The food quality is amazing, taste is authentic, good portions of orders...The tables are well placed and overall place is very clean.
However, service is pathetic; our experience wid Manager was not at all pleasurable..We ordered Lemonade which any person would expect to it to contain fresh lime and soda, instead we were given 'Sprite' and were rudely told by Managers that this is what Lemonade means in the UK and that we shouldn't expect the way Lemonade id served in respective home country, in my opinion this was absolute rude way to talk wid Customer.
The fun didn't end there, when we weren't sure about Dessert we thought we would first order single qty and then if we like it we shall order more, The Manager made wierd face and told why is Dessert only one in 4 people, is it mandatory for ordering Dessert for everyone who is sitting ? Or is Customer expected to increase sales target of Manager???

Overall experience, very good in food but equally opposite in service and Manager.

pls refer to false replies on this by owners, repent to have dined in the place.

Food at aroma not per the expectation, service more disappointing. More sauce than meat in the 2 currys we ordered. Butter chicken which is chefs signature dish and prawn curry both tasted similar, may be because the curry base was same - felt over load of onions. Hyderabad biryani is definitely not aunthenic it's just spicy rice served with daal - not tasty (do not order it if you're a biryani fan you will lose the love). Service was fast but impolite, when the mains were served the lady in bar (who was shouting good byes to guests from behind the bar) decided to give us fresh cutlery but instead of placing it by the plates she ensured to put it in our plates when we had started eating already could have easily put it by the plates, plus no one from the 3 floor staff bothered to ask for feedback which was odd because it is a standard practice pretty much in every restaurant (feedback form at the end is slipped with the bill). Desserts are average, gajar halwa better than kulfi which tasted like frozen mango lassi. Don't think will visit again, over all 1 star for nice mint sauce and tandoor platter

Perfectly balanced and expertly combined flavours! Best Indian food I have had in years... maybe ever! I tasted my friends dishes and all were to the same high standard. The service is also excellent. Very helpful and qualified but not pushy. Our waiter knew exactly what was in each dish and was happy to advise and recommend when asked. They are focussed on making sure you enjoy your meal. They don't try to sell you the most expensive thing. Where our waiter felt plain boiled rice would be better suited to a particular dish, he advised us accordingly. Can't rate Aroma highly enough.
IF YOU LIKE SPICY... be sure to ask for your dish to be extra spicy. I think it is unfair that some people have marked the restaurant down for some dishes not being spicy enough.... you can always ADD spice but you obviously can't take it out so I think it is very considerate that they prepare their dishes accordingly. I love VERY spicy food and they were very happy to oblige and it was perfect.

We wandered into this restaurant without a reservation. This was the best rated Indian restaurant on Google maps in the area. They were kind enough to offer a table in 45 min. I strongly recommend booking a table in advance.

This is a genuine South Indian restaurant, not your typical curry house, reflected in the menu and the flavours. We were too hungry to take photos before eating and once you dive in to the food here, can't stop.

They have pretty good wine paired with the Indian food and I'd go with their recommendations. They also had a good selection of desserts. I went with my favourite of Pistachio Kulfi and it did not disappoint.

Service was a bit slow that day but this was more due to the volume of customers.

Food quality and portions were good , but a big thumbs down for the service. Manager needs to go back to her college if she has attended any and understand the meaning hospitality in food service.

The manager who attended us made us feel that she was over burdened with work being the sole person taking orders and ordered us to give our entire order from the starters to the main course all at once !

Secondly, when we ordered Lemonade the manager gave us Sprite and tried to educate us that Lemonade in the UK means Sprite ! That was ridiculous ! She could have politely told us they din make fresh lime and hence could not serve lemonade .

All in all good food but please improve your service.

Came in here as a group of 12 last Saturday and I have to say it was one of the best 'traditional' Indian meals I have had for a while. Service is both prompt and polite. Food quality and serving size are also excellent. You can tell that the majority of the food is cooked from scratch and the careful balance of spices in all our meals was evident. My sheekh kebab starter was delicious and the home made mint sauce was fresh and sharp. My only issue is that the draught lager was dreadful - it was flat and not the best tasting, so stick to bottled beer. Understandable as to why this restaurant is so highly regarded in Gloucester.

Excellent quality South indian food. Plenty of interesting choices for vegetarians and vegans too (and most veggie dishes are available in main or side portion size).
Our waiter was very attentive and our waitress was very friendly - she chatted about real topics not just pleasantries.
Our only negative comment (which we forgot to mention) is that its not a good idea to put the complementary chocolates on a tray UNDER the hot towels!

Friendly and professional service. We shared a selection of starters (calamari starter and chickpea starter are really nice). The mains were really good too, didn't have a layer of oil on top - really nice curry.
They have cobra on tap so you can't bring your own alcohol.
Will definately be going again.

Perfect for me, whilst in Gloucester I found a restaurant that can make South Indian vegetarian food very very well. My dosa was filling and delicious and what is more the service was exemplary, so if you are vegan head here for wonderful food and a great experience.

Had an exceptional and very reasonably priced lunch here in pleasant surroundings with excellent service. The food was very well spiced and better than most meals of this type which I've had in the past - and I've enjoyed a lot of Indian meals.

The food here is amazing! Also, the notion to charge people for leaving food is an awesome thought, but executed poorly! The only bad thing about this place is the attitude of the people serving the food. But for the food, no words but awesome!

Great food and good service, slightly more expensive than your running the mill curry house but we'll worth it. If you're going at this time of the year don't sit anywhere near the door if you don't want to sit in your coat.

Great food, polite attentive staff. Myself and a friend shared a number of dishes and all were great. Some staple indian restaurant dishes but also lots of dishes I'd never heard of before, all very tasty. Highly recommend!

Lunchtime menu 2 courses (starter, main and a side) for £9.99. A good choice and flavours were excellent. Clean and modern interior. We were the only customers but staff were friendly and service was good. Will return.

Great indian food with some personal twists. The restaurant itself gives a great atmosphere and the staff are polite and friendly. Can be a little slow when really busy, but worth the wait!

Nice decor, quick service plenty choice on menu. Starter portion far too big though. Struggled with main course.
Not a lot of heat in the curry sadly. Overall good value for money

Came to know about this place about a month back and have been visiting them since every single week :). Genuine Indian food which is very rare to find in this part of the country.

Unpleasant environment, hot air from machine was blowing directly on to our faces which upset my little one, so we need to leave taking food away. Food was good though.

Never a bad curry, always hits the spot and the service never tires either. Menu has interesting dishes that give some variation to the standard curry house fare.
