I love the great location of this Wetherspoons, right in the heart of Cardiff City Center, just accross the road from from The Principality Stadium, with entrances on Westgate Street, & the cultural hub of colourful Wanamby Street, only a few steps away from the popular City Arms.
Wetherspoon pubs are known as being cheap & cheerful, & this establishment surpassed my expectations.
I had a mouth watering burger with giant sized tasty onion rings.
Another bonus of Wetherspoons is their free coffee refills.
The only downside to these pubs is the layout. The toilets are always either upstairs or downstairs, with a long walk involved, which can also often be confusing, & difficult to access for many people.

Went in 3 adults 1 child. Had to wash table ourselves it was not good we should of left then. Though no other peoples food on next table had bern delivered so we thoughf ok lets try.No children's menus.
Orderd tennesse burgers. No burgers at all . But told chicken can replace. So we reordered tennesse but with buttermilk chicken. No sauce came we asked for it. We were nearly finished meal what was edible. Sauce came it was disgusting. Had no colouring in things for child when asked staff they shrugged shoulders. I will never go back their we left most of food. It was like soft left over food. Staff not interested in when told.

Went here for lunch with a family member on Saturday 21/04/18. The table was full of spilled drinks and the menu was sticky so I went to the bar and asked the bar man for a cloth so I could clean the table. The bar man rudely told me to ‘find someone working on the fooor and ask them for a cloth’. The family member I was with was not happy with the customer service and wanted to leave straight away. I have tried to phone the gatekeeper in many occasions since to complain, but it seems the line is no longer active. I have complained to Wetherspoons customer service and still no reply. Awful customer service.

Popped in for breakfast today 21st Feb 2018. There were about 3 people before me but I quickly got served. The bar staff were friendly enough, nothing special, a bit matter of fact really but I suppose they were just doing their job. Food was served in 5 minutes and was very tasty. It's a very relaxing airy pub with clean interior. Also endless refills on tea and coffee. I am a bit of a techno phobe regarding machinery but found the tea machine so easy to use and the drinks pipping hot. Will definitely visit again.

I have been in a few Wetherspoons and found this one to be my worst experience yet . I ordered food sat down and discovered I had been short late to do anything about it! My food arrived and found that a small part was raw..a young man ask if everything was fine i explained i wasn't happy and that was the last I heard about it, I know you can't have it good all the time so I will chalk it up to experience and move on from it!

Had a chocolate fudge cake with my vodka cranberry. Was peckish and the lads didn't let me have dessert on Bar 44 so had to make do. Cake was warmed up and came with ice cream although I would have preferred normal cream. May have been an option for this but thought I was already pushing my luck asking my mate to buy me cake on his round. Anyway it's a spoons. Same as most.

Service in here is awful. The only reason the pub stays open is the prices and the fact that its in the city centre. Even when giving feedback to managers they just argue and get really petty. One manager even started accusing us of placing dirty glasses on our table to make it look worse- really does make you wonder. I would recommend going next door for a much better experience.

It's a consistently average JDW pub, although it's finger is more on the pulse than most due to the location opposite the stadium and backing on to Womanby St - the live music capital of Cardiff.

Whilst here, we did witness a moron harassing customers out the back of the pub, who eventually moved on when staff spoke with him for the 3rd time.

Been here several times and for a whetherspoon chain it has a disappointing food selection. The staff openly stating they have a more limited offering of food than other members of the chain. Nice enough atmosphere and selection of drinks, but as my principal interest in a whetherspoon chain is the food I won't be returning here in future.

Slow service both upstairs and downstairs, they're always running out or don't have several of the guest beers advertised on tap - whoever does stock control here is a moron. And the food!!? Buyer beware. I've heard rumors about the kitchen hygiene and antics. Don't eat there, be very careful.

This is my favourite spoons in Cardiff, it's close to the principality/millennium stadium and attracts a better standard of clientele. It has a bar upstairs which makes it quicker to get served on busy match or concert days. It's very close to Cardiff Castle and just a short walk to the train station.

Disabled toilet lock does not secure the door, handle falls down. Also water covering floor so very dangerous. Strong smell of urine. Food lovely and staff pleasant. I had my own key for the toilet so didnt report it as you have to ask for a key to use it, if you haven't got your own

Loves a 'spoons and this one is a goodun. Always clean. Plenty of seating and very handily situated near the stadium and womanby street. Food is amazing. Only issue is the outrageous price hikes on match days. Blatantly fleecing their own customer base just because they can.

This is a very spacious 'spoons with a lift to all floors. It's also the first one I've seen with a separate menu for veggie and vegan options, great idea if you can never find the little v or ve next to a meal. Attentive staff and very clean the two visits I made.

Decent weatherspoons with a fantastic atmosphere. Has two floors and alot of seating available. The seating is comfortable as well. Food is not bad and very quick in coming out and I liked the combo sharers they had going on. Drinks value is good. Good place to watch the rugby.

As far as a budget meal is concerned it one of the best places in town. Disabled access, lifts and toilets make it a place of choice. It would have got 5 stars if it wasnt for the stupid self service coffee system. They have no de-cafe options anymore. Very disappointing.

Reasonable beer and food, but service at the bar can be ridiculously disorganised and slow. Particularly when busy. There seems to be a tendency to understaff the bar and only serve at one end. Drinks and food are reasonably priced, but you expect that at Weatherspoons.

A J.D. Weatherspoons Pub. As always friendly knowledgeable staff with drinks and food at bargain prices.
This one is very handy for the town shoppers, tourists and people using the Principality Stadium (just over the road). One of my favourites in the city.

Been a regular visitor here for some time, i.e., every three months or so.
The service has always been excellent. The food is great value for money.
Location cannot be better!
I would recommend to anyone on a budget.

The only thing that lets this place down, there was no lock on the disabled toilet on the ground floor and by the state of the door it's been like that a while. Other than that staff very friendly. Food was hot and tasty.

Typical Wetherspoon pub situated in the centre of Cardiff, just a few minutes from the stadium. Its a lot quieter and nicer than the other Wetherspoons dotted around Cardiff City Centre. Had a pleasant experience here

Another weatherspoons nothing different to any other other than the steak and kidney was Welsh steak. The food all looks the same tastes the same good food, cheap price and in old looking pub what more can you want.

There were no gates or keepers. I asked for a drink and then the bar staff provided it. I hear that's normal service in puclic House scenario's. I paid for it and then consumed it. Protocol followed

Really bizzy on this occasion so Waited long time for food witch is not to much of a problem, but what was a problem was that after waiting so long it came out just badly warm not to happy on this occasion.

A generic Wetherspoons convenient for c ardiff city centre, probably a better option than the Prince of Wales. Large downstairs bar and additional upstairs eating area. Also has full lift for easy access.

Food was usual wetherspoons standard but half the beers on display wasn't available it's ridiculous that a huge company like wetherspoons should run out of stock won't be going there again

Not good.

I arrived at 12.45. They had no Christmas lunches.
As you go in through the door it is advertised.
Very disappointed. There were 5 of us. We left and had lunch elsewhere.

It's a Wetherspoons - does what it says on the tin! Cheap and cheerful. We were very glad of it in the heavy snow - only place open!!! Mind you ... the heating wasn't working
