Booked a table for 9 people. It was confirmed. We arrived on time at 1.30pm and part of our table had been knowingly given away. They offered for 9 of us to squeeze onto the 6 person table. They then offered for us to wait for our table to become fully available (the people sat down had not even been given there food!). We had small children with us , and I was on a time limit - so we couldnt wait for there mistake to be rectified. We had booked this table to celebrate my Dad's birthday. Fortunately Portobello's next door were able to accommodate us (great food and service). This is really poor customer service and was not a mistake down to human error, they had attempted to get another table in when there clearly wasn't time or space just to make a few extra £££ - terrible way to treat people!!

We booked for an early table (6.15) on a Thursday. Just as well because by 7.00 the place was absolutely full and very busy. We couldn't fault our meal. It is a pizza and Italian-dishes restaurant, as the name suggests. Great and tasty ingredients, well-cooked and presented, good choice, helpful and friendly service, amazing prices, good house wine by the carafe. We booked for the next night, having been to other nearby restaurants on previous evenings where the food had been good but not in the same league. This is not elegant dining - just great food and service in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Good food and very family friendly (although no children's menu so you'll either share a pizza with them or order a starter size portion of pasta). Always very busy (even on weeknights) so booking is a good idea. Seating outside the front to watch the world go by is great in the summer. Since the recent refurb the acoustics inside seem a bit better, though it can still be noisy when the restaurant is full. Lunch deals Monday to Thursday are good value. Excellent staff, always very attentive and eager to help.

The sign for 20 of the best pizzerias in England, he cope. Mamma Mia is a very well visited pizzeria in Oxford. Reservation is advisable.
The staff is friendly, but sometimes seemed hectic because of the large rush.
The food is very good. Have not eaten such a good pizza for a long time. Prices are reasonable. There is Italian beer. Even otherwise, good Italian cuisine is offered here.
The room could withstand a few noise reducing elements, since the noise was high due to the high demand.

This place is so child friendly it's sometimes like eating in the middle of a kid's birthday party. That said, it's usually very civilised and welcoming. A great menu and wine list, genuine Italian and beautifully cooked from the finest ingredients. Happy, enthusiastic service by really nice people. I really rate this place, there's not a meal I haven't enjoyed and I've eaten here a lot. Booking advised, it's deservedly very popular.

I do like this place a lot, the food is good and they don’t mind kids. That said, they pack you in and the service can be very slow. Some staff are inexperienced and there is a distinct lack of leadership a small busy restaurant needs. There isn’t a kids menu so be prepared to give your five year old an adult sized pizza (ok if you’re sharing but the rest of our group ate pasta). Note they do an excellent tiramisu

If you want to eat Pizza in Oxford, go to Mamma Mia! My personal recommendation are the Staggioni and Anna, but all others are great, too.
The staff are very kind and do everything to accommodate your needs when it comes to larger parties or particular requirements.
Do be aware that on school days (esp. Fridays), it can be quite full in the early evening, so do book in advance if you can.

It was a very delicious shop
Pizza, pasta and garlic mushrooms received
Even though the store clerk is near the end of the lunch time, I cleared up the table without having a bad face, I set it up again and greeted me with a high evaluation
The set of lunch time is reasonable and worth to try ~

Great atmosphere. Not been here for 10 or more years , but I was pleasantly surprised to see that not much has changed with the decor or the menu. It was just like coming back to a place I had great memories of.
The only downside of the experience was the coffee. Apart from that I recommend it.

We came along last night and were very happy to find this place. The staff are really friendly and the food came super quickly.
We shared a pizza and some garlic bread followed by a dessert. The pizza was absolutely delicious and I think the staff did everything they could for us! Thanks!

Great place for Thin Crust Pizzas in Oxford.
We started with the Fried Zucchini Sticks along with Prawn & Avocado Antipasti. For the main course we had Pollo e Spinaci, San Fernando and Margherita Pizzas.
The food came out great and so was the service.

There's always something magical about the small of this place. The fresh flavour of the basil on top of the Pizza Margherita or the perfectly cooked Pasta e Pomodoro...it really looks like stepping in a restaurant in italy. Molto buono!

Good place for lunch with kids. Pizza is good here. After challenge pizza in some other places in Oxford, I back to 'Mamma Mia Summertown', because just here I found eatable pizza (other places wasn't good at all).

Delicious pizza, unfortunately service leaves a lot to be desired. 45 minutes after being seated still no drinks. Ended up leaving shortly after pizzas arrived due to waiting such a long time for food.

Yes can eat decently, but nothing exceptional. The pizzas are too thin, almost 'crunchy' See photos. Friendly staff. Fair prices. Two pizzas a small ore a small beer 29 pounds.

My family and I have been going to this gem of a local Italian place for 15 years and it has never yet disappointed us. Delicious pizzas family friendly vibe, perfect.

Love the pizza here. Well made, tasty Italian pizzas. Great service despite it being busy. Good selection for veggies and for those that don't drink alcohol.

We come here regularly and love their pizzas. It doesn't have a baby changing facility or a kids menu though. Otherwise they are very child friendly!

Went there on a Monday night. Garlic Mushrooms, Lasagne & Orange Juice .... £18.50 ..... But food was good and service was a bit stifling ...

Expensive but you get what you pay for. Love their pizza but not sure about the pasta which I tried only once. Perhaps it's just me.

Could this be the best pizza in Oxford??
It certainly has the best garlic mushrooms in the city and the best tiramisu in the county

It's a smallish pizzeria where the pizza was good but not outstanding and the service was very good
