Has nice views outside but inside was really dirty, don't look at the lamp shades they are covered in a thick inch of dust that looks like fur growing off it. Was really bad service rushing customers and being rude. Toilets were disgusting had legit fecal matter in the toilets and the other was blocked. Don't people know how to you toilets? Most of the people were probably university credit claimers with no brain cells, apart from that crumby place I had a good day by the lake and sight seeing, just miss the Inn and the universal credit claimers inside.

Very poor customer service experience when looking for lunch. Bar staff member was busy having a loud conversation with his friend and ignored me for some time. Greeted me with 'Yep?' and complained when I ordered coffee (not frequently requested, apparently). Proceeded to overfill the cups, handed them to me covered in hot coffee and then absently dumped a cloth in front of me to clean the cups up while he continued his conversation.
We left without ordering food and will not be returning.
Interior seemed a pretty generic, chain-pub affair.

Absolutely stunning refurbishment of this old favourite. We had my birthday meal here on Saturday - there were 6 adults and 3 kids and the food was magnificent, ale was fabulous and service was fantastic. Huge thumbs up to your lovely staff for looking after us all so well. The kids loved their meals and the colouring in too. Would highly recommend to all. What a delightful place. Beautiful log fire keeping us toasty and then a wander to the edge of the beer garden to gaze at the lake. Thank you. So very much.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of March. The room was fab and it had a lake view! The breakfast was well worth it, there was quite a lot of choice too. We also ate our evening meals there. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The refurbishment is amazing and still in keeping with the original look. Overall we had a lovely stay here and have booked to go back again in April! Can't fault it.

The room was fantastic, the best we have ever stayed in anywhere! It was clean, spacious and had a great view of Lake Windermere. The food is good, not very adeventurous but well cooked and the lakeland breakfast was SO good, you didn't need another meal until dinner. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
If you want to take your dog on holiday I can't recommend this place highly enough, they make dogs really welcome. We will definitely return.

A very popular hostalry on the lakeside at Ambleside. Great views of Windermere fron the large garden which has copious tables to enjoy a drink or food. Out of all the places we tried in Ambleside & Bowness this was the priciest but worth it for the views down the lake. Only had a drink here but the food was going down well. Typical pub grub. They did not sell 'probably the best lager in the world' but 'probably the dearest'.

Came here a few weeks ago. Needed something to eat and to avoid the rain. I'm so glad we choose here. The food was lovely and so was the drink selection. The interior was very tasteful and modern and it felt very cosy even though it's a big space. The gin selection is great. I thought the prices were reasonable and the staff were lovely, kind and accommodating. I would definitely recommend and come back if in the area again.

Hotel ok, room we had in annex large clean with a excellent view BUT, the food in the evening was terrible. I sent back a hot pot which was described as cooked in red wine with root veg.. It had see neither and like most of the menu was probably pre- packed and microwaved. The wine was all overpriced. Spoilt our stay and still awaiting a apology, which I don`t think I will get.

Weather lousy but this super cosy hotel made the trip up the M6 worth it. Fantastic location, lovely room and very friendly staff. Great views of the lake from the bar and a decent menu mean you can linger if the rain prevents further exploration. The whole place is clean and nicely decorated with a good mix of traditional and modern. We shall definitely be back!

Disappointing Birthday Meal.
We feel that the food came out far too quickly to be freshly prepared, although it did taste ok the fish pie that my wife had, was only lukewarm and the peas were hard. I had fish and chips, the fish was tasteless and the batter was very soggy in places.
However the location was excellent and the views were stunning.

Just returned from a 4 day stay, the staff were so helpfull and friendly without being pushy. The room had a beautiful view of the lake. Loved the seperate lounge and diningroom for guests with dogs. My dog lovely the biscuits that were given him at breakfast. Would recomend to everyone I know. The only down side was that the dinner menu was pricey.

Stayed for one night just before Christmas, the room was a little small but the price was right. Enjoyed it so much booked the Windermere Room for the New Year, was a little bit more expensive but worth it, had a fantastic time. Rooms are very nice, staff very polite and helpful. Food is brilliant. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Wateredge Inn.

Came here for a few drinks on to have on the waters edge, good selection of drinks and it was a really warm and sunny day so a fantastic location to relax. They have seating for drinks only in one side and food and drinks on another so generally there's lots of space. When we were there though the queue at the bar did get reasonably long.

Just eaten at this location at 4pm nice pub good selection of ale. Limited menu so ordered fish and chips, from ordering it took less than 5 minutes to arrive. Bland tasting ale battered fish. Don't bother go to the Wainright in the Langdales better food and even cheaper ale and better menu. Sorry but won't visit again

Been here for evening drinks a couple of times now. We sat next to much needed open fire on the first occasion, and sat in the lakeside garden the second watching the sun go down.

The interior is a bit modern compared to the building it's in, but in general very nice. Good quality lager on offer as well!

This place has a good atmosphere and a good selection of ales however the food was very disappointing. I ordered an 8oz Angus steak burger and what I got was an overcooked quarter pounder that resembled something out of the frozen section of a supermarket. It also tasted like it was cooked in a microwave.

I am reviewing the pub, not the accommodation. I have only had drinks, not food here. Nice pub, tastefully refurbished with views of the lake. Very friendly I would say to family holidaymakers, but not at all tacky or overrun by toddlers. It sells real beer excellently served. For me, a solid choice.

Great location at the edge of lake Windermere closest to Ambleside as the name suggests giving great views accross the lake to hills beyond, Very modern but clean tidy and welcoming. Slightly over priced compared to other local pubs/restaurants. Good selection of beers/lagers, spirits and wines.

Hugely expensive! It's okay, food is okay, service can be slow at times, but when you paying the high prices, you should expect more! If you fancy a quick drink with a view then go for it, but I'd eat elsewhere where you can get better value for your money.

Great location and they even manage to get food out on time when it's really busy. The beef nachos and the glazed pork sandwich with fries and gravy was very good. The kids chicken strips with fries and peas also got the thumbs up from my 12 year old.

Very good lakeside pub restaurant. Food was very nice, looking forward to going back to try more of the menu. Dogs allowed in some parts of the bar where you can also order food. Loads of outside seating with great views of the lake. Car park.

It's a fantastic setting just on the water and good place to sit out for drinks. We went for food and it was hit and miss. To be fair the kids meals went down really well. Adult meals felt overpriced and weren't great quality.

Great location. We always stop here when arriving in the Lakes for our holiday. Beer garden is perfect place to have a drink and enjoy the views across the lake. Sometimes a bit of a wait at the bar otherwise it would be 5 stars

Been on a few occasions when visiting the lakes and we are always overwhelmed by the friendly staff, excellent menu choice and lovely views over the lake.

Would highly recommend and ideal for families.

We went for vegetarian food and some drinks. We were happy with the food we had, the staff were really friendly and it was brilliant that we could take our dog in and have a proper dog seating section. Thanks!

A picturesque area to have casual drinks. Decent prices with a quaint peaceful atmosphere. The queue was quite long to get served but this was mainly due to understaffing on a hot summers Bank Holiday weekend.

The location of the pub is excellent as it's name suggests. The have a good range of ales at the bar and food menu good too. Plenty of tables outside although at busy times it is a bit hectic with kids.

Very good position in the edge of the Lake at Ambleside. Good good at breakfast and dinner with good views across the Lake. Friendly staff and easy parking made out stay excellent and we will return.

Right on the shores of Lake Windermere at Ambleside, this pub offers some fantastic views of the lake. Haven't tried the food (I do plan to) Meanwhile I can report the beer's great.
