The Windmill Cinema is a real small enterprise success story. Its success is down to a great deal of hard work by the proprietors AND a huge amount of community support and volunteers. The proprietors invested in a digital projector and sound system so a program of new film releases can be shown as well as occasional live streamed theatre and opera. The seats are reasonably priced and are comfortable. The auditorium is raked so unless you are sitting behind a giant, all seat views are good. I'd have given it 5 stars but the kiosk only sells sweet popcorn instead of salted!

Cheap tickets, by the beach and in close proximity to the town centre. I'd rather go local and make my way to the windmill instead of traveling to cineworld or the picturedome 9 times out of ten. Friendly older staff, cheapish (compared to big cinema branches) confectionery and a cosy medium sized screen room.

My only gripe is with the seats, personally i found them to be rather uncomfortable after 30 minutes but that might just be me.

Other then that, great little cinema handily placed for those who dont need to see films in 3D or imax.

Great little cinema 5 minutes from my house. Staffed by very pleasant volunteers. Excellent opportunity to see live ballet, opera and plays without having to travel to London. All the current films are shown at convenienter times and return later in the month so, if you miss something the first time round you can catch it later.

Good cinema, comfy seats and decently priced. However it’s sometimes months before the film you want to see comes here and then it only shows once or twice a day for less than a week! Sometimes only one showing!! This cinema need another screen and more staff so they can show more films in a day.

The cinema was far busier than expected for an 8:30pm showing with a queue stretching out the door due to it being quite small inside. We were concerned that all tickets were sold out but staff were very helpful at finding us two tickets together. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Comfortable seats. Pleasant staff. Only criticism not enough toilets. A great community facility. Reasonable prices. For a small cinema a wide range of films available. I didn't give 5 stars cause nothing is perfect.

Lovely community theatre/cinema with a wide choice or current films available to view. Good screen and sound system. Always helpful and polite staff, who are volunteers, therefore are giving up their time for free!

It is now several years on from a famous march to save our cinema. We have a wonderful, well run local amenity which operates as a cooperative venture of local authority, operating company and local volunteers.

Great little cosy cinema staffed mainly by retired folk who volunteer to keep the cinema going. No fancy surround sound or 3D just good old cinema screening movies, opera, ballet, theatre and concerts.

Great local theatre and cinema with comfy seats and a really good range of performances. Not always easy to get through on the phone but leave a message and they're good at calling back.

A small friendly locally run cinema. If they are showing the film you want, why pay more and go further? It's comfy, up to date and there's no temptation to eat hot dogs or nachos!

This Is a small screen cinema. Showed a good selection of children's films throughout the holidays at £4 a ticket. As with all cinemas the snacks and drinks are over priced.

Watched Star Wars: Rogue One. All 5 staff we interacted with were brilliant, polite, and helpful. Screen looked good, and sound was spot on. Will be back.

Considering what you pay to watch a movie here, this is lovely little cinema. Really enjoyed my recent visit here. Comfortable seats and fantastic sound.

Great cinema, seating is very comfortable. Viewing times and variety of films can be a bit hit and miss, but otherwise a reasonably affordable cinema.

Lovely small cinema but the sound is always so loud. Nearly deafened when the films start. My friend takes ear plugs when we go to see a film!!!

A real gem of a British seaside theatre. This must be supported to survive. Well done to all those involved in keeping it alive.

An amateur performance of Oklahoma. I thought it was excellent. But then, I was playing in the pit band.
