I purchased a two night stay, in a Deluxe room, with bed breakfast and evening meal at The Frogmill as a Birthday Present for my Husband.
On arrival the Hotel is Beautiful, rustic and charming, once we found the reception, no signage, we were booked in by a 'pleasant' but not friendly receptionist who showed us to Room 11, not Deluxe, in our opinion. This room was small but nicely furnished unfortunately the two bedside lights and the light above the wash basin, in the bathroom, didn't work. The housekeeper changed the bedside lamps, very promptly and explained that someone else would come to fix the bathroom light. When we returned 3 hours later this hadn't been sorted, no problem we had plenty of time, but unfortunately there was a very bad smell coming up through the sink, bath or toilet and we had to be moved to room 10, again no Deluxe, room 10 is even smaller and the on suite is impossible to get around, also the water in the shower doesn't flow away so you stand in a shallow puddle whilst showering. However not wanting to make a fuss, very British, we head down for our evening meal, which is amazing, the service is friendly, efficient and the food is delicious, The poor chef in the restaurant is let down by a 2nd rate Hotel that needs a good looking at, by its management.

There are no feedback form, in fact no information about anything at all, Breakfast need to be investigated the buffet table is a bit lacking, no fruit, very little choice, but lovely cooked breakfast again all down to an excellent chef.

What could have been a wonderful experience turned into a bit of a disappointment

The booking in process was particularly stressful, taking over an hour to get a room (having booked a month in advance) and worrying that I wouldn't have anywhere to stay for the two nights I had booked. There is no vegetarian option on the restaurant or bar menu and had to make a special request when half of the group were veggies. The pasta was under-cooked and un-enjoyable. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable, clean and had good facilities. Not very sound proof and could hear adjoining rooms and woken by them. Breakfast was hit and miss. The fruit salad was lovely, but waitress failed to get the toast orders right, poached eggs inedible with toast not buttered and eggs cooked in so much vinegar, you couldn't taste anything else. The staff were very friendly however no one available for check out at 8.15am, which I didn't feel was an unreasonable time. I would stay here again as the rates were good and I did like the room, but I wouldn't eat here. Disappointingly at no stage during dinner, breakfast or booking out did anyone ask if I was happy so that I could let them know.

Really disappointed, the only reason we went was because of the name, the reputation. When we arrived the hotel looked great, but serious mould and limescale in the bathroom and mould round the windows in the bed room............. Service in the dinning room was very slow, we never got to see a wine list, partly dead flowers on the table swimming in green water and then the food, indifferent at best. Duck so dry and overcooked that there was more bone showing than meat and so it went on. Breakfast was no better............ I had expected attention to detail, but it was sadly lacking.

The hotel itself is very nice and cosy. Rooms are very spacious although the en suite bathroom was very small. There is no wifi in the rooms and no cable tv. Apart from that, it is pretty standard and comfortable. Do not expect luxury, but it's very good value for money (60 £ a night, breakfast included). Food in the reaturant is very nice. A big plus is Location since you can visit lovely cotswolds villages nearby in less than 20 min drive. Overall I do recommend if you're looking a place to stay for a peaceful getaway in the Cotswolds!

I was slightly disappointed with this place. the hotel is beautiful from the outside, but dated and run down inside.
The restaurant is nothing special, average food in a confused looking setting. Oriental in looks but a French menu. Very dated looking place. Not to say I had a bad experience. As the food was nice. But I wouldn't go back any time soon.
