We had a lovely break at Nutfield Priory. It was a birthday surprise from my wife so I don't know the cost but knowing her she got a good deal! She mentioned that it was a special occasion whilst booking and when we were shown up to our room there was a handwritten card from the manager and a little present of a small box of chocolate - a really sweet personal touch! The hotel is a magnificent country house on the outskirts of Redhill with gorgeous far-reaching views. The staff were all brilliant - very polite and helpful. The room, although maybe a bit dated, was large, clean and well appointed. It is the first time that we have stayed anywhere that the bed is turned-down in the evening (as well as restocking the coffee capsules for the excellent coffee maker and providing more milk and little biscuits!) - we were most surprised to find this when we returned from a meal out and were a bit ashamed at leaning the room in a bit of a mess. The spa is in a more modern building behind the hotel. It's well equipped will a gym, squash court, sauna, swimming pool, steam room and jacuzzi. Again it was very clean and the staff very friendly. We did find the jacuzzi was a little hot for prolonged usage but maybe that's a good thing - we didn't have to wait long to get in there! The breakfast was brilliant The usual choice of continental materials is available but the cooked option was lovely. Definitely not your usual fare - my wife's eggs Benedict with salmon looked beautifully done whilst my traditional English was obviously made with care. It was a lovely meal with attentive staff overlooking the fabulous view. I would certainly recommend a stay there - especially if you manage to get a good deal on the price. As far as I'm aware it is usually quite expensive!

We stayed in a junior suite with no garden view but I would suggest to get garden view as it's really worth it. The rooms are nicely decorated and a very good size, with comfy armchairs and super king beds with mattress and pillows to die for! The breakfast is absolutely excellent, (for exception of the cappuccino) offering great quality selections in abundance. The Sunday lunch menu is fairly priced, perfectly cooked, served professionally but also in a friendly manner. However, you must book ahead if you wish to have dinner, lunch or the afternoon tea experience in the weekend as it gets very busy. All members of staff went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The building is kept in great conditions and offers exceptional views and character in each of its rooms. The hall is superb as well as the dinning area and the library. The only disappointing thing is that the spa is in another building which is a public small gym, so it was not as quiet and relaxing as hoped. The swimming pool is also small and rather shallow, yet we enjoyed it anyway and took part to the aqua class at 5.15pm on Saturday (avoid this time if you are in search of piece and quiet). We would definitely recommend this hotel and return soon for another weekend stay. We have since become members of the handpicked club and look forward to visiting other properties of this chain.

Spent my birthday at the Spa this Sunday and have to say, what a disappointment. The place is in a serious need of an update, with paint peeling from ceilings and walls. Carpets very worn, mold smell in corridors. Pool area isn't clean, same goes for the changing rooms. Too much chlorine in a water made my eyes tear, and the smell is just too heavy to be in there, so i spent all day in the garden. Thank God it was a beautiful sunny day, otherwise there would be nothing to do whilst waiting for the treatment. My massage was average, although another lady did a massage for my husband which he said was very good. The food was ok, staff was friendly, nice complimentary tea and coffee through the day. At the end of the day, when i got back to my locker, i found it open, and my wallet was taken out of my bag and money missing. Such a ''great'' birthday gift to be robbed. It says a lot about the place by the public that goes there. There is nothing luxurious about the place, i would say it is no more than a budget Spa. Small pool with the deepest end being only 1,2 meters, Jacuzzi that fits only 4-5 people, small sauna and steam room and a small back garden outside. That's all. And if you compare photos and how it looks in reality its like a day and night. I would never go back, not my cup of tea..

I have been a member of the gym and spa for nearly ten years, ever since I moved here. By far the best place in the area, even for people visiting the hotel or for a spa weekend. The hotel and its grounds are just amazing and a tranquil place to forget about the world for a few days.

The classes at the spa & gym are open to members and guests, as many as you like and completely for FREE! So if you wish to get your endorphins up to really enjoy your break, they don’t come any better, especially Nadir’s classes, if you can get in!

Can’t recommend this place high enough, if you are looking for a gym that you can fully enjoy, forget about the cheap soulless places in Town, being a member here gives you so much more than some place with gym equipment. And if like me, you can’t work out without a reward at the end, nothing better than a steam room to sweat out the last of a hard day, or slip in to the hot tub to let those aches and pains bubble away...

