Small but well designed and cosy bedroom but there was limited space for hanging clothes. King sized bed with a truly comfortable mattress. Great food in the restaurant. Loved the beef and ale pie and also the battered haddock, mushy peas and chips, though the wild mushroom and spinach lasagne was not quite up to the same standard. Monster full English breakfast. Great atmosphere which we hope to enjoy next time we are in that beautiful part of England again.

Loved it. Just off the A1, so, perfect for a stopover en route to the North or South, and in our case, for a visit to Newark. Hendrick's Gin & tonic on the terrace on a warm summer evening, great food, a modern stylish bedroom with a huge bed all made our stay excellent. I would take away 1 point for the shower, which was a thermal adventure, but my GF said it behaved for her, so... what do I know! Will come back. Will recommend to friends.

Food lovely service was good too but once again let down by not having the eggs royale for breakfast. Every time we come this is off the menu but today I was able to order it and then told that you didn’t have it after all leaving me disappointed again. It’s a shame as we always enjoy breakfast here but just fed up of never being able to have this breakfast item. Maybe you should take it off the menus if it cannot be provided?

Good beer (CastleRock) friendly staff and the most wonderful terrace to enjoy on a sunny day (they even provided sun tan cream, how nice is that?). We didn't try the food but it looked amazing and smelt even better. There is a play area for kids but it has no tables so not perfect for really little ones as you will have to stay with but great for slightly older and the equipment all seemed new.

A very warm welcome as part of a larger party. Ample parking, good choice of draught offerings, compact but comfortable bar and seating areas. Friendly staff, good service and very thoughtful selection of dishes on both main and a la carté menus. Delicious vegetarian options, carefully presented. Try the Staunton Arms, you will not be disappointed. :)

Always a great welcome from Julian, Andy and the team!

The food is delicious (can't recommend the homemade pies enough!) and friends have all complimented the rooms.

A really, really good British pub, with great ales, a warm welcome and scrummy food. Highly recommended!

Stopped off here on way home to Scotland after touring Europe on motorbike. Justin was so helpful and the perfect host and the food....delicious.
All cooked and prepared fresh. He accomodated our request for a room near the bike and it was perfect!
Definitely use his place again.

Family friendly pub, food was good and staff extremely helpful. Nice play area outside for children too. We had sunday roasts of all varieties and food was complimented all round. Despite being a large group, service was prompt and efficient. Recommended.

A truely special place. Great pub great beer and food. Very nice staff. Several nice rooms. Supports the village and community. Helps in publicising a local memorial to the crew of a wartime Lancaster bomber crash. W4270 lost on February 18th 1943.

Fantastic food. Easily the best food we've experienced in Nottinghamshire. Good beer selection. Great service, the manager (Andy I think) is really on the ball.

Food was ok, went for Sunday lunch. Meat was good, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding not up to standard. Dessert was very good but wouldn't recommend at the price

Great pub, menu is excellent and seems to change one weekly basis. The pub has an old fashioned interior but with very stylish modern flairs. Highly recommend
