Awful food and service! Unfortunately for us, we chose a table near the TV (which was on silent at the time with some nice background music playing), just as our food came out the music went off and the TV was put on full volume and all the footy fans pulled their chairs up around us! Felt like all eyes were on us as we ate so we then took our plates and moved to another table, the bar staff watched this without offering any help and most importantly did not advise us that there was another seating area out the back away from all the TV noise and shouting. Then to top it all, just as my husband was eating his last piece of garlic bread (bread in hand and chewing) a member of staff came up to us, whipped our plates away without a word and walked off with them, even though there was still food in the bowls! The food looked and tasted like they had purchased it from the shop opposite (Iceland), it was the worst that I have had in a while! We were not the only couple complaining. They even went down into the cellar and left the hatch open for anyone to fall down! Will never return!

This 500-year-old pub is back at last; it's now under new management, and they've redone the whole place. The food is good (especially for a pub-- at least restaurant quality). There's an interesting selection of real ales, generally including ones I haven't heard of. The staff are friendly and the service is fast, after a few teething troubles in the first week. The wheelchair accessibility isn't very good, but manageable.

A very pretty pub located on the pedestrianised high street. It serves a good selection of well kept beer, and the staff are always happy for you to 'try before you buy'. There is pleasant outside seating, including a large covered grass hut style area.
The food is a little pricy for what it is, and a medium-rare steak came back well done.
Definitely worth a visit for a drink and a chat with friends.

Great food and great service. Just been here 2nd time for lunch, this time inside as it was too cold outside, what apparently did not bother some local community. The service was great again, staff kind and helpful in choice. The food was delicious, even chips tasted a bit different, better. Definietly one to consider next time as still a few options to try from the menu.

An ex work colleague and I had evening meal here. The service was excellent as was the good. The portions were generous and despite us talking for ages with our starter, when we were ready for our main course, it arrived freshly prepared. We were never rushed, and the service was well paced. Egham isn't local for me, but I will make the journey given my experience.

Great place to park yourself for a few beers and pub food. Fairly popular with the locals this is a great looking spot with a decent selection of beers and IPAs. Quick service at the bar, and lots of cosy nooks to sit back and relax. Overall a good spot in Egham, right on the high Street and fair prices

Nice atmosphere - staff were very friendly and tolerant of nippers. The good is excellent and a cut above other pubs in the area. Decent size inside and has some good, sheltered outdoor space, which whilst not including a garden is still a nice option in warmer weather.

Traditional English pub experience with some contemporary modern options. We had a lovely warm pita, hummus, feta appetizer then veggie burger and fish n chips. All very tasty. Big screen tv's show sports.

This pub is under new management, so the old reviews on here do not reflect it at all. It's a friendly place, and the food is of a very good standard. I thoroughly recommend it

Really very good food, service was ok but not brilliant. Vast improvement from previous owners. Great that this local pub has come back life.

Service was awful, food not bad but expensive for what it is, as was the price of alcohol, won't be going there again !!

Nice pub with a traditional pub food menu. Scampi and chips, that kind of thing. Big portions and a decent selection of ales.

Good food and beer. Avoid Premiership football evenings if you want a quiet drink. Restaurant is separated from bar.

Definitely an 'old man's' pub; the Landlord, when I visited, was quite rude and brash!

Expensive beer. Food is more expensive than some of the high street restaurants and nothing special.
