My daughter has swimming lessons at cally pool every week I always find the changing rooms grubby and the toilets filthy.. the floors seem to be cleaned regularly enough but that's about it. They seem to ignore snot, dirt and excrement on the walls along with General toilet cleaning. Besides all that their swimming instructors are very good! I have used both Highbury and sobell gyms in the past and I find them to be fairly good. They are clean bright and have decent equipment.

I recently took my six year old to the holiday programme I think the concept they have is very good but it is majorly let down by the not so child friendly staff, who mostly stand around engrossed in conversation with other staff members. They also thought it was perfectly ok to start closing parts of the programme areas 15mins before time despite the fact children had already spent time queuing. On that particular day the toilets were completely neglected and awful to use.

Completely useless service and incompetent, rude staff. Bundled our 4 yo and 5 mo in the freezing cold for softplay. On arrival we were told by reception that it was closed for an hour for cleaning. This was not on the website. We went for lunch and returned only to be told it was actually closed all day. When we complained we were told to 'cool down' by the woman on reception, offered a completely lacklustre apology. We were simply told there was 'no one' to update the website. This was despite the five or six staff members who had seemingly gathered to hang around reception (none of them seemed to be doing anything). As we left we heard them burst out laughing. I did not find it funny that my children had been dragged out in the cold twice due to Better's appalling customer service. Won't be returning.

Had my sons birthday party at trampoline park this afternoon. Was a bit concerned by previous reviews, but everything was fantastic.
Greeted as soon as we entered the door by friendly staff member. Throughout the afternoon the staff were great, nothing too much trouble . Food was absolutely fine - 10 year olds don't expect or want gourmet - they were more than happy with the pizza, chicken nuggets and my son even said the potato wedges were the best he's had.
My son said it was the best party he's ever had, and as a parent, that's all you want to hear. Many thanks to all the staff, we'll be back!

Huge, great building with tons of classes and things to do. Downsides are in winter the studios get extremely warm, and when you come out after exercise the walkways are shockingly cold and drafty. The women's changing room, toilets, and hand dryers are laid out in such a way that the entire changing room seems to always smell like poo from the loos. Also, classes are big and it's hard to get in a spot where you can see the instructor, even in the mirror--would be even better if there was a screen or raised platform in studios. Still a marvelous public gym and the membership price is good for what you can get out of it.

Very poor customer service. Went in to make an enquiry and there were 5 members of staff around the reception area and one on the phone talking to a customer. The staff were just talking to each other when I approached. I was then ushered with hand signals towards the member of staff who was clearly busy with a customer on the phone. I waited for the staff member on the phone to finish as the group of the staff just stood there chatting. When the lady on the phone had finished with her phone call and was ready to deal with me I could not believe her poor customer service. She just about made eye contact. Bring back Aquaterra!!

Did birthday party and kids enjoy it. But the celebrating part is disappointment. The food they call pizza is pitta bread with cheese toasted. None of the kids touch it besides they have very rude staff who throw food over the table from far creating chaos among the children. At the end the kids left hungry and thirsty due to lack of cups that come late. They treat as as we were there for free disrespectful and rude. so book play there But Never, Never birthdays. ** one more thing they are very expensive 18 pound per child.

I only used the on day free pass, it cost approx 35 pounds to join and about 50 pounds per month for membership.

The gym wasnt busy given the size of it. All equipment appeared new and to be in good working order. There is plently treadmills, bikes etc. Didnt use any other facilities besides gym. Note u cannot use their sauna everyday as they have girl days and guy days.

Group class studio looked new and modern too.

Bad - Poor ventiliation, way too hot for a gym.

The facilities themselves on offer are of a reasonable quality here, however there are serious problems with admission of customers at reception. You often have to queue for over five minutes just to check in. Recent installation of barriers have made matters worse because the managent appear to have reduced the number of staff on reception at peak times.

I don't blame the staff at reception for these problems. I think the issue is with the management of the place.

It's a very good place for family activities and training your self to be well balanced in trampling tennis ice skating feather ball and many more active sports on a daily basis. There is a cafe here but it's very pricey for family's watching there bodgets i recommend you bring your own drinks to keep you hydrated whilst you visit. Prices for entery is a little cheaper on week days than on weekends, but you are sure to have a good time here.

The Centre itself is great and offers a diverse range of activities. However, the staff has no understanding of what customer service standards should be. More often than not people have to wait in the queue\\u200b for minutes on end because the staff is having a chit chat with the customer they're serving, which means in many occasions\\u200b being late for the activities even if you arrived before the start time.

