A few paths closed off as part of a re-generation plan, but still lots of paths available to explore and watch the wildlife. Wouldn't recommend shorts as my legs were bitten several times!

Nice place to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Dogs aren't allowed on the site due to the wildlife which wasn't as issue for me but some might be a bit disappointed.

Woodwalton Fen National Nature Reserve is the Great Fen project - with plans to return the site back from farmland to its original Fen habitat

From the Google Map photos you can already see the changes - but full habitat change will take many years

Large and clearly well-regarded, just from seeing the well-equipped photographers there. We spoke to two who'd come from Leighton Buzzard early that mornin, must be 60 miles away.

The most wonderful place in the world. I've seen kingfishers, tansy beetles, deer, lizards, and so much else,, and it's a marvellous place for dragonflies and butterflies.

Lovely spot for a walk, never usually that many people there. Has several bird hides where you can get some great views of Marsh Harriers, among other species.

A lovely place for a stroll, it's a little out of the way and parking isn't great, but it does have some good hides to view the wildlife

Perfect in every sense of the word. A place to lose your mind and free your soul. Strictly no dogs!! Autumn to spring is magical.

Beautiful area of unspoilt Fenland countryside. Great for walking and bird and animal watching. (Note: no dogs allowed.)

Looked very nice but as we had Ben the beagle in tow and dogs are not allowed, we didn't see a great deal of it.

A scarce piece of fenland habitat full of rare species. A real treat to walk round here.
