First :The hotel offers car park spaces outside at a small cost per day. Get one.

The reception was warm and the staff were efficient.

Saw 4 rooms and they were all large. The shower and bath facilities are brilliant. The bath filled in 1min 12 seconds. You'll be hard pushed to find more pressure. Don't leave it.
The rooms on 3rd floor come with 2 baths and 2 showers.

All beds are at least super king and the mattress is superb. You sink in and then it is firm.

The bar is well stocked with champagne and wine. Wines from all over the world and I sense there is pride in taking about them. A few more smiles from the staff would be welcome. There is a good selection of ales to craft beer including non alcoholic. Great cocktail selection and carefully made resulting in consistent drinks. Well done.

The restaurant was bright with attentive staff. The menu caters for most including wheat allergy. The steak served and fish ate excellent.

The couches in the lounge area need replaced. They are well used and worn. The arms are showing wood.

Regardless had a cracking time relaxing in this centrally located hotel.

One of the worst meals I have ever had in Harrogate. Very Disappointing.

Roast Hot Shells - price £60 - was actually deep fried - no oven involved.
Deep fried crab arrived - Unopened and no utensils to open it. Waiter then took it away, on my plate, and returned it 20 minutes later.
Waiter didn't listen to the fact I didn't want dressing on any of the salad - ok, this might be a bit petty - both salads arrived covered in dressing.
The starters were good but the main meal was poor at best.

I don't understand the latest approach to meals in restaurants these days. They all seem to cover everything in oil - be it olive or some other kind.
Jamie Oliver has a lot to answer to for make chefs believe this is the way food should be presented.

Very disappointing. Fiasco in the dining room - waited an hour for food, got the wrong wine twice, dirty glass, very poor quality and overcooked food. The staff realised their mistakes and didn't charge for part of the meal. Our room was located beneath the dining room so constant noise til midnight then from 6am. Reception staff were very defensive and were not interested in our complaints - they had obviously heard it before, then had the cheek to say 'see you again' - I think not! We were charged nearly £200 for very little food and a disturbed night. What a shame as we had high hopes after a great weekend break in Hotel du Vin in Edinburgh a couple of years ago.

Strange hotel, probably a bit too fancy for me...
None of the rooms have numbers, just names, which were in a fancy font that was difficult to read. (I had a staff member show me to my room & I counted the number of doors it was away from the stairs) there were 3 steps along the accessible route from the lift to my room.
I had a nespresso in my room, which was good... and they’d swapped out my Little milks on the tea tray with Soya because I’d flagged I was lactose intolerant for my Brekkie.
Breakfast was nice. Staff were friendly, but not imposing. Bar staff were quite tolerant of our banter, and very knowledgeable about their Gin!

Good faire! I was there on 31/10/14 by myself for an early evening meal. I had the 2 courses and a glass of wine option for a reasonable price. The Toulouse sausage and salad...followed by the sticky toffee pudding. The food was ok , as were the staff.
The restaurant was very a nice place to go if you want to get away from the 'hustle and bustle' of life. I use the bar when passing the odd time, and it looks to me like the restaurant gets busy late in the evening.
I have been here on a Saturday night with my dinner club and it does tend to be 'buzzing' then. Definitely a place to go with friends

We stayed at the hotel last week. We were in a basement room directly below the bar, which made for quite a lot of noise. Our biggest complaint was the horrid odor in the room. It smelled of mildew, but also something sour on top of that. The hotel staff said they would bring a machine in to remove/reduce the odor but that didn't happen. The smell was so strong we had to leave the door open whenever we were there and awake.

On the plus side, the location can't be beat and the rooms are spacious. However, I don't think I would stay there again.

Attended as a group for a hen party. Initial welcome was good, with prosecco and canapes. Cocktail making class slightly disappointing - initially we were expected to make and drink a cocktail between two, before extra glasses were provided. The mixologist didn't seem very experienced and disappeared before the end of the class. Food served in a private room was very good and came quickly. Unfortunately the music system provided was not up to scratch so we couldn't hear any music. (I attended as a guest, the party was organised by someone else)

This is like four-and-a-half stars. I love the Hotel du Vin chain and this is a nice one. For us they're good stops on journeys where you need a place to get some food and maybe a drink and relax a bit. You know the experience will deliver. The missing half star is because the food isn't always quite the level of French-influenced fine dining you might expect for a place with this kind of style. Having said that, it's also not that expensive and there are often deals to be had, for example for Sunday night stays.

Booked to stay on 10th year anniversory... to be told hours before checking in that they had a problem with 1 of our rooms. The hotel relocated us at a different hotel which we wernt happy with at all. They did however offer us a complementry breakfast back to there hotel ( i did have to complain alot to get it mind ) this involved a 10 min hitch hike & was SUCH a big inconvenience of having to go back and forth from each hotel.
This inconvenience completely ruined our stay!

