron peppers.

If you don't mind being basically ignored, and like halfway authentic, tasty tapas, this is a great little place - especially good value with a tastecard!

Nice old Spanish tapas bar in Camden. It's been there for decades although the management seems to change pretty frequently.
The food can be excellent or just average depending on the shift. And the service is equally eccentric. Pick a busy time with grumpy staff and you'll be made to feel as welcome as a fart in a perfume factory. And you'll be paying for the 'privilege'.
I've been coming here for many, many years and am very fond of it. If only they took quality of food and service more seriously. Tourists and other visitors are just as entitled to high standards as local residents.

The staff were so busy talking to each other that we stood around at the bar waiting to served for ages. Maybe that's why at 11:30 on a Saturday night it was relatively empty?? Should have known better as Camden is normally packed. If you find an empty bar...something must be wrong!
It's a shame as I recall this place from a visit many years back and it was different then.
This time round it was dull as ditch water, rude and unhelpful staff and a very rude manager and security guy.
Do yourselves a favour.....there are so many venues to eat and drink in Camden Town...give Bar Ganza a miss!!!

'Spanish' food bar without any spoon dish, at which the waitress suggested a paella for two on request.
The treatment is nice but at the time of the invoice, they knock you an additional percentage that they call 'the service', for the waiters, cooks ... That is, the tip that anywhere should be optional, they will the jam on the bill and you are required to pay it.
The toilets are very small and are at the end of a steep and narrow staircase on the top floor. Nothing accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs. I also missed a baby changing table

Great restaurant and bar. Food is ok and drinks are great. My boyfriend and I have enjoyed many cocktails and delicious tapas here. The music is great and not too loud, so it's perfect for chatting and great for dates - especially with the cocktails being so well made and very strong. The atmosphere is great, really relaxed with a variety of clients including couples and groups of friends all adding to the great vibe.
Toilets could do with a freshen up but otherwise all here is fab! Buen trabajo Bar Gansa! Me gusta!

I gladly share our experience yesterday. Food without any note of merit, pan with tomate without oil and with tomato tin nothing to do with any bread and tomato, tasteless ham, but the top has reached a chica that served at the tables and that, in front of the disappointment of a friend who pointed out a hair in the midst of baked cod, insisted that sicuramennte was our ...... por favor .... paid shortly then little later! The only positive note is the really good musicians.

Came here Friday... really amazing atmosphere, they have new lights since last time and the food was even better! Prices are great and i would high recommend the sangria and croquettes.
The flamenco they had on was the perfect accompaniment to a great meal romantic I had with my girlfriend. Very laid back and well worth a visit!

Never eat at 'Spanish Tapas' Bar Gansa, Inverness St, Camden, London: food was cold, unseasoned, served in broken overused plates, waiters friendly and human but terrified and incompetent, another table left without paying, my gf's portions were halved due to wrong ingredient proportions. we didnt pay for service.

Great service and alright food. There is a good selection of vegetarian tapas but unfortunately a lot of our dishes were either under seasoned or seasoned with overpowering spices. Some meat was dry, like chicken and shrimps tasted strange, almost like freshwater prawns. Maybe we'll have better luck next time.

Fantastic date spot, especially on a Sunday night where they have flamenco dancers from the London 'Escuela de Baile'. It starts at 7pm. The tapas is very reasonable at around £5 a plate, I particularly liked the seafood plates, calamares, gambas etc. The staff are very friendly and chatty too.

We ate decently. A phenomenal waitress and the other fatal. I ate sitting with my family, I was at it. But during the meal I went for a falafel that I wanted. I did eat out standing. If you go with falafel and ask you to drink it is one thing. But I was eating with my mother, my daughter and my wife.

We loved the atmosphere. Service was attentive and personal, tapas were authentic and delicious! The red sangria tasted amazing and was served with fresh fruit though the alcohol content was quite low. Would recommend this place for late on a week night when you want a nice bite.

Bar Gansa is such a lovely quaint eatery. Visited this place many a times and the food had always delivered. Really like the tapas options, everything I've tried has been enjoyable!
Not terribly family friendly, but you can still manage to get a buggy in and enjoy!

Perfect place to go for tapas. Small delights and a wonderful paella you can accompany with a refreshing sangria. The 'Happy Hour' to 7 and using the Taste Card allow you to enjoy a great feast for very little money. Highly recommended.

At Bar Gansa the atmosphere is wonderful, and authentically Spanish. The service is really excellent and welcoming. The Paella Valenciana looked and tasted wonderful. Friendly staff and amazing cocktails:)
Highly recommended

Do not expect to be home simply a Spanish tapas bar but the British feel to make paella you can take some tapas, beer is Spanish and attention is good little terrace and the bathroom is not precisely adapted for the disabled.

A fraudulent establishment with average food. Decided that when they cashed up it would be OK to charge us twice for our supper on little more than a recipet. If you want to avoid being stolen off, avoid this restaurant!

Excellent tapas bar in the Camden Town.
Podes go to dinner or just take a few mojitos or bleedings while enjoying the flamenco show with a few days at night.
And best of all, it's good, nice and cheap.

Bad Food, place looks okay but the food level is very low.
Ordered several different tapas dishes but ended up leaving most of them as they were not nice. The waitress was also quite rude.

Spanish bar in the neighborhood of Camden. I discovered a little over a year and on both trips we have done in this period we have gone to eat paella. Also they have lids. I like going there

Bar lousy and lousy deal, especially the Spaniards! A beer tap that has no beer! They offer things you then subsequently charge, increasing the price up twice. Vdd bar a shame! Inadvisable!

Went during happy hour and we were super impressed with the price and quality of the meals and cocktails in the happy hour menu, will definitely return again to try more of the tapas!

Visited this hidden gem twice over the weekend (well twice in two days) the tapas is to die for staff friendly and amazing - food delicious prices very reasonable well worth a visit

Average food not worth the price. Service OKish, apart from a waiter who waited for my girlfriend to go to the restroom and asked for her phone number.

Cheap cocktails during happy hour just off the very busy Camden high street. Really friendly staff. Will definitely be coming here for drinks again.

Relaxed atmosphere, good service, great music. Food however is entirely average though perfectly edible. Draft beer is bland. Reasonably priced.
