Right next to the train station, easy to find (anything more out of the station, right). This is also a negative because it is not at all well soundproofed and hear passing trains at all hours, including at night.

We stayed three people in a triple room with shared bath. normal beds, dressers, and heating. He had wardrobe, a mini desk, mirror and locker for use with own lock. Access to a small private terrace. Cleanliness acceptable.

Have no bathroom in the room was somewhat uncomfortable, especially having to go out at night. We caught him right in front. small bathroom: a toilet and a shower stall, narrow and short. No tepid water to shower, just a trickle, even though the temperature thereof was controlled and so nice. The showers are almost impossible.

The hostel has a kitchen, which we did not use; reading room, apparently not very big, a living room with billiards, and dining area. The dining room is spacious and serves both to eat your own food to taste q offer at the hostel. This open 24h.

For nearly £ 6 per person we included breakfast. It was English breakfast with pastries, toast and cereal. From pastries, toast, cereal and drinks you could repeat. Eggs, bacon, sausage, etc., only served once. The food was not very hot. acceptable quality.

The hostel has a very early checkout time, 10am. Then you can leave your luggage in a room can leave them in lockers paying a few pounds (like in some train stations) or simply in the room, I watched this video. We leave them in the room, no more, no problem.

I decided, foolishly, to cycle down the Oxford canal from Nuneaton on a day off and was looking for cheap accommodation for a couple of nights to recover. Never having stopped in a hostel before, I had no idea what to expect (except maybe bunk beds and sweaty hikers). Apart from the bunk beds and this, very sweaty, cyclist the accommodation was indistinguishable from a decent hotel. I arrived looking like the creature from the black lagoon's slightly less pleasant cousin and was given a warm welcome by the lovely receptionist, there was a secure hut to store my bike and, most importantly, a lovely hot shower in my private bedroom to crawl into. As I've said, apart from the lack of a television and minibar, I could've been stopping in a city centre hotel. I can't recommend YHA enough, I'll certainly be stopping at another one the next time I have another stupid idea.

Amazing staff and friendly. Location is great it's close to the centre and the shopping mall. Wi-Fi not so good, sadly did not work very well in the room (they use _cloud services.) Room I ended up in was a triple bunk bed, which given the cost was good but I was expecting a double as per photos. Great for people who want to crash even on the night, can meet some other students and lodgers of all ages. Must need to bring your own hygiene materials such as soaps, towels, shampos etc, they sell small things for j believe not worth while prices sadly... bedroom itself was great, beds were adequate size, sadly not for my partner who stayed in female dorms as all lower bunks were preoccupied. Umm also the bed blankets used are too short, they are the right size for someone who's 5'1 Lol! Otherwise your feet will stick out at one end or the other. Rooms fairly warm.

Bad experience in this hotel as on arrival the lady who was in charge of the reception seemed unwilling to do his job, and did not help us at all, the same woman who the next day we ignored when we asked for anything like WiFi or billiards room. In addition, the cleaning lady came in while we were in the room and unashamedly began to do their job. Fortunately, other hotel workers were ordered to fix a problem with the shower since the first day I had to shower with cold water, and treated much better. full breakfast, but it not included. As for the rooms, they are quite tatty, with uncomfortable bunk beds and tiny pillows, windows did not close well, etc ...
I give a low score as this is its value, so if I were you I would look for another alternative.

Very expensive for what it is. dilapidated and tiny, with a bathroom with a lousy shower rooms. The mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable. Maybe, breakfast (without being neither a panacea), and above all, a very friendly Brazilian cook.
At the reception there also nice people, however, all this what Gladys tarnishes the presence of an easygoing woman who ignored us and tried to help us at any time and only became concerned that pre-menopausal our stay.
I do not know if there will be better options in Oxford but certainly not return to YHA Oxford

The hostel was incredibly comfortable on entrance and was much nicer than any hostel I've been to in England. The room was especially spacious and comfortable with lots of luggage storage. I was in a ensuite room (113) sharing with one other person and it was very relaxed. The WiFi unfortunately didn't reach the room, however it was comfortable, warm and clean. My only other hang up was that it was quite difficult to enter and exit the shower as the door is quite close to the actual cubicle.
Overall a nice stay with great and helpful employees

I stayed here back in November 2013 and it was not the best hostel I stayed at and was a little disappointed that they didn't provide towels when booking a private room, I didn't pick the hostel for anything more than a place to sleep the night. The room was also quite cold and I ended up getting sick after staying here which wasn't helped by the temperature of the room.

Also a little expensive compared to other hostels I've stayed at and next time I'll probably just opt for a cheap hotel room and have a nicer stay.

Good value for what it is. Friendly staff were helpful, we were able to leave our luggage while we explored the town and borrow a game to play in the evening. It's right near the station and the stop for Seacourt park and ride is nearby so very convenient for the town centre. The room was a little tired and could have been a bit fresher but overall ok, beds were fairly comfy. Breakfast is really good value and the shared areas seemed nice, a couple of lounge rooms and a large dining area. We enjoyed our stay.

Great location, very clean and the heater in our private room kept it plenty warm. Train noise from the nearby station woke us up a couple of times, but it was fine. Apparently both hot water heaters had failed the day before we arrived, which we were promptly notified of upon check in and offered 25% off our booking - good on them for being upfront and generous about it! They had a backup water heater going by the morning though so we did get a short hot shower anyway. Would certainly stay here again.

