My only positive about this place was that we were informed on entering that breakfast was finished and if we were happy with what was on offer could go ahead, we chose to go ahead and I wish I hadn't!!!!!
We had to ask for plates as they had removed them all the plates were still wet when they came out.....when stood at the toaster we were informed by a member of staff to 'hurry up with the toaster as it was getting turned off'. I don't consider that a nice way to speak to a customer. Shortly after a member of staff appeared to be guarding the toaster shouting 'turn it off just turn it off'. Thought that was a bit strange.
On finishing our breakfast they immediately brought out cooked meats without cleaning the counter shortly after a member of staff decided to scrape a few scraps off the edge into a tray which was wiped with a napkin and a raggy old cloth the member of staff didn't really look interested in making it look presentable for the next customers it took all of 2 minutes to do it was hardly exhausting, she then disappeared and returned with two lots of veg.
Kitchen staff were walking around drinking water and ice considering they were in a hurry to get dinner out....the table where the toaster was had a table cloth on that was removed and shaken crumbs went all over the tables and the floor 4 napkins were placed on the table ready to set, tables weren't cleaned before hand and crumbs remained there.

I did enjoy my breakfast but if I had seen the poor standard of hygiene I wouldn't of chosen to eat here!!!!

Always a good meal here and value for money. Sadly the roasties are never as perfect as in photos on the internet site and FB so a bit of digging is involved to get semi decent ones. The meat portions are at the discression of the carver but usually enough for me.
My other gripe is that the single glass pop price should be a lot less than the unlimited refill price because as it stands, most people take the unlimited choice (if asked...see below) and then just have one glass anyway. Good for the company but not the customer. Also the unlimited refill price seems to go on the bill by default. I can never remember being asked which I want.
Nothing I've said will stop me going but I'd just be happier if changes were made.

If it sounds too good to be true, then it is too good to be true.

Next time I'll go straight to McDonald's or Burger King. They give you so much more for your money.
Food quality far below anybody's expectations. Also the level of hygiene is pretty poor.
The staff members are untrained in their profession (probably students) and the manager (Peter) is a lazy and fat retard.
He shall be the first one that leaves if this business wants to improve.

My advice: Go here if you want to be treated like a prisoner in Romania. If not, stay away!

Food was only just warm and they're quite stingy with the meat portions.
Went at lunchtime on a Sunday which must be their busiest time because the service was slow, it was too noisy to hold a conversation and there were kids running around everywhere. One child almost ended up with a pile of plates on his head when he ran around a corner smack into a waitress coming the other way. You'd think they'd ask the parents to keep the kids under control but this level of chaos seemed to be the norm.
On a positive note though the staff are friendly and polite.

Terrible service today Christmas dinner at this Toby £50 per head far from justified! The Carvery so called chefs were arguing between themselves serving meat and looked as only I can describe as spaced out !! As others in the que making similar comments I took four small sausages only to be told it was two per person and had to return how pathetic and unprofessional temp staff must have been set on due to over booking by greedy management not customer service the only saving grace was the pleasant young girl waiting on our table we will not book again at this Toby next year

My daughter and were bitterly disappointed with the carvery. You couldn't even cut the beef let alone chew it! The roast potatoes were virtually raw. Cauliflower was a mix of rubbery and uncooked. On complaining the waitress said we could get a fresh plate of food which was not much better. A very small amount was deducted from our bill but to be honest I don't think we should have had to have paid anything! People around us were leaving food! Disgusting food and would not go back and definitely would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Food was lovely, though I ordered a large wine I received a medium. Though it was fault of my own I didn't realise till after I drank some and could not prove.. when i was asked to check my bill and was charged for a large I mentioned that I actually received a medium but as I had already started my drink I couldn't prove it. Just an apology would of been sufficient but I received 'Oh ok'this wasn't good enough. Food was delicious and venue is very nice. I will visit again but check my drink size before starting to drink.

Delightful and reasonable and due to my medical condition I was allowed a child's size meal. Lovely staff too. Roll on next Friday! Been in since this review had to beg for a child's portion and the food was cold especially the cauliflower cheese which was hard as well. They seem to think I'm trying to get away with not paying for a full dinner but I'm not I just feel full quickly and although children's meals were £1 I paid the full price as I offered to. I don't want anything for nothing

Did not book a table but got our party of 3 seated straight away on a Saturday night. We ordered drinks and a starter but were told our starter was not available so went straight to the carvery. As we were being served the waitress came back to us and informed that they did have our starter. Excellent service and very good food. Three people with drinks starters and carvery all for £32. Very good value. Highly recommend. But would advice to book online as it was busy and think we got lucky.

Took a long time to bring carvery bits out for kids. The waitress was new and absolutely lovely but she was not helped by a pressurising manager and slow and unhelpful carvery staff. We visit the York bramch often and it is in a different league. If I could have reviewed the waitress only it would have been 5 stars. She was brilliant with the kids and couldnt have helped more. Her manager told her she wasnt allowed help the kids and made us feel like we had gotten her in trouble.

