I visited was the Gin bar as part of a hen party. Its lovely area with plenty of seats with a decent amount of space between them. The gin and cocktail menu is varied and reasonably priced for the city center at around £7.50 per cocktail. Ordering one however was where the experience started to go down hill. Despite the fact I was clearly waiting to be served, the barmen served several people who came to the bar after I did. In the end I returned to my seat without buying a drink. Once the table was ready, it was a short walk to the area where afternoon tea was served. The waiting staff were very helpful, checking for an allergies and going out of their way to accommodate some of the party members preferences. Drinks were quickly served but there was a bit of a delay before the food came out. When the food did arrive, it didn't disappoint. The cheese and chutney sandwiches were lovely and tangy and the desserts a perfect end to the meal.

Attended a family wedding at the venue and included an overnight stay there. On initial impression, a new modern hotel. The room was a good size, but badly stocked - the mini-bar and snacks we were told could not be filled. The hotel messed up the dressing of the room for the wedding, did not deliver the wedding breakfast as sampled & described. This upset the bride immensely, as this was one of the main reasons for picking the venue. When the food came out the special requests were incorrect, for example the vegetarian selections were not brought out and had to be changed on request. Our room was dirty there was a layer of dust on the main table. Breakfast was a shambles, massive queues and only one person to seat people. Elements of breakfast buffet either cold or unavailable. Disappointing for the price and reputation of this chain.

insufficiently staff to cope with the residents needs, particularly during breakfast. majority of the staff were all lovely and helpful but either they run on a shoestring or were short staffed not sure which. had to complain about numerous things which they endeavoured to fix. Very annoyed with one pervy older gym member of the leisure club who got my 3 yo kicked out of the pool after 15 mins had promised all wend I'd take him swimming without realising the tight restrictions on children swimming only wanted to have him in for 30mins. no one else was bothered but he got us kicked out and thrn left himself 5 mins later highly disappointed with the children in the pool times/rules which apply to all guests at all times only one hr window in the am and pm 9-10 and 3-4 very disappointing. hope he was pleased with himself

My wife and I spent our 10th wedding anniversary there this weekend after a long hard 2 years due to family bereavments. this was also our first night out in 2 years and our first experience of Newcastle.

The only let downs were our room had a small window and the only view was a building site (room 140) and the spa was closed for maintenance today so we could not enjoy the full benefits of our booking.
Otherwise I would have gave 5 stars as the staff were brilliant giving us help with our plans and really friendly. the room and hotel were really nice. Clean and welcoming.

Just a pity about the let downs on such an important weekend for us took the shine of it a little bit.

The hotel is elegant, modern and stylish, just behind central station. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, nice decor, very clean. Good sleep quality for silence and comfortable bed, only I had big troubles with the pillows -way too thick for me.
The breakfast at the adjoining restaurant was good and there was plenty of choice. Soy/almond milk would be a nice touch for lactose intolerant people.
There is an adjoining bar that looked very cozy and stylish, and also a fitness room and a pool/spa, but I didn't try them.
I would have given it five stars if it weren't for some issues with check in and check out, but the staff was always friendly despite the problems.

Very nice breakfast buffet! Nice that you can take some muffins with you as well. The room size was perfect, more space than I needed really. The bedsheets were horrific and made me a bit itchy, they felt a bit like cardboard but I guess they'd been pressed. It's a shame they didn't tell me about the pool & spa when checking in after they asked if I'd been there before. If I'd known I would've made use of it!!! Aircon/heater remained cold even when turning the temperature up. Room was very cold but heated up once I was under the sheets. Toilets need looking at because they keep flushing water through..wastes a lot of water.

Check in was abit of a faff, the computers were down and I was asked to wait until later on to check in. Once the receptionist realised Im on a business trip and had booked through a large company I was checked in swiftly after. I don't see why this should make a difference but it did. Gym and pool are pretty small but both are clean and modern. The rooms are nice, but have a very tempting snack and mini bar, the prices are steep, to be expected. Overall a nice hotel, would I pay to stay here with my own money? I'm not sure on that one.

Stayed here on Saturday night. after we had been out we came back and went to bed. We heard our door trying to be opened I opened the door and a member of there staff was stood outside been very aggressive shouting at us he then asked us to leave the hotel this was 3 in the morning it was a blizzard outside we didn’t do anything wrong. Absolutely shocking service will never stay here again they also stole £50 for a tab that we never used when I asked for it back he said no and just laughed disgusting

Oh Dear after a really good start it went slowly down hill. Booked this for leisure facilities only to be informed on the next morning pool out of order even though we had asked various questions about facilities upon arrival. Apparently pool had been out of order even prior to booking in
Feel That it's a fantastic hotel receptionist are inexperienced. waist of a very precious weekend. Still awaiting voucher as promised.

What a wonderful stay I had at the hotel this weekend. The disabled room is the best I have ever stayed in. The staff were fantastic and did everything they could to make my stay comfortable. I was visiting Newcastle for a family wedding in the hotel and the function room and bar was very impressive.I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Newcastle, particularly if you have any sort of special need.
Thanks again guys!

I'm here at my works Xmas do.
Well an hour after the starter came we got our main meals arrived. I chose the veggie option with was missing part of the meal I complained to a waiter who said he would get the manager. The manager turned up had a chat with the waiter and then walked away.
Fabulous service NOT!
Still waiting for desserts. Just not good enough for the price we pay for our meal. Will not return.