Clean, basic and good price accommodation around Oxford. Hotel location was close to all amenities in town. Only things that I don't like which they don't have lift imagine you have more then one luggage. You pay what you stay which we can't have much expectation.

Overall consider a good hotel with great price. Is really up to your personal preference. Highly recommend to all solo traveler and this may be the good option for your visit to Oxford.

The YHA was clean and spacious. The staff were all really nice and helpful. The downstairs has a cafe which is a great spot to hang out and have a bite to eat or a drink. The hostel isn't that social, which worked for me this trip, but if you are traveling solo you might not make many friends here. It's easy walking to Oxford university and the city, next door to the train station (double windows mean you don't hear them though), and really yummy food nearby.

It's a hostel, so it's not luxurious, but it's clean, comfortable and good value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There's a bar and restaurant (with meals to satisfy hungry travellers), and good self-catering facilities. Note that there is no lift inside the building. The location is very close to the train station and bus stops, and a 5-10mins walk into the heart of the city. We'd very happily stay here again.

Lovely, clean and I was lucky to have very quiet roommates!! Very close to city center and the train station is literally arround the corner, friendly staff . A good place for backpacks!
(The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because you have to check-in at 2pm, and leave the room at 10am, so you don't have 24h, like you would have in some other places, and WiFi only on ground floor, not in the rooms)

Situated in a nice location - not too far from the local park and rides, whilst being close enough to the city centre. Plenty of rooms to manage in peak periods. A lovely little garden with plenty of seating. Shame about backing onto the train station with regards to noise. Light sleepers might struggle with the trains, but it was never an issue for me. Friendly staff, and good food

The room was very clean and up to dss morning door slam in the hallway and very badly soundproofed rooms door was very quiet.
The bathroom was clean and not very stuffy without window.
The kitchen was well stocked and very clean.
When traveling alone backpacker missing here but unfortunately the connection to other people, which is produced in other hostels easier.

Nice YHA with spacious rooms, good self catering kitchens, a good restaurant and cafe bar, and a games room/lounge with TV and a pool table. All conveniently located about 5 minutes from the edge of the city centre and about 1 minute from the train station. Plenty of convenience stores nearby, along with a Dominoes pizza, so great for stocking up ready for the day ahead exploring.

It's a really lovely place to stay, but unfortunately had a downfall of there being no lift, which was a little bit of a pain as had a pushchair, luggage and a 19 month old toddler to get to the second floor of where my room was. However, a member of staff frim receptiin was always there to lend me a helping hand with my belongings up and down the stairs if and when needed.

Stayed there for once a week for 4 months and most of the time had good nights sleep. Almost always found the rooms clean and the staff were always helpful. Used there kitchen most of the time which is fairly equipped. The only downside is the adjacent station. If one is a light sleeper, he might have some trouble sleeping; specially in rooms on that side.

Room was filthy and the extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working so the walls were permanently running with condensation, even with the windows open. The room smelt of damp, probably due to the amount of black mould on walls, ceiling and window frames. However, the bed linen was clean and the staff were friendly and amenable.

Usual jerks entering the room at 3am screaming and turning the lights on. Next morning I told the staff at the reception area that they should do something about it and they said that they were not able to do anything, nor in the future. That kind of pissed me off. With that attitude they can only get one star and and a bad review.

Great hostel. Polite/helpful staff, ideal location, very clean facilities. A pound more expensive than the dodgy looking place down the road but not regretting my choice - lots of things they usually charge you for (lockers, luggage storage) are free and the rooms are excellent with plenty of space and powerpoints on the beds :)

Big mistake to have not read all the reviews in details. A dorm-like hostel for backpackers definitely not for family. Room is hot in July with barely air flow not mentioning AC. Next to train station therefore noise is expected. Not necessarily cheap 159 pounds a night. The car parking is 1 mile away. The staff are nice though.

Good location! You can reach the city center in a few minutes! The food is worthy of improvement, there is little choice and is not very varied. The beds are narrow and sometimes too short. The toilets are clean but a bit tight. Overall, a suitable youth hostel for excursions and city confirmation.

Didn't stay here but spent a couple of hours at the cafe on the ground floor. Needed to get on with some work and the spacious cafe area (with free WiFi was very welcome). Staff were nice. More plugs around the seating area would be nice, but certainly isn't a major problem. Nice place.

Nice hostel in a good location. It was tidy, the beds were comfy. A little noisy at night because of student groups. Laundry room which was good though did come with a charge and the drier didn't dry too well. Laid back atmosphere, helpful staff. A room for luggage storage too.

Not the best, niether the worst... Breakfast was good as well as dinner, but our room had a bit of mold in one of the walls which made it smell a bit weird... Nevertheless, if you are traveling on a budget, I don't think there is nothing better for this price in Oxford.

The hostel is ideally located, next to the train station and close to the city center. The facilities are really good and staff is helpful. The lockers to store your valuables are a bit pricey and it can be a little noisy late night / early morning because of the trains.

Booked a private room for 5 of us in bunkbeds and it was great, a good location being near to the train station and easy to find. Clean, tidy and had a plug with two USB charging options next to each bed. Would definitely go back again if I wanted to stay over in Oxford.

The hostel was very nice, very friendly staff, the kitchen the living room and dining room in perfect condition, very clean and very complete. Rooms good, comfortable beds, clean room. The only but the shower, with a derisory amount of water which complicates the task.

Was in itself good, there were unfortunately a few details that were a bit inadequate, for example, the too small showers or the problem with the air.

Food was really good, vegetables were always almost perfect. Of course, English food is not for everyone.