Was a little disappointing, we called and booked a table, was told the only time available was 12, arrived and was told we was booked for half one. Was seated but over two tables that were positioned awkwardly. This meant the celebration was very disjointed. The food was nice but we were left to our own devices so when the bill came there was errors. Such a shame as when we have had celebrations in the past we were always well looked after.

Very poor meal here, cauliflower cheese so hard couldn't even cut with knife, most of meal cold, beef looked lovely but was so tough unable to eat any, gravy more like water tasteless no thickness to it at all,was starving hungry on a long road trip.
Usually love Toby carvery, use them all the time back home in Gloucestershire, even take the family for Christmas dinner there.
Would not recommend this carvery to anyone.

Felt ripped off. The meal was nice just like it always is full stop however they had an offer on of 25% off if you had been there the week before. When we went to take up this offer we discovered that the fact that we had ice creams which we are normally a pound after a meal meant that we couldn't take up the original offer. As in all offers with these companies they do not tell you this in the small print.

Visited today first time after the refurbishment and its really good. The staff excellent, the food quality great and the whole thing very reasonably priced. The Carvery vegetable standard brilliant and the chef's special (Butternut Squash in a garlic sauce) fantastic. I can see now why it can get so busy and just in case I would suggest you reserve a table. Would I go again?. Already planning it.

We had booked our meal for 7.30, on arrival the staff were very friendly, unfortunatly the food wasn't. They had no beef left and the other three cuts we were given, Gammon, Pork and Turkey were just like the left overs nobody else wanted. Sorry to say this was not a good food experience and we had so looked forward to it. Luckily there are plenty more places to eat in Leeds.

Good Home cooked food. You can pile it on, and boy, some people did. Got that 'eyes bigger than belly thing' but value for money. Ice cream brownie thing nice, but melt very quickly. The Saute potatoes and pumpkin 'del'. If you want a Sunday off or treating family, get over to Toby. Remember can't use coupons on Sunday! It's in the small print.

Went following recent refurb and was very impressed its so much brighter and an even more enjoyable place to enjoy fantastic carvery with 4 meats and ace selection of veggies. The staff are always so friendly. We travel all the way from Harrogate just to have dinner here. Also love the app! Makes paying so simple and we got a 40% off voucher today. Thank you Toby carvery

Shocking customer service. 1 member of staff inparticualer was really rude. We asked for 5 vegi breakfasts (Toby are supposed to offer a vegi breakfast) the manager did his best to accommodate us but in the end they had about 6 vegi sausages in the whole building and a tiny amount of hash. A vegi breakfast is supposed to be a standard at Toby carvery. Really disappointed.

Horrible smell upon entry, bar staff are extremely rude and blatantly ignore you when you want to order. Manager is rude and accusatory and assumes things about customers in a highly prejudicial manner. Overall, staff are not professional, the establishment is as despicable as it's workers and I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than visit this place again.

Always a good selection of reasonably priced food and meals. Bottomless soft drinks are always a plus for me, and I have never left the restaurant hungry. Always friendly staff, and quick service. Plenty of parking space, and easy to find in a taxi too which is always helpful. Will definitely return and would encourage anyone else to try at least once

Food was good but service just awful. Busy day, told we could sit in bar but not to expect any table service, thought fair enough especially as we were told we wouldn't find anywhere else to eat locally and had hungry kids. Waited at food counter for ages, nobody was in sight. Told 15 min wait for gammon and no roast potatoes?

Have been coming to this nice carvery for quite a few years. Today the service was pathetic, slow and the chef at the meat section was rude and was dispensing miniscule portions . On pointing that out he just shrugged and went inside. Felt quite humiliated , probably would think again before making the trip here.

Certainly a new experience in the queue with 52 Chinese students (virtually all of whom are in the queue in front of me) but everyone serving the carvery performed their role admirably and we were all served politely and quickly. Very impressed. Especially with the new take out option that I chose.

Average food quality, ran out of meat on the carvery at 6pm so left with a limited selection until the next joint was cooked. Vegetable selection was limited and tested frozen not fresh. Staff were accommodating and good wheelchair access to all areas of the bar & dining area

Food good enough although some people might find it a little bit bland. I liked an unlimited veg option as you can stuff yourself if meat wasn't enough for you. Thanks to the quality to price ratio this place receives five stars. Don't expect five star service though.

Super friendly staff, brilliant great value for money food, excellent drinks selection, suitable for, couples, groups, families or solo dining, the staff are always on hand and nothing is too much trouble. We'll worth a visit and you won't be disappointed.

Not here to praise or complain about the food or service, I'm here to ask why you have vandalised such a beautiful landmark building.
PAINTED BRICK !?!?
For crying out loud, what were you thinking?
Cheap, nasty and offensive. Ruined.

Great food. Except the potatoes could have a range and by range I mean sizes. They are all really big so loose the roasted flavour inside . Smaller ones are always yummiest. I'll be back next week hopefully they will.see this and chop smaller pots .