Once you realize where the parking is, underneath the hotel, it makes far more sense and Crowne Plaza is a very useful hotel.
I haven't stayed, but I've been to a number of events and dinners. The high ceiling makes events a bit special and not too noisy, and there are foyers for refreshments and multiple ways into / out of the main room which is good for seminars and breakout workshops.
Food is good too.

Easy walking distance to the train station and centre of town. Large, clean room and a big bathroom with a nice, powerful shower separate from the bath. Staff were helpful and friendly. Bar stayed open until 2am and was cosy with a wide range of drinks on offer. Restaurant looked lovely too, although we didn't get a chance to check it out. I'd definitely stay again if I ever needed another overnight in Newcastle.

This is a beautiful hotel that is well laid out and is in excellent location in the centre of town. I have stayed him many times and the service is always exceptional the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are beautiful the restaurant is very nice and the separate bar has a great atmosphere. I stayed in a few hotels in Newcastle and this is absolutely the best of the Bunch in my opinion

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. When they found out that it was our anniversary, they upgraded our room, and left a slate with 'anniversary' written in white chocolate, surrounded by handmade sweet treats - a really lovely touch! The room was very stylish and comfortable, and the service was excellent - all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Really nice, modern fresh hotel. The executive rooms are really nice, and have a great view from the balcony.

The executive room comes with access to the executive lounge. You get free snacks + soft drinks/coffee.

Between 5.30pm and 7.30pm they serve complimentary alcoholic drinks.

You can also have your breakfast there, rather than mixing with the riffraff

My daughter treated us to a spa afternoon at the Crowne Plaza Newcastle. We enjoyed the use of the pool and sauna etc. before having some wonderful treatments in the spa, followed by a beautiful afternoon tea in the restaurant. It was absolutely lovely! Thank you to our therapists Gabby and Nichola and Treva in the restaurant for a very special afternoon! Would definitely go again.

Great location just behind Newcastle Central. The rooms (I got the queen room) are really spacious with a modern decor. Love the little touches like the take-away aromatherapy kit, mineral water bottles etc. The rooms are well equipped with a mini bar, ironing board and iron, bath robe with slippers etc. They also do a room service with a limited menu. The bar stays open quite late.

Nice centrally located hotel on the edge of the town centre and quays, well a pointed and stylish. Restaurant serves good food well presented. Bar has good selection of spit it's and cocktails, beers sadly limited though. Rooms well appointed but noise from station very slightly intrudes.
Nothing about the hotel is not good but it doesn't quite achieve great.

Been here a few times. Gin not good despite describing the bar as a gin bar. Tried 6 and none of the suggested combinations were nice. Food not good and definitely not worth the price tag. Could've bounced the cake off the wall and sandwiches (in picture) came out like that. Spa treatments nice, but again, not worth the expense. There are nicer places for cheaper.

First week great. Second week my 'king superior bed' was just two single beds pushed together! As I'm only skinny I really felt the gap. When I approached reception about this, I was treated like it was inconsequential, however the room service man was a real gent and got me moved. However they would only get me a double room. Was a needless hassle

Rooms were of a large size, very comfortable and plenty of features. I made use of the gym while I was there and wasn't very impressed with it, very under equipped and small but it made do.

Only other service I had was the breakfast which was delicious and great value for money. Would rate the stay 10/10 and would happily return!

Lovely modern hotel want there for afternoon tea for my birthday had drinks in the gin bar before tea then had afternoon tea then back into the gin bar which was fairly busy after 6o clock. The whole time we were there was really enjoyable ever member of staff was really friendly and interactive with their customers would certainly go back

Enjoyed a fantastic day in the spa where i thoroughly enjoyed my massage which was expertly done. We then had afternoon tea as part of the package, the staff made the day with their charm, service and sense of humour. I couldnt rate the whole experience highly enough but the bonus was the efficient and friendly staff Vicky and Carmel.

An amazing hotel and lovely staff. I really liked the inclusive gym and felt so comfortable in the hotel that we didn't want to leave as it was really nice and clean! They even gave us free slippers and a robe! Thank you for that! However the food left on the table in our room was a ploy to take our money when we were hungry :(

Lovely hotel. Rooms are clean, spacious and contemporary in design. Pool and leisure facilities are good. Breakfast had plenty of choice, with helpful staff. Great location for the city centre. You have to pay for parking but level 10 brings you right next to the hotel entrance and it's city centre so not unusual.

Very modern building which offered everything possible to make our stay more comfortable. 5 minute walk from city centre meant we could go out but with restaurant, gym, spa and VIP lounge, there would be little need if you didn't want. Staff were approachable. Highly recommend and will definitely be booking again.

Had a lovely couple of nights here with work. I am on crutches and the staff were extremely helpful. Thanks in particular to Richard in the restaurant who made sure I was looked after at meal times by just going that bit extra. Excellent service. Great facilities in the rooms, hotel was clean and tidy. Top hotel!

Little mid-week evening out. It was great, the room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfy (I'm normally a bit fussy about beds too!). The general area is under construction so views not great but not the hotels fault but worth a mention. Swimming pool and sauna were great. Definitely coming again