Appalling experience here. After an e-mail conversion with the GM, I posted a review to tripadvisor containing all the details of our disastrous stay. The GM then responded to this review stating that they were still waiting for 'response to my queries to the issues you have highlighted' via e-mail - they weren't, I answered all their questions via email and then never received a response. I then forwarded my previous e-mail to them containing answers to their questions and didn't receive a reply. Sneaky attempt at casting doubt on my legitimate review. To highlight some of the issues:

- Booked for dinner at 9.15pm without being informed or asked when we'd like to eat, despite booking a week in advance.
- Coffee machine broken in room
- No hot water in room
- Toilet didn't flush properly
- Issues bought up with DM and told we'd be contacted, we weren't.

Very nice place overall, where to begin. Very nice roomservice, they have many sitting groups and a very calm and landly environment even though its so close to london city. Very nice view of the woods and alternatively the outskirts of London. The staff where very service oriented. There is also a handicap toilet located close to the reception. They offer alot of services like very nice breakfast with hot food prepared by the chef's, an example would be sandviches with bacon and eggs (which were excellent in my opinion). A bar is of course needed and their's fulfilled all criterias. The rooms where very classy and felt complete offering tv, minibar, roomservice with food, very clean toilets and both a shower and a bathtub. In the bar they had calm sitting groups offering you silent workplaces (if your on a buisness trip). Overall a solid 5 star, will definetly book there on my next trip to london.

If I could give zero start, I would just for the restaurant.
We were originally told our 7.30pm dinner booking was moved to 7.15pm due to full reservations. When we went down, it was actually 7.30pm.
We sat down, checked menu, ordered wine and food. Our starter came out quite slow (tables seated after us were already having theirs).
Food is delicious but not outstanding.
After finishing starter, we had to try grab waiters numerous times to ask wine/clear tables/where our main courses are.
After numbers of attempts, our main course finally arrived at 9.30pm - 2 hrs since we seated!
Worst thing was none of the staff explained to us what’s going on or why there’s huge delay. They seems they didn’t bother. Table of 6 sat down 30mins later than us were already on their dessert!
It is not acceptable for the price we paid to stay and dine. They ruined our weekend away.

I treated my Mum to our first spa day for her 60th birthday. I treated my Mum for her 60th birthday. We had a lovely day and the treatments were great. The only down side was the lady giving me a massage kept falling asleep on me! Every now and then she would snore and jurk herself awake! The treatment then ended 15 minutes earlier than it should have. Looking back on it I should have said something at the time but I felt embarrassed.

After spending that amount on a spa day I definitely would expect better. My mum had a different lady and she loved it.

I would still recommend Nutfield Priory, it really was lovely. I wouldn't let one member of staff taint everyone else that works hard there.

A personal view... Whilst beautiful in places, overall I was disappointed with my first experience of Nutfield Priory. We attended for afternoon tea and I felt we had a mixed service from staff e.g. forgetting a glass of water, one pot of tea between two so we had to ask for hot water sooner rather than later. However, I was well looked after when I arrived and did not know where to go. I would expect this really for the hype.

We took a short walk after tea. The grounds were restricted, with no views and not befitting a place that stands itself out from the rest in the local area.

I'm not sure I'd go back.

relaxing weekend at the hotel went to cloisters restaurant the food was excellent although the steak was slightly over cooked than what I asked for. the menu if you didn't want the fixed one was limited because there was no steak on there apart from the one which we chose chateau briand but you can't cook that different for each person which is what we wanted. spa was fantastic and massages but went outside to relax in the sun which was quite noisy with all the helicopters flying over going to Redhill airport. for an old priory building the rooms were very warm and the staff have been excellent

Fabulous! Hen party weekend for daughter - stayed with 6 girls - celebrations package - food great, atmosphere brilliant, staff exceptional! Spa lovely and relaxing - the only thing we could fault was a slightly undercooked steak for the bride to be. Fabulously cheerful guy in the spa cafe, great therapist James and our waiter for the evening Jack was absolutely superb! We all felt thoroughly spoilt and revived - nothing was too much trouble. Would DEFINITELY stay again - rooms were all lovely!
Thank you so much for a special weekend! :-)

Cosy little place. Breakfast on the first day (Friday) was lovely! However on Saturday there was some more people... The breakfast sleection became limited and they seemes to just bring in an unholy amount of 'barely cooked' bacon and sauages.

Spa was lovely, area was lovely and bar staff and bar food was brilliant. As was the evening meals in their restaurant. Drink prices would be what you'd expect for a semi-london Hotel.

10 min walk from a weatherspoons for lunch (cheap & cheerful).

