HEINOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. APPARENTLY RACIST STAFF (SERIOUSLY?). VERY LOW QUALITY SUSHI FOR PRICE. THEY KEEP THEIR EXTRA NAPKINS, SOYA SAUCE, WASABI, GINGER, AND SUCH HIDDEN BY THE COUNTER AND WILL NOT GIVE THEM TO YOU UNLESS YOU BEG. THEY WILL NOT OFFER YOU THEIR STUDENT DISCOUNT UNLESS YOU ASK FOR IT SIX SEPARATE TIMES. YOU CAN EASILY SPEND OVER 20 POUNDS ON ATROCIOUSLY BAD 'JAPANESE' FOOD HERE AND THEY WILL ACT LIKE THEY ARE DOING YOU A FAVOR.

Also don't ever try to use the public bathroom in this location as a customer. Employees will come knocking violently like a herd of ax murderers as you are trying to do your business and even if you tell them you are inside, they will continue to harass you with loud screaming and knocks every few minutes until you finally finish. Then, they will blame it on supposed 'heroin users' whom they say live in their neighborhood and they have to protect the restaurant from.

Because this place is bright, shiny, in the middle of Cornmarket, it looks so easy to make an impulse buy from if you are running somewhere and suddenly have a hankering for sushi. Do yourself a favor: Avoid this Itsu at all costs. The sushi and customer service at the newly opened sushi takeaway across the street is MUCH better -- and, if you want to support real Japanese food in Oxford, just look at the top of Cowley Road.

This Itsu is a disgrace to its brand and the town of Oxford, and it would not exist if the types of people who own it did not have such a low opinion of students in Oxford and their savoir faire as customers to begin with.

I ordered a teriyaki chicken takeaway at 8:15pm on Tues evening (30/05). When I got home, I discovered that the meal I was given consisted of chicken pieces that were all dried and hard. The rice was also dried and hard. It was all totally inedible and quite disgusting. I could only surmise that the person in the kitchen had scraped the last remains of the day and served it. If I lived closer I would have brought it back to complain. Really unacceptable service! I would advise anyone ordering the rice and hot dishes here to check the exact time that the meal was prepared.

Price is ok- actually quite decent if you buy the big sets.
Staff a bit rude.
Salmon and tuna nigiri were not great- the rice was a bit hard (under-cooked or old, I don't know) and it looked like a lot of the fish weren't sliced properly.
Hot vege gyoza- terrible. Shriveled, dry, tasteless.

No clue where all these bad reviews have come from ??? This place is consistently lovely and the staff are consistently helpful. I've had no issues with student discounts and I've been eating here for ages. The hot food selection is practically addictive and it's (fairly) guilt free!

I always have the chicken teryaki rice potsu: warm, sweet, salty, fresh vegetables, succulent meat, ginger, lemongrass. It's perfect and never disappoints. It'll keep me full for a good 4-5 hours. All the sushi dishes are fresh and tasty. The salmon sashimi is so creamy. Free water too.

A solid choice for healthier eating in Oxford.

Spicy tuna roll with miso soup start and a dry asahi beer. Clean presentation and a well chosen palette.

The intense blue light in the toilet was a little strange. Felt like I was about to be attacked by Daleks in the loo.

Very good place to eat a quick meal. They have very good cold / hot food and variety of options for breakfast / lunch. The staff is super friendly and serve in good spirits. Lot of seating space downstairs and upstairs. Perfect for a break during your visit to the high street.

Usually overpriced, but they do half-price on everything half an hour before they shut. That's when you want to visit (the times are available on the website). The sushi is good, but not as good as the newly-opened Wasabi, just a 30-second walk away.

I went in for 'Fit Eggs' breakfast two days running. Then I bought a chocolate croissant from Pret ;-). But seriously... I love the menu here and if I lived locally I would use it lots more. Wonderful, fresh food. :-)

Food was delicious, but service wasn't so good . We had to ask 3 people the same question to get an answer. The only problem with the food was that the gyoza were only slightly warm. I would definitely recommend eating here.

Good clean healthy food and decent prices, along with a pleasant atmosphere. Perfect food to take away whether for picnics or sit-down formality. Try not to think about what they do with all the packaging they produce, though...

I had the same food twice in a ceramic bowl, really tasty, big portion. Last time in the paper / takeaway bowl the portion left me hungry. I've been told they use the same spoon. Alright, but I'm the same hungry.

This is usually my go-to place for a quick bite. Thai Chicken bowl hot pot and they have a student discount as well. They typically have 50% off sushi 30 minutes before they close (they run out pretty quickly).

Their new vegetarian and vegan options are delicious! Get yourself there on a Monday night for the best deals. Don't be surprised by the fancy Japanese toilets. Generally fast service even when busy.

I liked the food but not the atmosphere, too chaotic. I also think it's quite expensive if you are a tourist and you want to eat healthy things instead of McDonald's or other types of fast food.

if you want food poisoning, low quality sushi, and small fish portions this is your spot! Tesco quality sushi? No thanks. Ordered, went straight into the trash and went elsewhere.

Get your wallet out and be ready to spend some big money on water and noodles. Don't get me wrong I love this style of food but this is just capitalizing and cloning to High Streets across the UK.

Great place to eat lunch. Not really a place for your family to eat for dinner; but more like a quick lunch area. Healthy and refreshing food, and the service is usually great.

Super friendly staff and a wide variety of food. They do smoothie as well from raw veggies/fruits you choose. High stools very easy to come by. All in all an excellent venue !

My daughter and I loved this so much we went there twice in one day! Good, healthy, clean food with an Asian basis - food you feel good eating and tastes great too!

Delicious food. Only wished they didn't waste so much plastic. It's all one use cutlery, and they should really think about switching to wooden/reusable.

Love their food. And the beer they got there - a Japanese one I think - is the best I have ever tried - served extremely cold - Highly recommended to try it.

A bit pricey, like all sushi places. They also make good warm pots. I think it's a perfect alternative to the other fast-food shops on Cornmarket :)

Oxford is located downtown, a lot of the crowd, but the rapid replenishment, the seat is quite enough, a lot of guests at any time, the food delicious.

Popped in of an evening. The staff were very friendly and inviting. The food was very reasonably priced and tasted good. I would recommend this place.

I like the principle of Asian fast food! The dish was good but did not match the Panda Express chain in the USA and even less Thai Express of Canada!

Though it is you increase compared to Japan, salmon is crap taste I (≧ ∇ ≦)
There is only close to the Nordic world producer of salmon indeed.

I didn’t like the service, they were quite rude. Also, I didn’t really appreciate the food, but it’s at the same time really cheap, so..

For this price, best sushi and sashimi. The teriyaki is excellent too. Half hour before they close you'll get a discount of 50%.

I did not like it, it's a bit expensive and they charge you 20% more, if you eat, there's a seated I will not go back
