We took our young baby to London for a friends wedding and needed somewhere convenient to stay. As we didn't realise it was pride, we had missed out on what we thought would be better hotels. However, much to our surprise, we were greeted by a warm (listed) building, lovely staff, a fully kitted ensuite, and some comfortable beds. As a side note, the hotel information booklet in our room was one of the most refreshing things I've read, detailing all the things that would be of interest with none of the faff!

There was no lift in the hotel, and we would struggle to get a large pram up 4 flights of stairs, however the lady in reception said we could leave our pram downstairs. It was safely looked after, as the front door was locked at all times.

The only issue that we had was with the room itself. The hardwood floor had expanded dramatically due to the (british) summer heat, so would be uneven and would creak under our footsteps. This wouldn't be a problem for any normal couple, but it proved to be an obstacle in getting baby to sleep (and stay asleep).

All qualms were lost at breakfast, where we had an amazing breakfast, with different many tasty options (cooked, continental, toast, etc)

It's a nice hotel, and definitely one to consider for your travels. I'd definitely consider booking a superior room, because the bathtub was lovely.

This hotel's manager has a lot to answer for, he is extremely rude and arrogant and I had a huge argument with him, in which he came out better than I, even though I pay his wages. When I booked I ordered a double room 4 nights to share with a friend and then requested to move to a single room last 2 nights. When I checked in he asked for full payment up front and I checked with him about the single room, he said there was no record of a room change and was very nasty about it, and so I could not prove it. I asked to cancel the last two nights so I could find a single room elsewhere for myself and he said I need to pay for all 6 nights in advance, otherwise to get out!!! AND they would take out AUD$215 frmo my credit card for the cancellation. I didn't want to inconvenience my friend by getting kicked out and having to search for another hotel so I ended up paying for a double room for last two nights at AUD$215 per night. sheesh

No WIFI - Do not book. I stayed here this week to take my final university exams at LSE, I presumed there would be wifi so I could get my work done for the week. I went down to reception to let them know I was struggling to get a connection; to which a lady on reception called Liga said that wifi is only advertised as 'complimentary'. For £88 a night I expect a hotel with some internet connection - not good enough, and a poor attitude to match.

Very friendly staff and lovely large rooms. There was a water feature outside our window that we could hear all night, was actually quite pleasant, not sure everyone would think so though. A so-so breakfast, was a cooked breakfast and filled the hole, but was largely jiat warmed up bits. Again, staff were very friendly and welcoming at breakfast too. 9-10 minute walk to St. Pancras made this spot perfect too.

We have stayed here a couple of times. It is very well located, close to St Pancras and Russell Square stations on the Piccadilly line, so you can quickly get to the centre of London and west end theatres. (Buy an Oyster Card). We have also stayed at other hotels nearby, and this is the best, if a little more expensive, but an excellent English breakfast is included.

Hospitality was spot on, and the breakfast was great. However, the room was alot smaller than we thought, the shower was tiny and there was barely any water pressure. The self service drinks were all out of date. Other guests on our floor had come for a night out, and our night was serenaded by slamming doors, knocking and shouting.

Rooms are tiny, but clean and sufficiently equipped. The hotel is comfortable and located close to the train stations (5 minute walk) while the surroundings are very quiet. The breakfast was very good. The only downside was the WiFi getting weaker in the evening.

Good location. The rooms are cozy, but coming from the US, I'm used to larger rooms, so that expectation is out the window. The rooms are nice though. No real complaints. Lots of things to see and do nearby, and close to the underground.

Clean rooms, good price, and included breakfast that is ok. No lift or airconditioning, no right angles, but that is part of the charm with this hotel. One big plus for me is that there are no wall to wall carpets in the rooms.

The hotel itself was very clean and the room was very well maintained and comfortable. Being in a beautiful setting makes you feel like a character from Oliver Twist, and being local to train stations and theatres in wonderful.

One of the buildings in the hotel are lined up.
Cat is welcoming the stairs and receptions.
Though the room is small, sufficient if traveling alone.
Depending on the room, not good view from the window.

I liked the room not too small and the double pillow on the bed. Excellent location of the hotel close to three metro stations and still central. I also loved the breakfast, very filling.

The place is very very nice. The rooms are small. No elevator. Breakfast is a must. Public transport facilities are excellent. Different with cat and dog. Definitely recommendable.

Small cozy room. rather narrow shower. The breakfast is not very varied and served until 9 am only. We could leave our luggage but no specific room for this purpose.