We come here to go to the safari soft play. The soft play is clean and well maintained. It doesn't get too busy as you can only stay an hour. Each session starts on the hour. There is a baby section and a bigger section. You can't buy food and drinks in the soft play area but can bring your own food. There is a cafe in the main area of the Sobel Centre which is pretty nice. Reception could be better staffed.

To all men thinking of using the sauna in the evening beware of a group/gang of older West Indian men. They will be watching you very closely to the point you may even feel vulnerable for your own safety. They are also very loud and arrogant with no care of the other service users. Staff at the centre do not run the sauna they do. Never again will I attend and spend my money to be subjected to this kind of behaviour.

Customer service is very poor, staff often avoid eye contact when you come in and don’t know how to to say hi or even smile. Some staff are friendly and approachable br most Reception staff look like they don’t want to be there.

The toilets are usually dirty and smell. On weekends the broken bins are overloaded with nappies.

The gym area itself has what you need, could do with a good clean.

The centre has good facilities but since GLL/better have taken over the customer service has become awful. At my latest visit I could see 4 staff members at reception...no other customers but it still took 5 mins for me to be seen to. The lady that spoke to me couldn't even be bothered to look at me while she was talking to me. Just very rude! Not welcoming at all.

I have just visited the newly refurbished soft play area and it looks fantastic! I was the first person to arrive in the morning so managed to take a picture to share.Good to see improvements being made on the centre! They are currently building a new reception and café area which I think will be a welcomed addition! Staff are friendly and always willing to help.

Great facility. We come here for badminton every Friday and Sunday - it takes us 15-20mins only for the payment! Terrible - which makes me wonder whether it's the system which is slow or the lady behind the counter - Caroltyn. For Fridays and sundays, they should have two people at least behind the counter to process payments. There's always a long queue.

There are a good amount of recently refurbished squash courts here, although most of the convenient time slots i.e. after work are booked up a week in advance. I also agree with some other reviews re receptionists being painfully slow when serving customers, although if you make it clear you have a pre-booked court you are sometimes let through quickly

The sauna changing rooms are DISGUSTING, is such a dirty place... it's been like this for a long time. Avoid the mixed sessions of the weekends, those man are sexual harassing troglodytes. The gym is ok and the people there are helpful and nice, the yoga is sadly made in a small unpleasant noisy room, the yoga teachers are nice.

Has everything except a swimming pool. Always full of locals, warm and welcoming atmosphere. All sorts in the gym, also lots of clubs and classes to choose from, badminton to trampolining. Going through renovation at the moment and it looks promising from what I've already seen with more lockers situated by the halls.

The centre is understaffed. There is rarely people there to help at reception and I've never managed to get through to anyone over the phone on option 8. The safari Soft play is dusty and some of the windows are actually missing panes at the top. I'm not sure how often it is cleaned. The place needs some TLC.

I play basketball and squash here. The basketball is a really well organised half-court pick-up game and the guy who runs it is amazing - super friendly. The other facilities are pretty good too. The only real letdown of the Sobell is that it is almost impossible to get someone on the phone, just rings and rings.

I go here regularly for badminton. It's fine, but the company that runs it (ironically called 'Better') are really annoying. They recently introduced entrance gates so now you have to queue up to get a small pointless slip of paper before you are allowed in, even if you have booked ahead.

The redevelopment has been good enough but at busy times they clearly need more staff to keep things in order like the toilets and the softplay. It was a shame that in the trampolines they have a security video that is very putting off small children but the trampoline park is great.

I really like the centre and I go there every Thursday for PE but once one of the ice skating instructors insulted my haircut and now I am self conscious and every one is insulting me so he's made my life a living hell. BTW: It was the black man instructor. I feel sad now

Unfortunately the centre has changed for the worse. They have given up half the court space for a trampoline Park - sounds fun in the short term but has forced my group of badminton players out from the centre as we can't get a booking on the remaining courts.

Very cold place and there's not swimming pool which is a shame, very small gym and the worst Sauna and steam room area I've ever seen but they have a great sport hall, nice activities for kids, nice studios and friendly cleaning staff.

An average class sports centre. Very difficult to get a free parking space. At least 4 traffic wardens are on the run to chase your car- in that parking area. Building isn't modern. Huge room inside.
I used to play Badminton there.

Although the rink is smaller, the ice QUALITY is much better than the ones around London, especially compared to Queensway Ice and Bowl, and Streatham Ice and Leisure.

Renting the ice here is also significantly cheaper.

I tried to call in two different occasions. One of them I was finally attended after called 8 times and waiting for more than 20 minutes and second time I called another 8 and I just gave up, nodoby picks up the phone. Shameful.
