This is a lovely restaurant (with rooms) set in a very pretty village - typically Cotswold, if that's what you like.

We have eaten dinner and lunch here regularly over the years and have always enjoyed it. It was run by a lovely couple (May and Tim - hence the name) for many years, but was sold reasonably recently to a young man who has revamped it - and he has done a very good job.

Food and drink are very good, as is the service. The Gin menu is absolutely superb! Ensure that you have a good look at it online before you go and have a list of ones you want to try as there are a huge number.

The garden/terrace is beautiful, and extremely peaceful. It overlooks fields, and cows regularly wander past.

We will be re-visiting again very soon.

Would highly recommend.

One of my best meal in england yet :D
Came today 21/07/2013, had a roast beef stripe and this meal was simply amazing.
Meat was full of flavors, very nice sauce, not drowning the meat. Cauliflowers with a nice cheese sauce \\u003c3 carrots/parsnip nicely roasted.
The only 'bad' part was the potatoes, wasn't a big fan of it but still ate it.

Had a bread and custard dessert and this was to die for. Definitly going back and looking forward to wedding meal there in september :D

Place does look great and neat, big size parking. Staff is friendly and available with a nice frenchman :D

Thank you.

Stayed for an overnight a fortnight ago. This place is a cut above. So impressed. Welcoming staff, extremely comfortable bed, quiet and cosy rooms. Take a walk around the 'village' and the church - beautiful part of England. Fantastic dinner of Asian fish soup. Had a great Bloody Mary too. I had a cold when I was there and barman made me the perfect hot toddy to take to bed. Breakfast was equally impressive. Even though I only stayed for an overnight - and had a stinking cold - I felt like I'd had a proper break. Real VFM. Go there. You won't regret it.

We waited a long time between getting our drinks and ordering the food. We had to ask for someone to take our order. My husband had the wild boar beefburger which tasted of spices not meat. My son-in-law had the best meal of fish and chips. My daughter and l had the fish sharing platter, while being well presented , did not impress us on taste. The price was reasonable. Inside was charming and the outside was spacious and a lovely setting to enjoy a drink. We will not go back.

Are post wedding mini moon break, we loved the staff, the location, the quality of the food was just fantastic, we hope to come back every year hopefully. We have sadly found out recently that the maytime is no longer dog friendly. We'd hoped to bring our little daschund with us, but sadly it's not permitted anymore so it looks as though our stays at the maytime might be numbered, which is sad because we love the place.

Had dinner with my family there and the food was great. I had the lamb with risotto which was perfectly cooked. The young lady serving us was great, attentive and polite. The young man was attentive, although a tad brusque at times. The garden out back is perfect for a pre/post dinner drink, with stunning views of the countryside, while the interior is simply but very tastefully and carefully decorated. Would go back again

We had the most delightful meal at The Maytime on 07.10.17. Everyone both front of house and in the kitchens made this possible with delicious food, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend the trio of apple dessert on the autumn menu - I've not tasted anything like it before! Thank you all for a great birthday meal.

We visited the restaurant on a quiet Monday in April. The food was very very good, the wine selection excellent and the atmosphere quite cosy. It’s a shame weather didn’t play ball as the garden at the back looking out onto the hills is really inviting. Would definitely recommend. Quaint village with nice walks nearby along the river.

One of the finest Restaurants with Rooms we have stayed at and we have stayed at many. Wonderful menu and quality of food, staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are well appointed. The best breakfast selection we have ever seen, with very generous portions. The Maytime is a blue print for others to follow. EXCELLENT!!

Fantastic pub with rooms, great location, good food and best of all an extensive Gin menu.
Stayed for 3 nights in April and felt welcome and looked after the whole time I can't recommend it enough.
Based on the edge of the stunning cotswolds with access to all the walks and loverly towns & villages.

Stayed at the Maytime overnight and had a meal in the restuarant. Nothing was too much for the staff, any problems were sorted quickly. The bed was extremely comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious. Will be returning at some point, hopefully soon.

Lovely little find. Very hospitable. Some lovely beers. Had a ploughman’s lunch. Dropped a star. Wasn’t bad but for the price needs a full pork pie and a big slab of cheddar. Friend had fish and chips. Looked lovely. Recommended. Beautiful setting.

Really lovely and well maintained pub with a charming atmosphere and decor. Unfortunately meals were over seasoned (particularly over peppered) and service was slow, having to wait over twenty minutes for ordered deserts to be brought to the table

Been coming to this place for 23 years and never once have I been dissatisfied. Having go through many changes in that time, the Maytime constantly builds on its countryside charm & delicious food and drink (at very reasonable prices too!)

Fantastic location and really liked the gin menu, unfortunately our food didn't live up to the first impressions. I had fish and chips and the fish was overlooked, my wife was not impressed with her steak pie and cold vegetables

I have had a few meals here and service is friendly and helpful, food is very very good and if l lived nearby l would enjoy taking my family there that is how good it is and l would tell people and this pace

Lovely garden. Good, friendly service. Food is about par for a gastropub. Strange risotto used different rice and less stock/wine? Apart from that conundrum, burger was above average and desserts nice too.

Beautiful room, beautiful food. Staff were really friendly and a great gin selection, what more could you ask for?! A really lovely stay, booked last minute for us but we'll definately return.

Amazing little local pub, amazing selection of beers and ciders. Lovely food with plenty of choice. WiFi if you have to. Good quick service. Lovely staff and a big carpark with plenty of room.

We had a lovely meal here at the start of May. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Too full for dessert, but we will be returning again to try them!

Went for a Christmas meal here. With a couple of attendees with particular dietary needs. And a dog. The food was delicious and the venue very pleasant.

Only stopped in for a pint and a mince pie, but the pub has a great atmosphere and good selection of local ales as well as an extensive gin menu

What a great place, tucked away in the tiny village, the widest range of gins I have ever seen in an inn. Great food too!
