Really warm welcome at the dove and a great selection of real ales. Two regular ales (Woodfordes Wherry and Crouch Vale Brewers Gold) and four guest ales that change frequently. Limited food options but the pork pie (supplied by a local butchers) made for a nice snack between beers. The pub inside and out is nothing special, but the important ingredients are spot on, good beer, reasonable prices, lots of variety and friendly knowledgable staff.

Honest old-fashioned pub; 4 stars would be an insult; 6 handpumps; more beers on gravity; prices are risibly low; table games equipment available; no music; no bandits; car park; outdoor tables; enthusiastic, committed & friendly licensee; must be one of England's 10 best pubs; interesting historical article on website;

A regular feature in the Good Beer Guide, The Dove is a fantastic pub that specialises in real ale- if you want a lager, don't come here!

There is a regular circulation of predominantly local ales, all of a high quality.

The bar snacks are excellent, in particular, the pork scratching!

A very friendly, real ale pub with an excellent, ever-changing, selection of good beers, all priced very competitively. I love the fact they even serve a few beers from jugs because they're aren't enough handpulls - they just can't get the beer out fast enough!

Love love love coming to the dove! Roger and his Staff are lovely. Just a good oldfashion pub. No TV no Fruit machines, No Food - but great drinks and snacks, Pork scratching are the best in Suffolk. Lovely atmosphere, Great drinkers, no trouble!

A great place to sit with friends. Pleasant staff. I tried a new snack for beer (in Belarusian, 'pork bacon', and in English it sounds like 'pork pie'! It was delicious and the beer also liked it.)

Excellent beer, well kept and served with a constantly changing line up of ales at sensible prices.
Very comfortable pub to drink with relaxed atmosphere, candidate for best pub in the world.

A no nonsense drinker's pub. Great selection of real ales and ciders that are changed daily, friendly staff and always packed with locals. No TVs or gambling machines just a traditional pub.

Fab old fashioned beer house with little pretensions to modern times but superbly kept always changing British ale. No lager permitted. Friday night is a crush. Pork scratchings worth a try.

I love this place ! It’s like chicken soup for the soul ! After a bad day 2 pints of wherry , a pork pie , pork scratchings and a bottle to take home all for a tenner !

Real ale pub with fine selection of local brews. A bottled lager option would be nice, but great atmosphere if a little crowded at times.

Last of real ale pubs, no larger on sale, staff know their beer. Can become really packed and decor is bit ropey in places

Would be 5 stars if they served food. There's only so many pork scratchings one can eat.
