After reading reviews on booking. Com booked here direct. I live local and always wanted to visit, given the opportunity as I had family visiting and short of space. I was disappointed. It's a lovely spot, staff nice and ate fish and chips in the restaurant which was nice, but the room was a let down. Tiny bed, only pull down blinds on windows so light shining through all night. Very noisy bathroom so had to go to the toilet in the dark so as not to wake up partner. Cold tap on sink loose, toilet roll holder loose, toilet seat loose, mould and cracked tiles around bath tub. Doors and stairs very noisy with doors banging all night. The worst was went to make a hot drink in the morning and the kettle was caked in limescale so bad that although I rinsed and rinsed it the water was still cloudy, I called at reception for another and was given one that was nearly as bad. Breakfast was acceptable. I would not recommend or go here again. Such a shame

Don't get me wrong the food was ok however, the service was shocking. Me and my partner thought we would try somewhere different (wish we didnt). Walked in and asked for a table for two, the barman told us to look for Sandy she will seat you (who's Sandy), she then walked up to us and asked 'table for two' before walking off. This was not to seat us it was to serve people. She then sat us down and said she would be back to take our drinks order, 20 minutes later she came back and took our order then another 10 before the drinks were poured. Me and my partner saw our drinks sat on the bar, obviously at the point I was annoyed and walked upto the bar and took the drinks. No apology nothing.
The bar area nor the restaurant was busy. Needless to say we will NOT be going back!!!!

It's a lovely place where staff are very polite and friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very nice. The menu was reasonably priced with a good choice without being too extensive. Breakfast was nice in the morning but I do prefer baked beans with my cooked breakfast. I didn't ask for any though so they might have done me some, I don't know. The room was clean and fresh. There was a black out blind at the window without any curtains so it let in quite a lot of light round the edges into the room. There is WiFi available throughout the hotel and restaurant which was easy to connect to. Overall a great stay. Would definitely recommend.

The Shard Riverside is an Excellent hotel with very polite, friendly and helpful staff. The team here go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect.

Breakfast here is usually included with your booking and is very good, served by a friendly catering team in the on-site restaurant, which looks out across the river.

The hotel's bar offers a wide range of drinks and has a good atmosphere without being too busy or loud.

Part of the hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard, with rooms being warm and modern.

A great stay - would certainly recommend.

Only discovered this hotel by chance as we were looking for a last minute break to Blackpool to experience the illuminations.
So glad we did as what a lovely hotel, we booked the family room overnight which was more than adequate to accomadate 2 adults & 2 children, very clean & furnished to a high standard, bar & restaurant were of the same, staff were pleasent & helpful, nice breakfast to see us off for our return journey home and finally what a beautiful location

we would recommend this hotel to others and will certainly be using it again when we visit blackpool in the future

My wife and I stayed one night [thankfully], I would not have stayed longer. The room was clean, bed poor, bathroom has a birdbath size washbasin, that has a steel plug with a 2cm upright. If you catch it slightly with your hand while shaving etc, WATER GONE! The SHOWER, difficult to adjust to a SAFE bearable temperature. The shower head would not stay in position in the wall attachment, I had to have a shower [Statue Of Liberty style]. Breakfast ok just.We stayed in a supposedly DE-LUXE ROOM, I`m glad it was not a STANDARD room.

Stayed Friday night.Beautiful location. Staff very friendly and helpful .Room just a bit small
but clean. Breakfast good and hot. Big issue, WHY do hotels have domestic hot water set at SCALDING temp? a very hot sticker just by the tap just ain't good enough Surely the group engineer
can manage to reset it so you can safely rinse your hands ? It is really a health and safety issue.
Otherwise an enjoyable stay. for a couple. for a couple of coffin dodgers.
Cheers, George Huntbach

Service was poor, we preordered our meals and they couldn't get them right. Brought starters out in dribs and drabs not all at once. One member of the parties chicken was off so got a new one made which took around 20 mins and everyone else had finished theirs by time the new one came back. The good point was the rice pudding which was really good. Apart from that i left feeling very disappointed especially for the type of establishment and the prices of food. I will not return as been put off now.

Clean and tidy, with picturesque views and friendly staff.
Unfortunately our evening meal was rather disappointing and over priced, as were the drinks.
The traditional breakfast is small and served without beans.
Our room was too warm due to the heating being on, and with the window open the road noise is unbearable.
This could be an excellent hotel. But for me, the two main criterias are good food and a good sleep, however I was left disappointed in both of these areas.