My wife and I stayed here for one of her birthday presents. The reception staff were fantastic and extremely helpful! We enjoyed the spa and swimming pool area. The library was great fun and provided board games alongside drinks! Room service was great however the food is basic and could do with a few more options. Fantastic views and a gorgeous hotel! The staff in every department were outstanding and I will be recommending to everyone for atleast an overnight stay getaway!

The Nutfield is part of HandPicked hotels. I have stayed in many hotels in various countries, and I can not rate this group or this hotel higher. It's stunning location and views down to the heritage of the hotel itself are fantastic. The staff are always great and the food and facility's are superb. The rooms take you to another world with both the design and the feeling of complete space. The ceilings are so high the room is brilliant. It's pure class

Amazing place. We stayed there for a business meeting and we were delighted by the place and especially the service. The location is beautiful and the view from the rooms is inspiring. We used one of the meeting rooms and I was very impressed with the treat, care and attention given by Martin, the bar manager who was looking after us on the day. He was kind, attentive and always with a beautiful smile. I must definitely come back.

Amazing facial - very relaxing. The facilities are pleasant, clean and generally well maintained. Not 5 stars as it had a slight health club feel rather than the more relaxing spa feel I was hoping for, and whilst tasty, some aspects of the afternoon tea had a 'made earlier' feel. Not stale but heading that way. However my friend and I enjoyed ourselves and would return, but only if they have a deal on.

We got married here and absolutely loved the service and everything they did for us. However the spa attached to the hotel is a sub par experience.

* Spa ran out of robes when it was time for our massages
* We were served OJ that had gone off and told that's what it's like....?? Lumpy & fizzy isn't how I'd describe orange juice that can be consumed!!

Incredible location, views and spacious rooms... Horrendous service in the restaurant including the chef and paper thin bedroom walls; be prepared for Fawlty Towers style service and being able to hear you bedroom neighbours private conversation and sexual fantasy.... In 20 years of travel through EMEA in hundreds of hotels this place has the thinnest walls.

We stayed here for an overnight dinner, bed and breakfast break. From start to finish the whole experience was top notch. The hotel itself is a very impressive building, the staff are friendly, engaging, helpful and polite. The food was like stepping into a high class restaurant! A very enjoyable stay with a nice spa attached.

Absolutely beautiful. Clean newly styled rooms in a restored historical setting. Imagine the opulence that the family originally experienced when living here in the early 1900's!! It's all still here to enjoy and savor. Well worth the experience and the staff is over the top in helpfulness and graciousness.

Very welcoming and were shown round the spa facilities upon arrival. Very friendly, accommodating staff. A variety of drinks & snacks available. Afternoon tea was delicious; not enough jam for the scones but more wss provided upon asking. Treatment rooms very nice and clean and a very nice atmosphere overall.

I just love the feel of this hotel. It's gothic and romantic but still very comfortable . Grand open spaces. Service and staff are pretty good. Very polite. The spa is lovely and the range of treatments at reasonable prices considering the high quality. We had a very enjoyable stay and would go back again .

We got married here in june 2017 had an amazing day went back today 8 months later was made to feel as welcome as the day we got married and the staff recognised us the staff have always seemed to go the extra mile not just for us but towards anyone we have seen there very welcoming and professional

The hotel looks incredible but the building housing the spa is an eyesore. The spa itself is clean enough but starting to show its age. The noises from the pump room in the main area of the spa made relaxation a challenge but overall it was a pleasant experience. Good size car park.

It is a very nice castle hotel. I was in a suite, which was big, nicely decorated. The bed was comfy, the dinner was delicious and the staff was helpful, friendly and professional. It's a bit expensive, but you need to pay for quality. So at the end it's worth it.

I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding. My daughter was married there this week, the planning and execution of the event was perfect. The staff were all courteous and extremely helpful and always on hand with assistance. The setting is idyllic

Only visited spa not hotel. Very nice, good treatments, packages and food. Only slight problem was not enough loungers around the pool. Bring your gym gear, the classes look great. Staff very helpful. Bit warm in the restaurant but fine otherwise.

Very good service - everyone was very helpful. Bit strange that our table decoration at dinner was a dead flower, so although really helpful attention to detail could have been better. Fortunately that gave my wife and I something to talk about

4 by Anil Sharma Review source

Very very disappointed with the service here, to the point that we left before even being shown to a table. It seemed that it was too inconvenient for the staff to even acknowledge us. We left and celebrated our wedding anniversary elsewhere
