Friendly service from the bar man, plenty of choice beers, ordered the Pulled pork sliders, the arrived looking very tasty, and they were too. Three good sized sliders, loads of delicious pork with a nice crunchy red cabbage coleslaw. My Partner had the Chicken club sandwich which she rated, two large chicken breasts in the sarnie, they don;t skimp on the meat here! Had some potato wedges too with rosemary and garlic which were good but had rather too much salt on for my liking, I would have preferred to have seasoned them myself, but this is a small criticism for good food, and service in a very pleasant restaurant.

If you fancy a posh beer with lovely surroundings this is the place to go. Close to the Theatre, so a nice place to entertain your guest Pre or Post Performance The bar is owned by Buxton Brewery, so there are many rare hand crafted ales made in it's local brewery. The staff are well selected and know and love the beers. A good wine selection too. The regular costumers are charming and with this massive selection of wonderful ales: you can see why. They do food which is served in a relaxed way in a timely manor. Worth a visit

Fantastic night. Took the farther in-law as though it would be a bit of a change. He had a great time, as did the rest of us. Some wonderful and interesting beers. Some of which can be hard to get hold of. Something to suit most tastes. Even for your designated driver. The food is wonderful. I recommend the beef brisket. Probably to share, there's a lot. Spent many a happy hour drinking good beer, eating good food and enjoying each others company in a lovely setting just off the park. Ideal place to people watch.

Cosy, and great beer and food. They wouldn't take a booking for 4 people but assured us there would be seating at the time we arrived, sadly there wasn't, after a while we managed to squeeze into a tiny table and did eat.
Irritating if you are watching a show at the theatre.
If you're a group of 4/5 my advice would be to book for 6 which is their minimum to gaurentee a table.

Otherwise I really like this place

Fresh Buxton beers straight from the nearby brewery, what could be better?! Also have soft serve on a couple of taps, plus growlers and bottle shop available. Doesn't have that much of a 'tap room' feel compared to other breweries; lots of people drinking wine and G&TS, as well as bottled lager. Nice atmosphere though, and I wish I could have spent many more hours here.
Food menu was there but I didn't eat.

Outstanding range of Buxton beers (draft and keg), plus many bottled Belgium options and wines. Food is really tasty and well priced (£7 - £9). Staff were very knowledgeable on the beers, and they sell bottles to go at a discount. Some outdoor seating plus lots of indoor, bright and comfortable seats and sofa. Newspapers available, various interesting teas and coffees.
Children welcome.
A very special little place.

There was a fantastic range of beers. It was great to be able to buy in a range of sizes to allow you to try a range. I had 3 and they were all outstanding.
We also ate here, having sliders and a Brisket burger. The food was excellent, although my husband was still a bit peckish after his sliders. The menu is fairly short but full of interest.
We will definitely return the next time we are in Buxton.

Great little bar, one of the guys who worked for them was in there having a drink and saw me (a non beer drinker) struggling with the huge choice and picked one for me and my boyfriend after telling him what we liked. So helpful and I'll have to go back to get the lemon meringue ice! I didn't have food but we definitely had food envy when looking at other people's meals!

Generally okay but the fact they charged us £9.95 for one bottle of beer and didn't warn us when we ordered it that it was more than twice the price of our other drinks, bumping the final bill by a tenner. When I queried it they weren't apologetic and didn't have anything to say. Crafty and deceitful I felt. Would go back but price check everything before I order it.

This was a great find when visiting Buxton, the food is expensive but the drink choice and quality was fantastic. The atmosphere was always friendly and buzzing but you could struggle for a seat. the staff were really knowledgable about the drinks and happy to help or give tasters. Over the weekend we came here twice to drink and would certainly go back.

Great selection of beer and gins and tonics - know my husband loves their beer and I was happy to have a selection of gins to try over our 3 visits in 3 days. Husband found staff varied in their enthusiasm for beer a little. We ate here one night of our three visits and enjoyed our burgers.

Working at Buxton Opera House last week, and visited the Tap House several times. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. We had a birthday in the company. On a busy Friday evening, (great live music), the hospitality extended to us was superb, and gratefully received! Highly recommended.

We've stayed in Buxton a couple of times in recent years and this is our go to pub of choice. The garden is perfect in the sunshine and the beer selection isn't bad either. Good comfort food menu with a tasty mac 'n' cheese and veggie burger.

Beers can be too cold out the taps to let the malts and hops shine as they should..that said tastey is the order of the day. Had burgers here also and they were awesome.
If the beers were served a tad warmer for the ales the review acore would be higher.

Superb selection of beers or all kinds, served by friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent food too and big portions. If you're exploring the Peaks, the Palace Hotel across the road and the Buxton Taphouse are a perfect combo. Recommended

Excellent food, very tasty and large portions. Service was friendly and quick and the bar has a great atmosphere. I will definitely return if I visit buxton again (we're only here 3 days and it's our second visit already!)

The Tap House offers a really wide range of ales, both on tap and bottled including local brews. The food is well worth trying too. It's above and beyond the standard I expect in a pub: imaginative and tasty.

A great range of beers, many on keg that are not available elsewhere (that I'm aware of). Only reason I'm giving 4 stars was because it took over an hour for some food to come that we had ordered.

I never imagined I could be impressed by a plate of nachos, but my word the pulled pork nachos are superb, I lack the descriptive language to adequately describe them, you must go and try them yourself

Good selection of really interesting beers including Buxton's own outstanding products. Great food too if you're able to get a table! Very busy over a sunny weekend but well worth a visit.

Amazing food, amazing beer and they welcome dogs with open arms! Couldn't ask for much more really. Prices for food and drink are really reasonable too given the quality you get from both

Nice friendly atmosphere. Was made to feel very welcome. Plenty of tasty beers and ales on tap and in bottles. Recomend the local Buxton beer. Small choice of food but tasty non the less.

If you like quirky craft ales then visit the tap house. Some amazing collaborations on offer here. The food is also on point and the staff are very friendly and full of beer knowledge.

Very modern hip pub with local beers, great atmosphere, it's a shame we didn't get to try their food - kitchen closes at 9 pm, but really enjoyed having a drink there.

If you love your beer tasting this is the place, plus great food and a friendly atmosphere - kids and dogs also made to feel very welcome - recommend the Pecan Ice Cream Stout

Excellent pub, very fine selection of beers and food also tasty with generous portions. Good range of beers to take away in bottle and they'll fill your growler too.

Great selection of locally brewed beers and more. Food is also good offering a solid choice of bar meals. Can get very busy at peak times so get there early for a seat.

Absolute must if you are in the area, especially if you are a fan of craft beer. The food is also great, but this place is all about the beer. Great friendly staff too!

Very nice burgers with quality ingredients. Service was a little slow but nothing to complain about. Good place if you're looking for burgers, sandwiches, salads.