The place its self is very well presented and for that it can not be faulted. The staff were also very friendly.
We had a riverside room although very spacious was extremely bland and coreporate.
The main let down for us though was extremely over priced drinks, now we are no hillbillys that dont get out much we live and work in the city so are used to paying higher prices but these topped that and for us no justification.

Rooms were a little dated, but sufficient. Another member of our party had no sockets next to the bed - however ours did. Bathroom was the most dated part of the room, sadly the radiator was on full blast and due to the April heatwave insufferable. Breakfast was nice, good quality food - but not as generous on the quantity side as other chains. Ok for a stop over, and if you're not poking for cutting edge rooms.

Just had the most appalling experience at this place. Mother's Day meal for 7. Waited almost an hour between starters and mains....except one main never showed at all! Manager offered to take £47 off the bill....but charged me for the meal that never came. Worst service I've ever experienced in 50 odd years of eating out. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

After a cycle ride I had to stop to get some breakfast, so I pulled into the Car Park got out my camping stove and made a fry up.

The hotel looked nice from the outside and is situated right on the riverside, I sat and watched the tide come in. I would suggest you keep your eye on any children by the waters edge as it comes in really fast.

Lovely staff - very friendly, helpful, and accomoding. The room was nice, clean and large. The shower was great. Check-in / out times are a bit earlier than most places, and breakfast was shorter. Breakfast was ok. Good quality, but low quantity. The buffet section was a bit small, and the bowls were oddly shallow for cereal.

Really nice rooms, great food, lovely staff. Whilst clean and the shower was a good shower, the bathroom was dated and some hand soap would have been appreciated along with the quality shampoo and body wash that was provided. Over all great experience and would have been 5 stars of the bathroom was modernised.

Had to cancel due to a blood clot in my leg and staying in hospital, Management very understanding didn't charge me but I WILL rebook. Called in for a lunchtime drink on outdoor patio, really great , service and atmosphere. Beautiful setting. Can't wait to rebook. Easy to find, give it a try.

We went to the restaurant for Sunday lunch( you'll need to book in advance) and it was absolutely excellent. The service was quick, with no interruptions . The food was great, very good portion and excellent quality. Good parking and excellent viewing along the estuary, top marks.

Fantastic place on a sunny afternoon to visit for a Pint & a Bite to Eat, Great Views especially at sunset. Superb menu, very professionally prepared and served food. Loved the seafood platter topped off with one of the best Sticky Toffee Puddings I have eaten for a long time.

Nice visit and location. We (10 people) were quite late in for lunch so it was relatively empty but the waiting staff were very attentive. Our food was a while but still quite tasty, however I can't comment too much as I'm not the biggest fan of fish and chips.

Fantastic nights stay. All staff very polite and helpful. We stopped in family room which was plenty big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Views across the river stunning. Breakfast in the morning superb. Will definitely stop here again next time we're in the area.

Visited on a lovely sunny evening. Lovely setting & inside clean & tidy. My food was nice but my partner who had a different meal didn't enjoy his said it was bland & tasteless. Desserts faired better. Would return & try again..

We've stayed here on three occasions now and have found this to be a really lovely hotel with comfortable rooms. It is immaculately clean and the breakfast served in the morning has always been a wonderful addition to our stay!

Nice comfortable rooms, nice river view. Accommodating staff even brought breakfast to the room after breakfast time was done. The only downside is that it was quite warm for part of our stay and the is no air conditioning or fans.

Beautiful setting- table outside over looking the river, but terrible service - no waiter service outside even though everyone was dining outside! No tab, so had to pay for every round of drinks and every course. Not good enough!!

Expensive place. Was told by the barman that the beer we ordered was £7 and should probably order something else. Don’t know whether he was trying to help or felt we couldn’t afford it. Not very busy, felt a little looked down on.

Great meal and good service but as a party of 7 people who all wanted coffee after our meal, to be told the coffee machine wasn't working, not even offered instant or any alternative was a poor show for a restaurant/ hotel.

Great position overlooking the river. Bar and restaurant are excellent with a good choice of food and drink. Rooms are a good size but could be better with a refresh. Overall, a lovely place to stay in a great location.

Shard riverside Inn was very good, people very friendly and both breakfast and dinner were excellent
My only issue in room 15 was the bed mattees it needs a new one, could feel the springs, ended up not sleeping

Great place, almost empty but staff brilliant and down to earth. Just had a drink with friends. Been before for a meal and they are delicious. Freshly prepared and locally sourced. Beautiful views over River Wyre

What a disgusting reception , after being told to ring back 3 times tonight when we tried to book a room . We were told the receptionist went home at 5:30 not what you expect from a supposedly good hotel