Lovely hotel, situated perfectly for a trip to Harrogate right in the centre. Pay for the Parking - it's worth it. The brasserie itself is decent and as good as anything else in Harrogate. A short stroll to the monpellier area of Harrogate Betty's tea rooms etc... and close by for the shopping and dining options.
We had a beautiful suite with a large balcony separate sitting room and the signature roll top bath in the room! Fantastic and will be back regularly

I only stayed for one night, arriving and leaving in darkness, so my experience is limited. The bed was really comfortable, the shower took five minutes to get hot in the morning, and the manager waived the (rather extortionate) cost of a packet of crisps I'd snacked on before bed. It was only a little thing, but it's the kind of little thing that speaks volumes about the attitude of an establishment, and has bumped this review up from 4 to 5 stars.

The room was lovely with large comfy bed and great shower and bath. Dinner was no better than ok. Breakfast was good. Staff were polity but not as interested as they should be, rather 'going through the motions', not showing genuine interest. We were overcharged until we questioned the bill. It was a good value special offer but not encouraging enough to want to return at their normal prices.

Beautiful hotel, bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere and style. Food at the bistro was very tasty, especially enjoyed the mussel starter. Room was a presented well, but unfortunately was uncomfortably warm and unable to cool (may have been an attempt to combat the freezing temperatures at the time). Location was convenient, close to both parking and Harrogate center. Overall we enjoyed our visit

Had a lovely overnight stay. The room was gorgeous and quite luxurious and the bath was enormous! They left us a lovely note and some sweets after we mentioned it was my husbands birthday. It's very centrally located for Harrogate town centre, everything is a 5 min walk from the hotel. The parking outside the hotel is very handy, but also quite a tight squeeze!

Lovely large well appointed rooms, food great and the staff literally couldn't be more helpful - we stayed in July for the Great Yorkshire Show and it was very warm , my wife is pregnant and feeling the heat lol one quick call to reception and a powerful fan was provided ensuring a cool peaceful nights sleep.
Thanks guys, we'll see you next year!

The service really lets this place down and has done so for years. The building and decor was once interesting and well styled. It still is, to an extent, but could do with a face lift. Food is expensive and very average. There are much better restaurants in Harrogate. It's better as a bar but don't expect a reasonably priced bar tab.

Everything you'd expect from a Hotel du Vin, and a bit more. Able to park literally outside the front door, which is always a big plus. Excellently situated for a weekends site-seeing, with our favourite Betty's Tea Room only a five minute stroll away, in a straight line. Lovely double room and friendly staff to top it all off.

Dined at Hotel du Vin for Christmas dinner, the food was amazing but unfortunately the bar let it down and the service at the bar was slow and limited soft drinks were available, untill asking twice when we expressed our disappointment when we sat down for our meal, we finally got what we had asked for the first time.

We had our Christmas lunch here, the food was fantastic, seriously brilliant (at a price!). However, the bar seemed poorly stocked a number of cocktails were unavailable and the choice of soft drinks was almost non existent for the younger guests. Would return, as I suspect a Christmas rush had caught them off guard.

Had a fantastic time at the hotel - room, food and service were all excellent. Stayed in Pol Roger the night after our wedding and it felt really special, especially with the huge couples shower! Our favourite part was the evening meal, a fine dining experience with big portions will definitely leave you satisfied.

Lovely place with large rooms and great decor. Just a shame it took 15 mins to check out as they only had one person working and apparently just dropping the key off want an option. For a hotel that positions itself as luxury, this type of service needs to be improved -queuing to leave is not a good look.

Contrary to some of the reviews we had read, we were very impressed both with the quality of food and the personalized service and attention to detail. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening here and would return. Special thanks to Steven the Bistro manager who went out of his way to make us feel welcome.

Over the years, the experience has lost much of it's special shine and also, and what was once a very unique place, with a real flair for fantastic food and wine has now become quite mundane. In need of some passion, and focus to bring it back up to where the price and marketing positions it.

Nice quiet bar for a chat but coffee served not hot enough and when told, the waiter wasn't apologetic but a little arrogant. For the price they charge, I had expected good quality and good customer service. Instead, I found the place disappointing.

Great cental location and parking outside hotel. Staff friendly. Hotel in need of a bit of TLC - toilets dirty and courtyard a bit tired. Room was a good size and bed comfy. Wardrobe door did not shut properly and shower had some mould.

Cleanliness is a foreign word, everything is very aged and dirty. Toilets scream after cleaning lady and possible renovation. So everything took some getting used to. The only thing was great '' Afternoon tea ''!

Attractive rooms, lovely position in Harrogate, great breakfast.
A map with the room names (named after vineyards) would aid orientation!
Bistro food was disappointing, some old fashioned and odd salads.

Lovely hotel with very professional staff and good quality facilities. Some rooms afflicted by noise although this is clearly detailed in the room information on the website so check before booking.

Great room, lovely style and very comfortable.
Loved the slipper style bath, great for a soak.
Enjoyed a couple of steak dinners in the restaurant, and cannot fault it at all.
