(We would like to have awarded a further 'half star' to this restaurant if that facility had been available.)

It was a snowy Saturday morning and we arrived in Plumstead on the 53. It was kicking up a blizzard as we approached the McDonald's drive thru on foot, led by the Golden Arches, but uncertain how or where to enter. I had received a communication about 'the return of the Mozzerella Dippers,' 'the big reveal.' The communication left no space for our felt ambivalence, so we went to find out for ourselves. Once we had negotiated the labyrinthine underpass and the aluminium and wood-effect enclosure that shepherds cars, we were confronted at the tills by an advert for the very dippers we came in search of. The pricing was clear, the illustration accurate. We were sold and set about ordering right away. In addition to the aforesaid dippers I ordered the classic double cheeseburger (£1.49) and a small coke (although many people think of McDonalds as a place to order excessive food and drink, they also offer smaller sizes such as a 250 ml serving size for the customer who knows their limits.) My dining companion ordered the cheese sticks for themselves and took the plunge and ordered a toffee latte. As we were waiting, an amoniac waft tickled our nostrils (source unconfirmed). In the pause in between ordering and receiving our food, we were enthralled by the time-and-motion choreography of globalised capitalism embodied in the stacked lids, the timing of the chips, the thrusting of trays, screeching of reciepts, tapping of contactless cards... in minutes that felt like seconds, we watched our lovingly wrapped burger traverse the dispensing chute, our cream extruded and our 'Mozzerella dippers returned' with its proprietary salsa. My dining companion remarked that the first lashings of cream and toffee drizzle topping on her coffee tasted, 'like summer holidays in a bad way.' She also remarked of the salsa accompanying the cheese dunkers, 'food tasted like this in the 90s'. As I let the notes of the salsa play on my tongue, I was captivated by a certain je ne sais quoi. Scrutiny of the salsa packet ingredients revealed, 'dried glucose syrup', which perhaps explained its elusive gustatory quality. At first bite, the dippers disappointed. Despite the pleasingly stretchy cheese behaviour, the texture was more rubber than cream. Were we deluded for having imagined these dippers would have been lovingly hand crafted? Their uniform shape, size and texture spoke of a harsh industrial process. Ho hum, we came for the dippers and stayed for the ambiance. We were met with smiles everywhere we looked, including the toilet attendant who thanked me for using the facilities. In the three and a half hours we lingered over our fast food, we were not made to feel we had overstayed our welcome. A few extra points before we conclude. 1.) we enjoyed the opportunity to familiarise ourselves with the latest chart hits, the soundtrack to our experience. 2.) it was obvious that others felt welcome. Some arrived in slippers, one man in some rather fetching pyjamas! 3.) children of all ages are catered for here- balloons are as common a feature as burgers here! We left replenished in body and soul, ready to investigate the curious local earthworks on the roundabout opposite. (Which we have written about at length elsewhere) and a stroll past Belmarsh.

Horrible service at the Plumstead McDonald's branch. Management accused us of sabotaging our food in exchange for a free burger whereas if they were capable of making a decent burger in the first place we would not have had to drive all the way back to the restaurant to show them the horrific burger which was drenched in salt and pepper seasoning. Even then they were adamant that they certainly could not have done it because their salt shaker was standard measure. Ignorant female manager who cannot admit to her staff's mistakes. When comparing the amount of salt and pepper on that burger, it was equivalent to three times the amount of a regular burger, absolutely unacceptable! Female manager was very immature and extremely rude by telling us to bring the burger down to the establishment, once we did she wasn't even there in person! Female manager is just as appalling as the burger we received.

Never ever will we return to that branch again !

From the Chinese man who drives the Mercedes and comes in 3-4 times a week (you know who I am)

New refurbished McDonald's (reopened on the 1st of November 2017), great atmosphere, completely new, with self-service kiosks, table service, iPads for kids and new tables. Try to avoid the place around 4pm during the week as is usually crowded with kids from school and service will be slow (if you can find a table). Drive thru is usually quick, but often they forgot sauces or dips in the order.

It was 3am waited ages to order...only the wrap of the day ...waited to collect.. .then told to park up and wait. When I got the food questioned why I had to wait. Was told the people infront ordered 3 lots of meals which caused mine to delay..really the place was empty.. its supposed to be a drive through! It happens alot at Plumstead McDonalds

How hard is it to get an order right... all you have to do is put sauce on a burger. Literally, you have the easiest job in the world and you cant even get that right. 5 times this has happened, and 3 of those times the lettuce has been BROWN. I give up never bothering again and advisong my friends and family not to bother either.

I smoke but very unpleasant for night team to sit direct in from of entrance puffing away and then return to work with not washing there hands.
Being awheere of what's exceptable in customer service is key. Fast food chaine or not

The customer service is good, on the odd ocation they have your order wrong or they haven't changed the pump for the coke machine so this can mean it taste like water despite that, acurate, fast paced & a great outcome.

Best McDonald's in London, it is very, very clean and the food is always fresh. Also as it is away from the high street and popular with drivers (has a drive through) the place is not frequently visited by troublemakers.

It's not a big place, but I suppose most of the appeal is in the drive through. Actually .. I went there on my bicycle once on my way home from a ride out to Crossness. It wasn't my idea. Blame Hannah.

I ordered food with UberEats, I received everything else apart from the two cheeseburgers I ordered. McDonalds always seem to be doing this and missing food in my order and it is so disappointing and frustrating.

Very friendly, polite staff. Some of the best looking Big Mac's and Quarter Pounders I've seen over the years. Milkshake machine has been broken both times I've visited over the last six months.

New and fresh McDonalds including a drive thru, staff is very friendly but of course they offer same unhealthy food as all other branches, nevertheless very convenient when you're in a hurry.

It's a great little McDonald's the staff are friendly and fast although when it's busy they may make mistakes on orders but apart from that highest recommendations from me.

There is a lady, doing a fantastic face painting for kids. My son had it done twice there.
And very friendly old lady bringing coloring books and pencils.
Nice, clean place.

Yes, the food here is unhealthy, but I like it. The burgers and fries are perhaps their most popular menu items and the people just love them. The staff is always friendly and smiling.

Very very poor half the staff can't even speak English and the ones that do talk amongst themselves other than to paying customers shockingly bad mcdonalds

If arriving by train in the morning get quality coffee from hatch next to station, then bring it down here for a McMuffin meal & orange juice. Heaven!

I know its junk food, but we all crave it.

This particular branch is very good, the staff is very pleasant, the restaurant is clean and big.

I think this is the best McDonald's in Bexley, and Greenwich between. Good staff, and very friendly. I love their Big Mac, and double cheeseburger.

Kept me waiting in my car for 20 minutes when i used the drive thru. After complaining i was given my order - cold. Obviously some management issue

opening 24 hour in my location, no other place to go other than here, drive through wait can be sometimes long however, all good other than that.

Good service by serving staffs but hats off to the lady who was keeping the front of the house clean and interacting with the kids.

Breakfast don't start till 5 am , would be better if it started at 4 am, seeing how it's a 24 hour McDonald's.
